Overview

Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush is the newest game from developer Milestone Team, set to release later this year on September 24th, 2026. Today, we're taking a look at some new details on the game surrounding secrets, car customization, and more!

Vehicle Classes Explained

The developers recently sat down in an interview and went over the 4 distinct types of cars you'll be able to play in Rush, and how they'll affect each track, and area of the world you'll set tire on. Here's a brief but detailed overview of each type!

Drifters: Masters Of The Corner

Drfiter vehicles are excellent in the realm of drifting specifically, providing some of what the devs call "the most precise handling in the game". They feel this makes them the most responsive around corners, something which players familiar with racing in Hot Wheels games will be all too familiar with.

Furthermore, it's stated that Drifter vehicles can build boost extremely easy while sliding around, but they lack in the speed realm when it comes to mainaining high velocity. This is why tracks built for Drifters are typically designed around the idea of vehicle control, usually featuring winding routes.

Speeders: Hit Top Speed FAST!

Speeders are what most casual players will gravitate too due to their fixation on the idea of maxing out the speedometer. They're boosting increases as they accelerate at the cost of drifting, but luckily have tracks which are centered around keeping those top speeds for longer. Such tracks will often accomodate the vehicle class with long straights, or corners that can be tackled without reliance on a drift. Choosing when you want to spend your boost on this class is what the devs refer to as the key to mastering it.

Titans: Boost Consumption Pros

The Titans typically prioritize the goal of power over speed. Their more defining feature is the larger boost capacity compared to other classes, making boost management the key to success with a Titan. The challenge is said to be finding the correct balance of maximizing your boost without draining it, as this will slow you down.

The track design encapsulates this, as animated modules and interactive objects will seek to affect your boost management. The pieces are integrated into the layout of each track to ensure every track is optimized for boost charging and consumption.

Versatiles: Jack Of All Trades

The last class to go over is Versatiles, which many will recognize as the most adaptable class in the game. While they don't excel at one specific feature like other classes, they do offer a balanced mix of skills. This makes them standout from other classes, alongside another unique distinction, which comes in the form of their boosting.

Versatile vehicles have their boost divided into charges, which each button press of the boost consuming one of the charges. Such flexibility is then reflected on the tracks you'll play with this class, which will feature frequent transitions between the orange modules and the environment. This highlights their ability to handle different surfaces, something which they do very well.

Rush Squad Breakdown

Your Rush Squad is what you can essentially treat as your vehicle rotation in the game. At any time while free-roaming in Rush, you can pull up a menu with a push of a button that gives you complete control over what you want to drive.

If you have read our overview on Classes above, you'll notice in the image below that the Rush Squad UI will also display which vehicle you have is from which class. This helps when it comes to choosing the right vehicle for the job, depending on which part of the map you're currently in.

The devs mention that when you start Rush, you won't have to wait long at all to get your first actual Rush Squad. One is provided near the start of the game, and as your collection grows you'll be able to customize it further to your liking!

Races are different, though

As explained by the developers, certain races in Rush will only support vehicles from specific classes. Additionally, races will not let you swap out your vehicle on the fly if you just so happen to have made the wrong choice early. For this reason, make sure you're always carrying around the best car for the job.

Assuming you aren't organized, it's not the end of the world. When you start a race, the game will let you pick a car from your garage regardless of your Rush Squad. In a game with over 150 Vehicles To Unlock, balancing that number alongside the decision making placed on the player's shoulders is a process the developers describe as feeling like they were "solving a puzzle".

Back to your actual Rush Squad, each island in Rush is home to an enemy Rush Squad, who will stand between you and the goal of earning the "Ultimate Rush Master" title. In order to challenge them, you first need to earn points by completing Main Events in the game. This will aid you in eventually unlocking head-to-head battles, which of course will be against said Rushers.

After defeating the entire crew, you'll earn the chance to face the actual Rush Master in an edge of your seat showdown. Defeat the Rusher, and you'll get the Hot Wheels they used added to your collection. This then gives you even more ways to expand your roster, and of course power up your very own Rush Squad within the game.

Conclusion
