What Changes Are Coming

Blizzard has released a forum post stating that they will release Patch 3.1.1a for Season 14: Death Awakening. The patch will be released on Thursday, July, 16th 2026.

Here's a quick Summary:

  • Patch 3.1.1a will go live on July 16th for PC and July 17th for Consoles.
  • Crafted Mythic Equip Limit Removed: You are no longer restricted to having only one "Crafted" Mythic Unique equipped at a time. This restriction has been entirely lifted for the rest of Season 14.
    • They plan to re-evaluate this in Season 15 when the Horadric Cube gets a direct Mythic upgrade system
  • Increased Drop Rates: The drop rates for both standard Mythic Uniques and the Iconic Mythic Uniques from the Corrupted Reaper boss (new in S14) have been officially increased.
  • Cube Bug Fix: They removed the ability to apply the Mythic modifier to Unique Charms and Seals in the Horadric Cube. This was an unintended bug from a previous patch, not an actual Season 14 feature.

Mythic Drops and Crafting

Blizzard has released the following statement concerning Mythic Unique Drop Rates:

"We’ve heard your feedback on Season of Death Awakening, including Mythic unique drop rates, equip limits, and more.

In a patch releasing today, we’re increasing the drop rate for Mythics from the Corrupted Reaper boss fight and removing equip limits for Mythic Uniques. Additionally, in a patch coming next week, we’re adding Superior Lair Keys to the Glints of Hope repeatable cache and increasing the Mythic Tribute drop rates in the Undercity.

Seasons are where we experiment with new ideas and push Diablo IV in new directions. Not every idea lands exactly as intended, but we’ll continue listening to your feedback, addressing what’s not working, and applying those lessons to future seasonal updates.

As always, we’ll keep you updated as we have more to share about the future of Mythics!

Patch Notes 3.1.1a

Note: This Patch will release for Consoles on July 17, so until then, cross-play will be disabled. Once the Patch releases for Consoles, cross-play will be re-enabled.

Updates

  • Removed the “one-crafted Mythic” equipment restriction on Mythic items.
    • Developer’s Note: In S15’s Horadric Cube, we’re removing Mythic reroll crafting and adding a direct upgrade to Mythic that preserves the original Unique Item. We’ll evaluate bringing back this rule for that specific crafting path only.
  • Increased the drop rates of Mythic and Iconic Unique Items from the Corrupted Reaper.

Bug Fixes

  • Removed the ability to add the Mythic modifier to Unique Charms & Seals in the Cube.
    • Developer’s Note: This was not an intended feature for S14 and was an unintended side effect of a different fix.

Closing Thoughts & Summary

These fixes really seem to hit the biggest pain points of the community, finally bringing relief for the critical issues presented.
