These start out feeling weak, but become really strong with the right build, enough Path of Star upgrades or with their Godsent. The amount of investment required to get these Hexes off the ground limits their viability compared to those ranked higher.
Dark Side
Dark Side is a common choice for new players because they see the chance to become invulnerable. Unfortunately, the base damage of
Dark Side is poor, so it's more like wasting 5 seconds than becoming super powered.
The main situation where Dark Side is really good is when you have a Cast-focused build because you still use your regular Cast as a living nightmare.
The other way to make
Dark Side feel like an ez win button is to pair it with Boons and Weapon Aspects that have lingering effect. Activating
Aspect of Melinoë's Omega Special or
Aspect of Anubis' Omega Attack right before using the Hex allows the previous Omega Move to persist into the Hex's duration.
Moon Water
Moon Water has limited uses, a fairly high Magick charge cost, and primarily defensive benefits. Unlike every other Hex, Moon water can't be used during every encounter becuase of its limited uses. Most encounters will be the same as if you had no Hex, even with a heavily upgraded one.
Moon Water.
Where
Moon Water does come in clutch, is if you have build that uses a lot of Magick, and you can save your Hex uses for each Guardian encounter. If you can do both of these, you'll be able to tank a ridiculous amount of damage from bosses.
Skyfall
The main reason we're placing
Sky Fall in the bottom tier is becuase it is locked behind the Black Coat's
Aspect of Selene. Moreover, you are also pretty much commiting to use
Sword Hilt so you can upgrade to
Ares's Godsent.
Additionally, the Hex itself is not that great.
Aspect of Selene's Omega Moves are slow, and you need to track which eneimes are afflicted with Shine. Both
Ares and
Aspect of Selene also rank low on their respective tier lists, so together with
Sky Fall, they need some love to match up with the rest of abilites in Hades II.
Total Eclipse
Total Eclipse is another Hex with high max potential, but a weaker starting point. It's also limited by its high Magick charge cost.
The two things required for a good
Total Eclipse build is Eminence and
Hestia's Godsent. As long as your target is within the circle for the for full 4 seconds, the Scorch damage is massive and will quickly get the max of 999 damage.
