Defeating Carmilla in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse comes down to breaking the skulls protecting her and learning where to stand during her attacks. Explosive red beams force you into safe gaps, while attacks arriving from the sides can be blocked by positioning yourself behind Carmilla.

Start by attacking the skulls protecting Carmilla. These act as shields, so your first priority is to destroy them and bring down her defenses.

Once the skulls are gone, focus your attacks on Carmilla herself. Follow her as she moves, but keep watching for incoming attacks rather than chasing damage through an explosion.

The skulls return throughout the fight. Whenever they reappear, switch your attention back to them, break her defenses again, and use the next opening to damage her.

Carmilla’s red beams appear before they explode, giving you time to move into the gaps between them.

Watch where the beams form and reposition before the explosions go off. You’ll need to handle this mechanic while attacking both the skulls and Carmilla, so be ready to interrupt your attacks to reach a safe gap.

Keep checking for these beams throughout the encounter, including during the closing stages.

When red explosions approach from one side, move to the opposite side of Carmilla. Keeping her between you and the incoming attack allows her to act as your shield.

For example, if the explosions are coming from the left, move to her right. Reverse your positioning when they approach from the other direction.

Carmilla moves and spins during the fight, so adjust your position as needed to stay protected. Once the attack passes, resume attacking her or any remaining skulls.

Near the end of the fight, Carmilla unleashes a sequence involving explosions and white spikes.

Move to the other side as the sequence begins, then jump over the white spikes as they appear. During the later part of this attack, stay near the middle and time your jumps over the remaining spikes.

Focus on getting through this sequence safely, then watch for another set of red beams. After Carmilla’s final throw to the ground, take the opening to land your finishing attacks.
