Versatile build path. He can go either AD or full tank depending on his team’s needs.
Post 6, it will be hard to track Sion as he can gank lanes from afar with his Ultimate R.
Really good at cheesing and taking down enemies who are walking around Summoners Rift alone by hiding in bushes and channelling his Q
In team fights, he can easily get poked down by ranged champions. He can also get kited easily, which makes it hard for him to team fight sometimes.
He can find it hard to gank his allies without his Ultimate R. Pre-6, it will be hard for him to gank too.
Sion doesn’t have the greatest objective control in the early game. If you’re not able to take the objective alone, you’ll need help from your bot lane.

Getting to level 3 is going to be pretty important in this matchup so ask for a hard leash and quickly clear the Jungle. Once you're level 3, you can start ganking.
Try to initiate ganks by using your E to slow down overextended enemies. This will mean that you will need to gank when a fresh minion wave is showing up.
In the first few levels, play safe and avoid committing to any duel. Your very early game is rather weak, so you’ll probably lose trades versus an aggressive jungler.

Neutral objective fights are quite important for you so make sure that you keep getting Dragons regularly. You can easily gank the bot lane and then ask them to help you.
Your Q will be really impactful during neutral objective fights. Make it a point to use the Jungle brushes to completely shut down enemies who wander around the Jungle without vision.
Your Ultimate R will allow you to disrupt fights and kill carries with ease. Doing so in chokepoints will easily win you the game.

Stay grouped with your team. Do not leave the side of your carries otherwise, the enemy will capitalize on the fact and leave them helpless.
Peel for your carries in team fights. After using your Q, fall back and protect your allies and focus on the nearest champion.
Look for picks with your Ultimate R. If you can catch someone out when the enemy is unorganized, you’ll be able to force a team fight or an objective afterward.
Sion is weak in the very early game. He needs to get some levels behind him before he can start to gank.
Post 6, Sion can gank lanes from afar with his Ultimate R. Look for ganks whenever your Ultimate R is up.
Sion’s early game power spikes depend on what build he goes for: if he goes tank, he will be weaker early, if he goes damage he will be obnoxious and strong.
An additional point in his Ultimate R will boost his overall damage and let him use the ability frequently. It will help him massively during team fights or when trying to secure picks.
His first ability will be maxed out at level nine. This increases his damage, and his team fighting potential will be pretty respectable now. He will pose a lot of threats if he can use the ability while hiding in a brush.
His tankiness will be colossal during this phase of the game. He will soak up both tower shots and enemy damage simultaneously and make it very easy for his allies to follow up on his engagement.
His tankiness will be really high during this phase of the game due to his items. That, combined with his W, will make him nearly unkillable and allow him to soak a lot of damage.
A fully maxed out Ultimate R will further bolster his all-in potential and overall damage dealt in the long run. It will be a massive power spike for him as he can secure easy picks with it.
He is terrific during late-game team fights due to his Q and Ultimate R. His effectiveness increases if he manages to find a flank on his enemies or land his Ultimate R on a bunch of enemies clumped together.
