Build Overview

The Blazing Scream Warlock Leveling Build Guide teaches you about Gear, Skills, Paragon, Playstyle & Seasonal Mechanics in Diablo 4 Season 15.

This leveling build centers on Blazing Scream with the Orbital Scream variant.
You cast a fiery demon skull that orbits you for 10 seconds, dealing massive damage without costing much Wrath.

Channel it to speed the orbit up and refresh the duration. It turns the screen into a constant spinning hellfire zone that clears packs while you stay mobile.

This first version of the build does not have access to Orbital Scream, which unlocks at level 15.

It is a basic setup that also uses a Basic skill.

Since we are running Blazing Scream, we need solid Wrath generation to keep casting it.

Once we unlock the Orbital Scream variant, the skull stays orbiting us on its own. We no longer need the Basic skill just to generate resources.

Put Movement Speed on your boots.

If they are not Rare, make them Rare with the Horadric Cube, then temper them at the Blacksmith.

You can do the same on an amulet.

If you get an amulet with Movement Speed, make it Rare with the Cube, then temper Movement Speed at the Blacksmith.

Those are the only two pieces that really matter.

Aspects

The only useful Aspect is Edgemaster's Aspect. You can find the Edgemaster's Aspect in Diablo 4 by completing the Old Stones dungeon located in the Scosglen region

On an amulet, it gives 90% damage.

Because you stay at full resources while playing this build, it is basically double damage.

Once you have double Movement Speed on boots and amulet, you virtually never change them until much later. At least not until Torment.

Nether Step Your main mobility skill. Use it to move around faster and reposition between packs.
Summon Abodian Second movement tool. Mount up for extra speed when you need to cover ground quickly.
Blazing Scream This is your main source of damage. Spam it to clear everything. Once you unlock the Orbital Scream variant, the skull orbits you on its own. You no longer need the Basic skill for resource generation.
Summon Abodian is an insane Skill, it gives you mobility and drags enemies with you.
Profane Sentinel is great single target.
Terror Swarm is big damage while leveling, especially vs Bosses.

Dark Prison is the only other skill worth adding at the end. Everything else is unnecessary. Focus on mobility and one-shotting packs with Blazing Scream.

Frequently Asked Questions

Blazing Scream is a skill with fantastic reach as it bounces of walls and generates homing projectiles with Skull Splitter Blazing Scream. This even gives it the ability to clear monsters offscreen!

Because Skill Variants get unlocked at different Levels we will be making the following changes as we level:

Level 15
- Molten Bomb -> Orbital Scream remove your basic attack, we do not need Wrath anymore.
Level 36
- Chain Aura -> Dark Prison isn't good till you unlock chain Aura.
Level 40
- Searing Infestation is unlocked.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get better gear without Uniques?

Go to the PvP area and turn yourself Blood Marked from the Action Wheel.

Yes, you can be killed while marked. In practice, there is almost no one in the PvP area.

Look for the black/red glowing chests. They drop gear that is higher level than it should be at your level, plus a lot of materials and gold for upgrades.

Temper everything with Max Life and Damage. You should be virtually immortal.

The only decent Aspect is Edgemaster's Aspect from Oldstone Dungeon. It gives extra damage.

If you do this, you stay super OP.
