Abyssal Chest Explained - Hero Siege Season 10: Ebontharn

Hero Siege's 10th season named "Ebontharn" is here, and brings with it a new permanent map mechanics known as the Abyssal Chest. Here's everything you need to know about it before jumping in for the first time!

The Abyssal Chest much like any other map mechanic in Hero Siege is a randomly ocurring event that can be generated on almost any map in the game when you load in.

You'll know when you've come across the Chest as before you even reach it, you'll see the dark colored erosions in the ground, trailing off beyond the original area of it. This is a direct path to each of the Key Chests which we'll talk about in the moment.

In the central point of all erosions will be the Master Chest, guarded by 5 distinct lock symbols. When you first encounter the Chest, it won't actually be openable. In order to open it, you need to unlock at least 1 Surrounding Chest.

Beware that the moment you open one of the surrounding chests (found by following the corresponding erosion) a large pack of extremely difficult enemies will spawn on top of you almost instantly. Not only this, but a second pack of enemies will also then spawn at the Main Chest, where you came from.

Desapite only needing 1 Chest opened in order to unlock the main one, it's HIGHLY recommended to open all of them if you have the means to. Each time a Chest is opened, it will increase the loot of the Master Chest, giving you better loot overall.

Unlike other map mechanics in the game, the Abyssal Chest cannot receive buffs and abilities from your Ether Tree, which you would typically begin progressing as soon as you hit level 100.

It's currently unknown whether or not this will be added in Season 11, but as of now it seems there is no way to increase the spawn chance, or any other feature of the Chest.
