Lunar Awakening Event Guide

The Season of the Construct is well underway in Sanctuary, and Blizzard is celebrating the Year of the Dragon with the Diablo 4 Lunar Awakening event.

The Lunar Awakening event is a Time-Limited event that will start at 10 am PST on February 6th and end at the same time on February 20th.

You’ll have time to prepare before the event launches, so check out our tier list to ensure you’re ready when the event launches.

To get started during this event, you’ll want to travel to Ked Bardu, as there will be a new NPC in the northern section of the town called Ying-Yue, the leader of the Lunar Night Market.

This will be your central hub for the Lunar Awakening Event and where you’ll be redeeming your Ancestor’s Favor reputation for Lunar Renewal-themed rewards.

During the event, all shrines throughout the game can now spawn as Lunar Shrines. These Lunar Shrines will contain an additional buff while active, giving the player the following bonuses.

• 50% Bonus XP (Multiplicative)
• 30% Increased Movement Speed
• An Augmented Lunar Shrine effect
• While Active, killing monsters earns Ancestors Favor Reputation

You should be able to identify these Shrines quickly, as they will be adorned with a Dragon and show up on the Map with a unique Map Icon.

You will also earn Ancestors Favor’s reputation through the Tree of Whispers, as Lunar Awakening-themed Whisper Bounties will now be available throughout the event.

These Lunar Shrines, as mentioned before, will give the player a plethora of extra buffs. Lunar Shrines will also provide an exciting new bonus effect on top of their regular Shrine power called Augmented Lunar Shrine effects. You can find these effects below.

• Artillery Shrine – Casts have a chance to summon a holy bomb.
• Blast Wave Shrine – Each explosion summons a cluster bombardment.
• Channeling Shrine– Increased attack speed and chance to reset cooldowns.
• Conduit Shrine – Summon frequent, powerful, shocking strikes.
• Greed Shrine – Chance to summon a Treasure Goblin. While the Shrine is active, 25 kills summons a Treasure Goblin, and 50 kills summons a second.
• Lethal Shrine – Chance to instantly execute a struck monster, causing Fear on surrounding monsters. Note: this includes Elites, but excludes Bosses and other Players.
• Protection Shrine – You reflect all incoming damage. Damage reflected scales with Level and World Tier.

On top of all of this, during the event, Nightmare Dungeon Sigils will have a chance to have the dungeon affix Ancestor’s Favor, which will guarantee only Lunar Shrines spawn within that Nightmare Dungeon.

There will be 10 Ancestor’s Favor reputation levels in total that you’ll be able to earn and six different Lunar-themed Cosmetics to unlock.

Tejal’s Shop will also have Lunar Awakening-themed garments available for you during this Lunar Awakening Event.

This event might be as good as the last limited-time event, Midwinter Blight; I think it may even be better, as instead of being forced to farm in a Helltide-specific zone, the Lunar Shrines will appear in almost all forms of content, allowing you to gain those Lunar Shrine benefits everywhere.

This also enables you to farm the reputation faster with the unique Lunar event Nightmare Dungeon Sigils, and you’ll have another method of leveling alts as you’ll have a 50% increased XP gain from the shrines inside those Dungeons.
