In 2026, Riot added a brand new feature to League of Legends called role quests. These quests bring an exciting new aspect to the game, and completing each quest gives you a reward to help you win the game.
This year, Riot has introduced a lot of new features to the game, including new items, role quests, and Faelights plotted across the map. To find out about all the changes to LoL in the new season, check out our new season guide!
Role Quest Breakdown
The good thing about these quests is that you don’t really have to go out of your way to complete the quests. You should naturally complete these quests pretty easily, and you’re basically guaranteed to complete them before the game is over. You should complete these relatively fast, as long as you’re proactive.
Each role has its own quest, and you cannot change your quest once it is locked in. You are forced to take the quest related to your role, even if you switch lanes.
Top Lane Quest
The Top Lane quest requires you to earn a total of 1200 points by taking down champions, minions, towers, plates, and epic monsters. Champions are worth 15 points, minions 1 point, towers 25 points, tower plates 20 points, and epic monsters 30 points. You gain double the amount of points if you earn them in the top lane.
When you complete this quest, you gain some rewards. Your Teleport is upgraded and gives you a large shield when you use it, which can be really good if you’re using Teleport and joining a team fight instantly. If you didn’t have Teleport, then you will get this Summoner Spell for free! You will also get increased experience from all sources, allowing you to gain a significant XP advantage or help you catch up if you’re behind. You will also have a higher level cap, allowing you to get to level 20.
Champions who will find it easier to complete their quests will be champions who have lots of kill pressure, like Darius, and wave clear, like Malphite.

Jungle Role Quest
To complete your quest, you need to upgrade your jungle pet, which you can do by killing jungle monsters. Each camp provides 1 point, and getting 35 of them will complete your quest and upgrade your Smite.
As a reward for completing your jungle quest, your jungle pet and Smite are both stronger. Your Smite increases to 1400, reducing the chances of objectives being stolen. You will also gain additional movement speed in the jungle, and in the river, which helps you to move around the map more quickly. You will also gain additional XP and gold per large monster killed, which helps you stay in the game and catch up if you’ve had a bad start.
No specific Jungler will complete this quest quicker than others, as it is up to the player to find the balance between farming and ganking. Power farming Junglers like Nocturne and Shyvana should have an easier time, though.

Mid Lane Quest
The Mid Lane quest requires you to earn a total of 1350 points by taking down champions, minions, towers, plates, and epic monsters. Champions are worth 25 points, minions are worth 1 point, towers 25 points, tower plates are worth 20 points, and epic monsters are worth 30 points. You gain double the amount of points if you earn them in the bot lane with your Support.
When you complete the Mid Lane quest, your tier 2 boots get upgraded to t3 boots. Each boots give you additional stats and is better than t2. Also, every 5 minutes, you gain an empowered recall, reducing the channel time from 8 seconds to 4 seconds. Every time you get a kill, you will reduce the cooldown of the recall by 1 minute.
In my opinion, champions who will find it easier to complete this quest are mages with high kill pressure, like Syndra, Ahri or Leblanc, as they have a mix between high kill pressure and good wave clear.

Bot Lane Quest
The Bot Lane quest requires you to earn a total of 1350 points by taking down champions, minions, towers, plates, and epic monsters. Champions are worth 15 points, minions 1.5 points, towers 25 points, tower plates 20 points, and epic monsters 30 points. You gain double the amount of points if you earn them in the bot lane with your Support.
When you complete your quest, you get 300 gold as a bonus, an additional 2 gold per minion kill for the rest of the game, an additional 50 gold per kill, and your boots are moved to the 7th slot, which allows you to buy another item. ADCs can effectively have 6 offensive items + boots if they want to.
Early game AD Carries, or champions who can get kills early and pick up kills like Ezreal, Lucian and Jinx, are most likely going to complete their quest earlier and get more stacks early.

Support Quest
The Support quest is also different to some of the other quests. To upgrade your Support quest, you need to deal damage to enemy champions or turrets, or buy killing minions. Damaging champions and turrets grants you 20 points, while killing casters give you 15, and cannon and melee minions give you 20. You should complete your quest pretty quickly.
Once you complete this quest, your Support item is upgraded and gives 4 additional gold per 10 seconds. You will also have a dedicated slot for control wards, which allows you to have 6 items + control wards in your inventory.
Damage-dealing Supports like Zyra, Brand, or strong utility/fighting champions like Nami will complete their quests quicker compared to passive Supports. However, to complete this quest, you need to be proactive in the lane.

Final Thoughts
While opinions on Riot’s new quests differ, with some thinking they’re pointless, I think it is an interesting twist to the game, and I am overall happy with it. As a Support main, you don’t even notice you’re working towards this quest, and I assume it is the same for the other roles.
