Keep the minion wave closer to your side of the map, as this will reduce his all-in potential and keep you safer versus him. Do not push if you’re weak or squishy.

He benefits from extended trades as he can stack his Passive and deal extra damage with his Q. Extended trades will almost always favour him, so make sure you keep trades short and sweet.

Do not underestimate his ability to close the gap and kill you. Spend as little time as possible near him, and stay at max distance. This decreases his all-in and kill potential, while increasing your survivability.

He will look to split push when there are no active team fights. He is a great split pusher with his Q and E. You must contest him while he is split pushing, but make sure you’re sending someone who can match him. Avoid sending anyone who is squishy, immobile or behind, as a good Zaheen will just all-in and kill them.

Pick disengage champions versus Zaahen. He really struggles to get onto his target when the enemy team has champions with long range and disengage. If you’ve picked either of those options, stay at max range and try not to let him collapse on you.

Zaahen will want to ambush and catch out enemies who are alone or who are vulnerable. Make sure you stick with your team during this stage of the game, and avoid walking too far away from anyone, or you might just get taken down by them.

Zaahen is one of the strongest laners at level 1 thanks to his Passive combined with his Q. Do not fight him at level 1.

He will always be stronger when he has nearly full stacks (or full stacks) on his Passive, as he can be resurrected when he dies. This can make him really strong, and a good Zaahen will always try to fight around his stacks.

When he has completed his first item, his kill pressure intensifies, and if you’re already behind, it will be increasingly difficult for you to win against him in lane, especially with his Ultimate R. You need to play safe, avoid dying and pick up as much CS and XP as you can.
