Build Overview

I love playing with the controller on this build, better than Keyboard.

This Profane Sentinel Warlock build lets you spawn your minions and deal a massive amount of damage with them. It's a really unique way to play the Warlock class because your whole playstyle relies on the summons instead of you doing the damage yourself.

My Leaderboard Version

This is the version I used to get my top 10 placement. The only change is that I am playing with Tyrant's Grasp, but I only used it once for the Tower Push. I do not find Tyrant's Grasp to be fun to play with and generally I do not use it. Feel free to remove the Dark Prison and play with Tyrant's Grasp and use a Dark Prison Rune instead of using the Dark Shroud Rune.

This is the min-max version of my build, so read it carefully. It runs with the Seed of Horazon amulet.

Uniques are tough to find with good rolls. Most people will be better off using a regular amulet instead of forcing the Seed of Horazon. You can run the unique as your charm instead. Otherwise you're gonna lose a ton of damage.

Nether Step is your main mobility tool and also generates Shadow Form stacks.
Rampage is your main damage skill — make sure to turn it into an Abyss skill with the right passive so you can recast it for big damage.
Dark Prison gives you damage reduction and Fortify, while also triggering some of your aspects.

Your ultimate is Metamorphosis (Terror Demon Metamorphosis). This one is mandatory because it gives you Shadowstep every second and adds a ton of ranks to your Abyss skills. Without it the build loses a lot of power.

Profane Sentinel is the main damage — it applies Vulnerable and adds extra damage. You don’t really need to cast it while clearing mobs, but you can teleport it with Nether Step to keep it up easily.

Your Greater Demon skill is Summon Laalish.

keep Metamorphosis active as much as possible, spam Blazing Scream for cooldown of your Nether Step so you can move around and build Shadow Form stacks, and slot Dark Prison for defense and utility when needed.

Key Items for the Build

We're gonna now make a list of items and tell you what you actually need. We're using Heir of Perdition for this version. It is necessary to have it to crit cap your build, with only the The Grandfather as the other source of critical strike chance. The rest comes from your Aspect of Calamity.

The Aspect of Heavenly Strength aspect on the chest is very powerful and adds damage reduction. The Temerity pants are an insane defensive bulwark of shield that you get by healing with your mercenary Variana. You do not have any other source of life on hit and that's where you get it.

The Footfalls of the Waning World are a very important item and need to have attack speed with cooldown. The Crushing Aspect Aspect is very strong but it's best to run with the summoner aspect for increased damage because it is slightly stronger. It's called Hellbent Commander Aspect. It is possible to switch out the The Grandfather for another offensive aspect and do more damage.

Of course the Seed of Horazon is a key item in this build and deals damage based on how much resources you have, which we get extra from the The Grandfather and also from our Ultimate and our tree, our Paragon tree.

In terms of sets for your charms we're going to use the Horizon's Chain set. And if you have the Mythical Seal then of course you can use that.

I'm using the Crown of Lucion as my charm for a 90% damage multiplier. Because we are able to spam our core skill with this build, the Blazing Scream, turning it into a recast skill doesn't really cost resources and so we can afford to play the Crown of Lucion for another 90% damage multiplier.

Skill Points and Alternatives

I believe that ranks on Metamorphosis doesn't really do anything. Therefore you technically have spare points in this build that you don't use and can't use on anything. If you want to though you are able to switch one of the skills to play Tyrant's Grasp. And Tyrant's Grasp will allow you to have more damage at the cost of making the build a lot more annoying.

For the glyphs we're using Abyssal and Attrition because this is our Archfiend build.

Demonologist has a great amount of damage multiplier in it and high scaling. Destruction has a critical damage multiplier glyph that is good only if you run crit. If you don't have a lot of critical strike chance it's okay to not run crit.

Mastermind is a very good damage multiplier with 18% damage while in Shadowform.

I'm gonna have to rework the mercenary section a bit.

For mercenaries, you can run Subo for the visibility and movement speed, or you can run Varyana for the extra attack speed. The life leech on her is also pretty decent.

If you go with Varyana, then as your reinforcement you can use Al'Kin for the damage reduction

How it Plays

Nether Step is your mobility skill. It also generates Shadow Form stacks, which is very important for this build.
Profane Sentinel is your main damage skill. You need to turn it into an milti minion skill with the right passive so you can Recast it and increase how many Sentinels you have.
Dark Prison reduces the damage you take and gives you Fortify. It also activates some of your aspects.
Your ultimate is Metamorphosis (Abyssal Form). This is mandatory for the build to function because it grants Shadowstep per second. Blazing Scream is great for applying debuffs and knocking and gives extra damage on bosses. You don’t need to cast it while clearing mobs, but you can teleport it with Nether Step to keep it up all the time without any hassle.
Your Greater Demon skill is Summon Laalish.
Direct Control Blazing Scream needs to be spammed to reduce the cooldown of your Nether Step with the boots Footfalls of the Waning World

How it Works

Horizon Chain Set Bonus and Greater Demons

The set bonus of the Horizon Chain set increases the damage that we deal the more great demons we have. So let's make a count of all the greater demons we have:

We can have up to five Profane Sentinel. We can have one plus three extra Shard Demons, which also happen to be greater demons. That is because of the five set bonuses of the Horizon Chain set. It allows us to spawn all the other Legion Shard Demon, Vanguard Shard Demon, and also Ritualist Shard Demon on top of the Mastermind Shard Demon, which is our Summon Laalish. Whenever we cast its skill it will summon the other Shard Demons. This increases our damage.

On top of that we also have one extra demon in the form of the Direct Control Blazing Scream. This skill is called Blazing Scream, which is also a greater demon and therefore increases the damage we deal.

If you're playing the push variant of the build and you want to add the Tyrant's Grasp, which has the Abyssal Pit Tyrant's Grasp passive, it will also be a greater demon and also increase the damage further.

To reduce the cooldown of our Nether Step and increase the duration of our demons we use Blazing Scream, which procs the effect of the Footfalls of the Waning World of the Waning World Boots, allowing us to spam our Nether Step, which increases the duration of all our greater demons by three seconds.
