On Patch 16.12, Riot made lots of changes to the ARAM Mayhem Game Mode. These changes brought a completely new take to this game mode, adding over 50 new Augments, removing sets, and removing another 30+ Augments.
While I personally think they took the wrong approach and basically ruined this game mode for me, here is a breakdown of all the major changes to ARAM Mayhem. Here at Mobalytics, we have created an ARAM Mayhem Tier List, which includes all the new Augments. I recommend you read it to know what Augments are good and bad, and what you should take/avoid!
For those who have not played ARAM Mayhem before, you start with 1 Augment at level 3, then you get more Augments at levels 7, 11 and 15. You can choose the next Augment the next time you die.
Removed Augments
???
- Your Missing Pings will launch a missile at the pinged location that damages enemies and heals allies.
Bounce of the Poro King
- Gain Bounce of the Poro King! Bounce of the Poro King: Transform into the Poro King, bouncing repeatedly, dealing physical damage and Knocking Back nearby enemies.
Cerberus
- Gain the Hail of Blades and Press the Attack Keystone Runes.
Feel the Burn
- Gain the Feel the Burn Summoner Spell. Feel the Burn casts Ignite and Exhaust on all nearby enemy champions.
Gash
- Gain 50% Attack Speed. Deal True Damage On-Hit, scaling with your Armor.
Heads Up Cupcake!
- Cupcakes will intermittently fly across the bridge. Cupcakes grant Gold to whoever catches them and restore Health to the first champion hit plus their nearby allies. Gain Gold based on the amount healed.
I'm a Baby Kitty Where is Mama
- Standing next to an ally marks them as your mama. Gain Movement Speed when moving towards Mama. Gain Movement Speed and heal and Shield Power when close to your mama.
Laser Eyes
- There is a laser in the direction you are facing that deals continuous magic damage.
Laser Heal
- Cast a laser for 2.5 seconds that heals allies, and Slows and deals magic damage to enemies.
Slow Cooker
- Every second, apply an infinitely stacking Burn to nearby enemy champions, scaling with your max Health.
Spellwake
- Hitting enemies with Abilities creates a blast that deals magic damage from you to the location you hit them.
Trueshot Prodigy
- When you damage a champion from far away, fire a Trueshot Barrage at them.
Upgrade Mikael's Blessing
- Gain Mikael's Blessing. Reduce Mikael's Blessing Cooldown to 45 seconds. On item active, cleanse Disabling and Immobilizing effects and Heal allies in range.
Void Rift
- Damaging enemies with Abilities creates a Void scar. If there is another Void scar nearby, both are consumed to create a rift between them, dealing magic damage and Slowing enemies inside.
Cheating
- Press Recall to return to base, buy items, and acquire augments.
Demon's Dance
- Gain the Fleet Footwork and Grasp of the Undying Keystone Runes.
Executioner
- Deal 10% more damage to enemies below 30% Health. Reset your basic Abilities on takedown.
Grandma's Chili Oil
- Basic attacks and ability hits against enemies inflicts them with a Burn that drops a pool of Chili Oil nearby. Chili Oil restores Health and Burns enemies. Chili Oil effects become stronger for each Burn you apply.
Holy Fire
- Healing or Shielding applies an infinitely stacking Burn to a nearby enemy, dealing percent max Health magic damage over a few seconds.
Keystone Conjurer
- Gain the Summon Aery and Arcane Comet Keystone Runes.
Lightning Strikes
- Gain 20% total Attack Speed. At 1.75 Attacks per second, deal additional magic damage On-Hit.
Poro Blaster
- You gather Poros over time. Damaging an enemy fires all Poros at them, each dealing max Health true damage. If you have 5 Poros, they will Knock Back once.
Red Envelopes
- Red envelopes appear around you randomly. Picking them up gives you Gold and a small amount of a random Stats.
Restless Restoration
- You constantly heal while moving.
Slow And Steady
- Your Attack Speed becomes 0.62. All Bonus Attack Speed is converted to Attack Damage. (25 Plus ? AD per 1% AS).
Snowball Roulette
- Gain 100 Ability Haste on Snowball. Hitting an enemy casts a random beneficial Summoner Spell on you and a harmful one on them. Following up recast the beneficial one on yourself. If you don't have one, gain a Snowball.
Twice Thrice
- Every 3 attacks, your On-Hit effects trigger a second time.
Upgrade Hubris
- On Takedown, Hubris heals you and grants Movement Speed, scaling with your Eminence stacks. Gain +250 Gold.
Buff Buddies
- You gain Crest of Cinders and Crest of Insight. Granting yourself Ability Haste and resource regeneration and causing your Attacks to Burn and Slow enemy champions.
Crack Open That Egg
- Your shields will detonate on expiration.
Fetch
- Gain bonus Movement Speed toward enemies marked by Snowball. You can pick up an ally's Snowball to refresh your own. If you don't have one, gain a Snowball.
Frost Wraith
- Autocast Root nearby enemies for 1.25 seconds every 6.5 seconds.
Guilty Pleasure
- Immobilizing or Grounding enemy champions heals you.
Hat on a Hat
- Headwear items and hats give an extra Ability Power and Magic Resist.
ReEnergize
- Your Energized Attack charges are fully refunded if the target is not the same as your previous. Energized Attacks deal extra damage.
Repulsor
- On dropping below 35% Health, Knock Back nearby enemies and Slow them for 90%.
Self Destruct
- Every 25 seconds, attach a bomb to you. After 5 seconds, it explodes for true damage and Knocks Up enemies.
Speed Demon
- Gain 200 Movement Speed when damaging an enemy champion with an Ability, decaying over 0.75 seconds.
The Brutalizer
- Gain 20 Attack Damage, 10 Ability Haste, and 5 Lethality.
Tormentor
- Immobilizing or Grounding enemy champions applies a Burn that deals damage over time, stacking infinitely.
Upgrade Cutlass
- Reduce Spectral Cutlass and Lifeline's Cooldown to 30 seconds. When active, gain 25% damage amplification. Gain 250 Gold.
Upgrade Thornmail
- After ? seconds out of combat, your Thornmail or Bramble Vest generates a shell that reflects increased damage from Attacks.
Virtuous Cycle
- Your Heals grant extra Shield and your Shields grant extra Healing.
Weighted Popoffs
- Striking enemies with Abilities grants you stacks of Popoff, reducing your non-Ultimate Ability Cooldowns.
Wind Beneath Blade
- The higher your Armor Penetration and Magic Penetration are, the faster you are.

New Augments
Chain Reaction
- If a target Knocked Back by ? hits another champion, they are Knocked Up and dealt damage. When colliding with terrain, the Knock Up duration is extended and they are dealt bonus damage.
Dimension Shift
- Gain the When the Darkness Comes Summoner Spell. Create a zone that transports everyone inside of it to another dimension.
DropBear
- On death, a giant Tibbers with all your augments falls from the sky and damages nearby enemies.
Echo Cast
- Casting your ? sends a clone toward your mouse position and recasts it.
En Passant
- Periodically identify Vitals on enemy champions. Hitting them with Attacks or Abilities deals max Health true damage, restores Health, and grants Movement Speed. These effects can stack.
Hellbent
- Damaging enemy champions with Attacks or Abilities grants stacks. At max stacks, you revive empowered upon death.
High Roller
- Nearby enemies have a chance to drop Stat Anvils on death.
Multishot
- QUEST: Hit enemy Champions with ? ? times.
- REWARD: Fire additional missiles per Quest Level.
Overloaded
- Using another Ability resets the cooldown of ?.
Pin Cushion
- Attacks during ? apply Marks that explode at the end of its duration, dealing damage and granting Move Speed.
Poro Stampede
- QUEST: Gather Poro Snax and feed ? Poros.
- REWARD: Gain the Poro Charge Summoner Spell, which launches waves of Poros at the enemy team. Additional waves unlock per Quest Level.

Quickstep
- When you use ?, dash towards your cursor.
Rite of Ascension
- On takedown, enemy champions leave behind their Essence. Attacking the Essence grants movement speed and resets basic ability cooldowns.
Spell Split
- Your ? missile splits into two on hit, at max Range, or when Recast.
Spirit Bomb
- Healing and Shielding allied champions builds up a Spirit Bomb. At max stacks, toss the bomb onto lowest Health ally to heal and shield them and nearby allies.
Squishy Slappy Grab
- Occasionally send out squishy, slappy hands towards all nearby enemy champions, tethering them. Your next attack will pull in all tethered enemies.
Surge Field
- On Ultimate cast, spawn a Zone that grants Ability Haste and Movement Speed. While inside, it fires missiles that deal 20% of your damage.
Titan's Resolve
- Gain stacks when taking or dealing damage. For every 10 stacks, gain Adaptive Force, Armor, Magic Resist, Size, and Tenacity.
Tripleshot
- Your ? targets 2 additional enemies in front of you.
Ult Bot
- Your Ability Haste only applies to your Ultimate, but is 50% more effective. Gain 100 Ability Haste.
Archmage
- Casting a spell refunds another random spell's cost by 30% of the original spell's Cooldown.
BONK!
- Attacks and Abilities empowered by ? deal additional damage to the target and nearby enemies.
Combusting Interest
- Burns and damage over time applied to champions generates gold.
Endless Decimation
- While in combat, Autocast a circular axe that deals physical damage. Enemies on the outer edge take additional damage and heal you.
From Downtown
- QUEST: Snipe ? enemy champions with abilities.
- REWARD: Send a meteor at Sniped enemy champions, dealing Magic damage in an area around them.
Hide on Bush
- After entering Brush, deal 20% more damage for 2 seconds. Remain in the Brush to refresh the effect.
Lil' Extra Help
- Gain ? Attack Range and ? Attack Speed during your ? duration.
Mercy's Strike
- After using ?, your next basic attack gains attack range, attack speed and deals bonus max Health magic damage.
Nature is Healing
- Standing in Brush regenerates ? max Health per second.
Our Healing
- Whenever someone heals around you, you heal 15% of their own healing. Doubled from Enemy healing.
Overextender
- Recall to enter your Cannon Launcher. It has significantly increased range, travel speed, and damage.
Pat On The Back
- Allies encourage you when you walk past, granting you a Shield and Movement Speed.
Porcupine
- Taking damage from champions builds up a burst of needles that fly out of you, dealing damage and slowing nearby enemies.
Pressure Cooker
- Every second, apply a stacking Burn to nearby enemy champions, scaling with your max Health.
- QUEST: Deal Burn damage to enemy Champions.
- REWARD: Size and damage increase per Quest Level.
Pursuit of Haste
- QUEST: Hit enemy champions with ? ? times.
- REWARD: Gain Ability Haste on ? per Quest Level up to ?.
Pursuit of Power
- QUEST: Hit enemy champions with ? ? times.
- REWARD: Permanently increase ? damage.
Ravenous Bind
- Immobilizing or Grounding enemy champions with ? deals extra damage and heals you.
Reload
- Basic Attacks On-Hit during ? reduce its cooldown.
Shark Bait
- A few seconds after death, a shark chomps all nearby enemies. You can move after death to aim the shark attack.
Shark Tempest
- Sharks circle your Snowball, slowing and damaging nearby enemies. When your Snowball hits a Champion, they become trapped in a shark storm!
Snap Back
- Recast ? to explode and return to your original position.
Snowblast
- Recasting Snowball deals increased damage, Knocks Up the target, and Knocks Back nearby enemies.
Terrain'd
- Your ? deals damage in an area around it.
Terror
- Whenever you cast ?, Fear enemies around you.
Tooth Fairy
- Bursting enemies drops Teeth. Picking up Teeth grants you permanent Lethality and Magic Penetration.
Void Dash
- Dashing with ? spawns a Void Zone that Slows enemy champions and deals magic damage.
Warlock Juicebox
- Gain ? Omnivamp.
Wee Woo Wee Woo
- When moving towards allies with low Health, gain Movement Speed. Your Healing and Shielding are greater based on how low your target's Health is.
Yowch, My Coins!
- On takedown, enemy champions drop coins nearby, which you and your allies can collect. Each is worth 10 gold.
Adaptive Ward
- Striking an enemy champion with ? grants you ? Armor or Magic Resist based on their damage type for 6 seconds. This effect can stack.
Bolstered
- Shields granted from ? are stronger and scaling with target's missing Health.
Don't Change the Channel
- Gain a Shield for every second you spend Channeling.
Double Strike
- ? applies On-Hit effects an additional time.
Forged By The Master
- Increase your Item and Augment damage by ?.
It's Go Time
- Activating ? grants you Movement Speed for its duration.
Siphon
- Damaging enemy champions with ? heals you.
Snowday
- Gain 100 Ability Haste on your Snowball. It deals additional magic damage when hitting an enemy. If you don't have one, gain a Snowball.
Stay Resolute
- When ? damages enemy champions, gain ? Armor and Magic Resistance.
Support Main
- QUEST: Heal allied champions for ? Health.
- REWARD: Any healing you provide now also Heals Over Time after the initial heal.
Trusty Weapon
- Striking enemy champions with ? forges a bond of Friendship.
- ? gains temporarily increased damage based on your level of Friendship.
