Build Overview

The Sigil of Summons Warlock Build Guide teaches you about Gear, Skills, Paragon, Playstyle & Seasonal Mechanics in Diablo 4 Season 13.

The build uses every possible way to summon minions. The whole point is just to have fun and play a really cool minion build.

We’re running Sigil of Summons, Command Fallen, Bombardment, Rampage, and Fiend of Abaddon. That’s pretty much it lol, the build is all about summoning as many demons as possible and just enjoying the chaos.

This guide is work in progress and more updates are coming in as we get more information closer to the Lord of Hatred launch.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Cool minion playstyle
  • Play Smarter not Harder
  • Army
  • Not the highest dps
  • Less mobility

Build Variants

Mythic Items (Optional)

This version of the Summon Minion Warlock runs with two Mythic items: Harlequin Crest and El'druin, Sword of Justice.

That said, neither of them is actually required for the build to function. You can play the entire build without them and it will still work perfectly fine. They just make the experience smoother and stronger, especially for pushing higher Pit tiers.

Soul Shards

We’re playing with the Legion Shard for this Summon Minion Warlock build.

Casting any greater demon skill gives a nice boost to the cast speed of all your lesser demons and reduces their cooldowns. That’s already a solid bonus by itself.

The main reason we chose this shard, though, is the Spawn Fragment. It passively spawns Vile Child lesser demons every second, giving you more demons to play with.

Key Uniques

The uniques this build is running are Ae'grom's Schism, Harlequin Crest, El'druin, Sword of Justice, and The Fecund Seal.

These are the more important ones you should be aiming for. None of them are actually necessary for the build to function though, you can play it perfectly fine without any of them.

If you’re trying to focus farm them, Duriel and Andariel are probably your best bet early on. And of course, if you plan on running Belial, you can target farm your The Fecund Seal and Ae'grom's Schism there as well.

Runes

My choice for runes is not about maximizing damage. Instead, I went for mobility because this build is lacking a little bit in that area.

I’m running Nagu Jah so that our Evade turns into the Sorcerer’s blink instead.

I’m also running Igni with Vex to get +1 rank to all skills. Since this build uses a lot of different skills to summon minions, this gives us extra damage across the board.

Talismans

Since we’re not using Metamorphosis in this build, we focus our charms on ranks to Demonology and Maximum Resource.

We’re also running the Seed of Horazon, which increases the damage of our Demonology skills based on how much resource we have, and reduces damage taken based on our current Dominance. This effect gets even better if you run the Aspect of Authority, which gives you an extra 10 Dominance.

We're running with the set charm of the Fer of the Nameless, which uses a lot of cool things, a lot of damage reduction, and it works a lot around sigils, so casting your Sigil of Summons and making sure that you proc it is a core part of the build, as you also get most of the value of running the other sigils without having to actually invest in it, because you're casting them for free due to the set bonus.

Seal

We could use the Seal slot to reduce our set bonus Fer of the Nameless requirements from five down to four and run a 4+2 setup.

But honestly, I think it’s better to just use that slot for damage. You can also go for extra defenses there if you feel like you need more survivability.

In this build, I'm taking Sigil of Subversion and Sigil of Chaos, but I'm not actually running their final passives because in theory that should not work with the Setcharm bonus, but we need to test that and see if maybe we can actually use them.

Paragon Board

For the glyphs and paragon priority, right now I don’t have the fully optimized paragon board yet for the different levels of the game.

What’s important is that you don’t try to complete every single board. Just move toward the legendary bonuses on the paragon boards and avoid spending all your points finishing the first board completely.

That way you get the strongest bonuses as early as possible instead of wasting points on filler nodes.

Mercenary

For mercenaries, I’m running Subo. His Opening Fire skill gives a nice increase to critical strike damage, but the real reason I like him here is the extra movement speed you get whenever you damage elite enemies. It’s always welcome.

Our secondary mercenary is Varyana. She gives a solid chunk of attack speed through her Bloodthirst skill, which feels really good with all the minions running around.

How it Plays

  1. Make sure your Legion Shard skill is on your action bar and keep your main demon summoned at all times.
  2. Cast Bombardment to proc your Sigil of Summons. This also triggers the bonuses from the other two sigils you’re running thanks to the set charm.
  3. Spam Rampage to quickly max out the number of demons you have. Try not to burn through all your Dominance, though, you still want some left so you keep the damage reduction from the Seed of Horazon.
  4. Use Fiend of Abaddon on cooldown for big bursts of extra demons and damage.
  5. Use Command Fallen once every 20 seconds for resource generation and more fallen minions.

That’s the entire rotation. Keep your demon summoned, proc the sigil with Bombardment, and just spam Rampage while refreshing the other skills on cooldown. The build basically plays itself once you get going.

How it Works

We’re running the Fer of the Nameless in this build. Its set bonus gives us various bonuses from all the sigils when we cast Sigil of Summons, even though we’re not actually running every single one on the bar. It’s a nice extra help, but it’s not required for the build to work.

The real core of this Summon Minion Warlock is simple: have as many minions as possible and just have fun with a super minion-heavy playstyle. This build isn’t trying to compete with the absolute top meta builds, it’s made to feel like the most “minion-like” experience you can get on the Warlock.

We run Fiend of Abaddon as our ultimate because it does a ton of damage and floods the screen with even more demons. It has a long cooldown, but we recover it faster thanks to the Mythic weapon El'druin, Sword of Justice (nice to have, but definitely not required).

Sigil of Summons is activated automatically whenever we cast Bombardment. That’s our main skill, it summons demons and kills them at the same time, which is a really cool way to proc all our sigil bonuses.

Rampage is our bread-and-butter skill. It consumes Dominance and summons the biggest, strongest demons (Greater Demons and Archfiends).

We use Command Fallen once every 20 seconds or so. It gives us extra Dominance and Wrath without needing to worry about resource generation otherwise.

That’s the whole idea — flood the screen with demons, proc your sigils with Bombardment, spam Rampage, and enjoy the chaos.
