Xin Zhao is incredibly strong during the early game thanks to his E and Q. He will win most all-ins as long as he looks for favourable trades around abilities.
His Ultimate R is very effective against ranged members of the enemy team. This will force the enemy carries to come in melee range of him, which can be quite devastating for them.
Has great all-in potential. If the enemy oversteps, he can close the gap and all-in them and take them down.
Falls off during the late game. If he can’t one-shot the person he is targeting, he will be crowd controlled almost immediately and killed on the spot.
Incredibly vulnerable once his Ultimate R is on cooldown. The enemy team should be looking to fight him during this time and target him before anyone else.
Isn’t very effective against a group of champions as he is extremely reliant on picks to get a lead. Besides, crowd controlling him can allow the enemy team to get rid of him quite easily.

Look for short burst trades in this matchup as much as you can. What you want to do is keep harassing enemies from the lane brush, go in and then fall back once they are knocked up.
You should have a really easy lane provided you can keep the river warded. It will keep you safe from ganks and will allow you to play the lane on your terms.
Remember that your dash is your only means of escape and engage. Using it at an improper time can get you killed quickly and lose you a major fight.

Be a part of neutral objective fights. Your Ultimate R will be especially helpful in pushing the enemy Jungler off the neutral objective.
Look for picks with your Jungler when possible. It will allow you to accumulate a massive lead and will let you take over the game single-handedly.
Do not forget to farm in the game as you still need your core items to win the game. If you manage to accumulate a lead, make sure that you push it harder and get other lanes ahead.

After going in with your Ultimate R, be prepared to fall back and peel for your allies in late-game team fights.
To make getting on the enemy backline easier, group with your team but stay off to the side. If you flank from an unwarded bush, the enemy will find it harder to react to your all-in. Avoid splitting or being away from your team in the late game as the enemy will force a fight while you’re gone.
Play around your Ultimate R in the later parts of the game. Avoid fighting unless your Ultimate R is up. Fighting without it will make the late-game team fights much harder. Delay fights and be prepared to disengage if it’s still on cooldown.
Xin Zhao’s first power spike in lane is at level 3. He can all-in the enemy at level 3 when he gets access to all 3 basic abilities.
At level 6, Xin Zhao’s kill pressure heavily increases. He can instantly kill any enemy laner and chase them down once he has his Ultimate R.
After Xin has picked up his first component item, he can trade very aggressively with the enemy. Furthermore, the extra damage he gets from this item will help him last hit and farm easily.
Xin Zhao will have two points in his Ultimate R at level 11. It will allow him to use the ability more often, making it easier for him to convert fights into a 1 v 1 as and when required.
His first ability will be maxed out by the time he hits level 9. This is a crucial power spike as it massively increases his damage output and dueling capacity.
Xin is excellent in team fights and picking of enemies due to his kit. His Ultimate R will allow him to single out enemies, allowing him to be immune from ranged carries.
Having three points in his Ultimate R is a massive powerspike for Xin Zhao. This will allow him to use the ability frequently, giving him an overall benefit during fights.
Xin will have two of his abilities maxed out by level 14. This is a significant boost to his dueling power, and it will let him dominate 1 v 1's with utmost ease.
During this phase of the game, Xin will be really tanky while simultaneously dealing a ton of damage to his enemies. This means that he will be tough to take down, and immobile or CC'd enemy carries will mostly die if they can't get Xin away from them.
