Build Overview

Welcome to the Command Fallen "Lunatic Warlock" endgame build guide. I first saw the build played by Wudijo but so far I've made some small changes to some of the stats that are slightly more damage. And I will probably develop a critical strike chance build in the future.

This guide is work in progress and more updates are coming in as we get more information closer to the Lord of Hatred launch.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Not Clunky
  • Fast
  • Good Damage
  • No Screen Clutter
  • AOE on the smaller side

Build Variants

This version of the build is built around the Aspect of Mutilation and can easily do Pit 150.

Blizzard recently bug fixed this aspect, which now lets us eviscerate enemies that are already bleeding. We do this by first applying bleed with Rampage, then triggering the aspect using our basic skill Command Fallen.

Command Fallen interacts directly with our Evisceration Fragment, making the whole combo very smooth and strong. This interaction is the main reason the build feels so good right now.

Stats considerations:

This version of the build has a lot of life rolls everywhere it can have it including rings besides on the amulet. But I don't think you need that much life. As well this build is running with maximum life and GA on the weapon for maximum life. I do not think any of that is necessary.

I also do not like weapon damage as a stat on weapons. It is actually very low value. It has been nerfed quite a bit. I would say that in terms of priority vulnerable damage is the highest with willpower being the second. And all damage and physical damage are both better than weapon damage with the caveat that if you get the correct configuration on your weapon that increases the damage your gems then you would want to have weapon damage instead of all damage or physical damage because they would be additive in that case.

Best Stats:

  • Damage Over Time (Only eviscerate Version)
  • Vulnerable
  • Atk Speed
  • Will

Uniques:

List for the uniques in this build:

  • Cage of Madness drops from Grigoire
  • Paingorger's Gauntlets also drops from @Grigoire
  • Seed of Horazon drops from Grigoire
  • Temerity drop from the Harbinger (good option)

Talismans

Talisman Priority
+6

For charms it is important to know that you're running four Phoba of Horazon's Chains sets and two sets of the Phoba of the Nameless because with the Mythical seal you can reduce the requirements for the bonuses to be active. That is only possible if you have the Mythical Seal. If you do not have that just run five Linta of Horazon's Chains sets.

Mercenary

For mercenaries I like to run Variana because of the Taste of Flesh which allows you to heal a lot. This build also runs Life on Kill which works with your Command Fallen where they die and then you get life back. And I think if you play with Temerity which I think it's stronger as it doubles your HP with a perfect roll then I think running Variana with Taste of Flesh is best. And Aldkin reduces the damage you take.

How it Plays

Skill Rotation

Basic Version

  • Evade is used to move from pack to pack. You do lose damage when you are in your evade form, your Lunatic form.
  • Spawn Command Fallen whenever you have to deal damage of course.
  • Stay inside the Tortured Wretch. It will protect you, absorb damage, and therefore increase your defenses.
  • Use Sigil of Summons roughly on cooldown to increase your damage with the set bonus if you have the Mythical Seal.
  • Demonic Smash Rampage is your mobility skill. Use it when you need mobility.
  • Cast Summon Ae'grom every 12 seconds at least to keep the active debuff from your set bonus online. This will summon all 4 Shard Demons and increase your damage and defense.

Evisceration Version

  • Start every fight by casting Rampage. This applies bleed to enemies, which is required to trigger the Aspect of Mutilation later. Don’t spam it mindlessly, though, watch your Dominance.
  • Keep Summon Ae'grom active at all times. It has a 12-second duration, so refresh it as soon as it drops. This is your most important skill because it activates the big buff from your Fer of Horazon's Chains.
  • Pop Metamorphosis at the start It empowers all your skills and gives you extra damage based on how much health you have.
  • Use Command Fallen whenever enemies are bleeding from Rampage. This is when you trigger the Aspect of Mutilation for big eviscerate damage.
  • Tortured Wretch is your tankiness tool. Use it when you need to soak damage or stay alive during tough fights.
  • Damage Sigil of Summons should be used on cooldown. It summons an extra great demon and increases your damage.

How it Works

Eviscerate

Apply bleed with Rampage, use Aspect of Mutilation with Command Fallen in combination with Evisceration Fragment to bleed enemies repeatedly till they explode.

How the Build Works

It is obviously a Command Fallen build so Command Fallenn is doing most of the damage using the item Cage of Madness.

Mobility

The Cage of Madness allows you to transform into a lunatic when you use your evade. This isn't actually increasing your damage. This is more for your mobility. You transform into a lunatic when you want to move quickly and run away from your enemies or move towards another pack.

Basic Skill Playstyle

The build is a basic skill so we are using for gloves the Paingorger's Gauntlets which allows us to do more AoE damage with our basic skills. And that's good because being a basic skill does not have the largest AoE. In a way it is also one of the main perks of the build that it has very little screen clutter. And I like that very much.

Healing

We are healing in a very special way with Life on Kill. Every time we cast our main skill Command Fallen we are actually killing one of our demons and that will proc Life on Kill. That's why I like Temerity very much in this build and I decided to go with that item over maybe running Aspect of Might.

Weapon and Shards

For weapon we have the Hellbent Commander Aspect Aspect but it is also a consideration that if you want to run the mythical item The Grandfather that would also be a good option if you decide to go for a critical strike chance build.

In terms of shards we are running with the Legion Shard which provides us with more attack speed for our build and a multiplicative type of attack speed which allows us to go beyond the cap.

Key Skills

Metamorphosis is always active with this build and you should always keep it active. Do not turn it off. It will increase your damage.

The other skills that we have are the Tortured Wretch which is just a giant meat shield for us. It absorbs a portion of the damage that enemies inflict on us.

The Sigil of Summons is something that we use only if you have the Mythical Seal which allows us to benefit from the second set bonus which increases our damage when we cast Sigil of Summons. That is the Phoba of the Nameless. Remember that your main set is the Phoba of Horazon's Chains set and that is the one you want to always have online.

Demonic Smash Rampage is a mobility skill. It doesn't really do much else other than being good mobility.
