Stun Lock Shadowstrix Dagger Build – Mistfall Hunter

Overview

This PvP Shadowstrix build uses a Dagger and Dual Blades to repeatedly stun enemies before they can fight back. High Seamless keeps Shadow Strike available as often as possible, while Curse extends its stun duration and the debuffs applied by Poison Crow Mark.

This build can be so strong that Swanifier has a naked version, being able to defeat players wearing Legendary gear. This version is included as a fun challenge loadout, alongside the fully equipped Blue, Purple and Legendary setups recommended for regular use.

Made in collaboration with Swanifier. Check out his video for more information and demonstrations of this build!

Affixes

Legendary Loadout

  • Seamless 9 – Increases Skill Cooldown Speed, allowing Shadow Strike and your other abilities to become available much faster. It also reduces active skill cooldowns after knocking down an enemy Gyldhunter.

  • Curse 7 – Extends the duration of debuffs inflicted by the build. This keeps enemies stunned by Shadow Strike for longer and extends the Healing Block applied through Poison Crow Mark.

  • Smiting 4 – Critical Hits recover Energy and reduce your active skill cooldowns. Aim for the head during Shadow Strike combos to activate Smiting while working toward another stun.

  • Elusive 5 – Reduces the Energy cost of dodging, making it easier to stay mobile without exhausting your resources.

  • Valor 6 – Increases Attack and provides Defense Penetration, ensuring the build still deals threatening damage despite its focus on cooldowns and control.

  • Fervor 3 – Consecutive hits temporarily increase your Physical and Magic Damage. This adds extra pressure while attacking a stunned enemy.

  • Aegis 3 – Improves your Defense, providing some additional protection when a combo fails or an enemy survives the initial stun.

  • Fervid 3 – Increases your Physical and Magic Damage while your Health remains high, rewarding clean openings from Stealth.

Gods’ Brew:

Curse +2 Valor +2 Elusive +2 Seamless +2

Before drinking Gods’ Brew, the equipment provides Seamless 7, Curse 5, Smiting 4, Elusive 3, Valor 4, Fervor 3, Aegis 3 and Fervid 3.

Purple Loadout

Gods’ Brew:

Curse +2 Valor +2 Elusive +2 Seamless +2

This gives you Seamless 7, Curse 5, Smiting 4, Elusive 4, Valor 7 and Stoic 5. The Purple setup reaches all of its intended affix targets while adding Stoic for extra protection at low Health.

Blue Loadout

Gods’ Brew:

Curse +2 Valor +2 Elusive +2 Seamless +2

This gives you Seamless 7, Curse 5, Smiting 3, Elusive 3 and Valor 6. Smiting is one level lower than the higher rarity versions, but the essential Seamless and Curse targets are still reached.

Skills

Shadowstrix equips two Dagger skills alongside two Dual Blades skills. The Dagger handles the main stun combo, while the Dual Blades provide mobility and Healing Block.

Dagger

  • Shadow Strike
  • Flash Stride

Shadow Strike leaves a shadow behind as you dash forward. The shadow then follows your position, damaging and stunning enemies it hits. This is the centerpiece of the build and should usually be confirmed after staggering the target with a Dagger Heavy Strike.

Flash Stride provides another fast forward dash that damages enemies caught in its path. Use it to chase someone after your combo or escape when you need to reset. Avoid wasting it when your other movement options are available.

Dual Blades

  • Phantom Shift
  • Poison Crow Mark

Phantom Shift allows you to select a landing point and teleport to it, granting increased Movement Speed afterward. It gives you another way to reposition, create distance or continue chasing an escaping opponent.

Poison Crow Mark damages enemies while reducing their Movement Speed and Dodge Distance. Depletion also makes it apply Healing Block, preventing opponents from recovering while you continue your attack. An Evade Attack can flow directly into Poison Crow Mark before you swap back to the Dagger.

The Dual Blades are mainly equipped for their abilities. Without a talent that shortens their attack animations, you should generally return to the Dagger after using them.

Talents

  • Frequency Shift – After leaving Stealth, you can enter Shadow Veil following a short delay. Dagger attacks can then repeatedly return you to Shadow Veil, with up to three re-entries before the effect resets.
  • Shadow Slash – Branch attacks from Shadow Wheel Slash reduce Sneak’s remaining cooldown and recover Energy, helping the build manage its resources.
  • Nimble – When Shadow Strike's afterimages hit an enemy, its remaining cooldown is greatly reduced. This is essential for repeatedly stunning the same target.
  • DepletionPoison Crow Mark applies Healing Block when it hits, making it much harder for enemies to recover through the combo.
  • Haste – Entering Stealth or Shadow Veil temporarily grants a large Movement Speed increase. This combines with Frequency Shift to keep you highly mobile.
  • Swift Sneak – Allows Sneak to enter Stealth much faster. You do not need to crouch beforehand to benefit from the faster Stealth activation.
  • Stance Recovery – Dagger Light Strikes against enemy players reduce the remaining cooldown of its exclusive skills, helping Shadow Strike return during a combo.
  • Combat Euphoria – Hitting an enemy temporarily increases your Movement Speed. Combined with Haste this makes it easier to stick to targets or disengage safely.

Tips & Tricks

  • Always look to begin a fight from Stealth. If Stealth is available, there is no need to reveal yourself early and give the enemy a fair opportunity to react.
  • A Dagger Light Strike from Stealth confirms the following Heavy Strike. This gives you a safe and reliable opening when you do not immediately want to commit Shadow Strike.
  • A Heavy Strike from Stealth can be followed by Shadow Strike. The initial stagger confirms Shadow Strike's stun and allows you to begin the full combo.
  • Against an enemy without Breakaway, use Shadow Strike, land two headshots and then use Shadow Strike again once its cooldown has been reduced. While they are stunned, use Heavy Strike → Light Strike → Heavy Strike. If the opening Heavy Strike was used to confirm Shadow Strike, use Light Strike → Heavy Strike → Light Strike instead. Curse keeps these attacks confirmed unless the enemy has enough Resilience.
  • Use Evade Attack → Poison Crow Mark to apply Healing Block, then swap back to the Dagger and continue chasing. The Dual Blades are mainly there for their abilities rather than extended basic-attack trades.
