Strengths and Weaknesses

  • High Damage Output
  • Easy Playstyle
  • Low Entry Requirements
  • Not The Strongest Push Build
  • Defensive Issues Top End

Build Variants

This is the version to aim for before getting Mythics carrying on directly from the Starter Variant.

At this point we look to move the Rod of Kepeleke to the Talisman as a Rod of Kepeleke.

You will ideally have a Harmony of Ebewaka, Hesha e Kesungi, Ring of the Midnight Sun and a Rod of Kepeleke by this point which makes the build functional and boosts the build damage dramatically.

Everything else is Optional but very nice to have.

If you have everything this required be sure to check out the Mythic Variant for Next Steps.

Mercenary

Aldkin (Secondary)

We take Aldkin as our Secondary for the 40% Slow Movement and 20% Damage Reduction on affected enemies.

How it Plays

The main focus here is to apply attacks as Fast as Possible so that Spirit Jaguar Rake will activate as often as possible causing all Rake Instances to Hit Twice and for Increased Damage.

The Rod of Kepeleke allows us to Critical Strike on demand as long as we have full resource whilst allowing us to hit much harder.

Once we get to the later versions, we drop the Rod of Kepeleke in favour of scaling without it to allow us to use the Multitude Talisman Set and the Harmony of Ebewaka with Heir of Perdition combination for bigger damage.

The following steps are the recommended Build Rotation for skill usage:

Standard

  • Cast Ravager for Vigor Generation and Additional Cooldown Rate.
  • Cast Scourge for Vigor Generation and Vulnerable Application.
  • Cast Toxic Skin for access to Additional Armour, Vigor Generation and Weakness Application.
  • Cast Vortex for Damage Reduction and to Pull In Enemies.
  • Cast The Protector for Barrier Generation and Unstoppable.
  • Cast Rake liberally around the other skills.

Speed Farm

  • Cast Rushing Claw to move around
  • Cast Ravager for Vigor Generation and Additional Cooldown Rate.
  • Cast Scourge for Vigor Generation and Vulnerable Application.
  • Cast Vortex for Damage Reduction and to Pull In Enemies.
  • Cast The Protector for Barrier Generation and Unstoppable.
  • Cast Rake liberally around the other skills.

Simian Swipe (Gorilla Rake)

  • Cast Ravager for Vigor Generation and Additional Cooldown Rate.
  • Cast Scourge for Vigor Generation and Vulnerable Application.
  • Cast Toxic Skin for access to Additional Armour, Vigor Generation and Weakness Application.
  • Cast Vortex for Damage Reduction and to Pull In Enemies.
  • Cast The Hunter for Mobility and Ferocity Generation.
  • Cast Rake liberally around the other skills.

Repeat each step as necessary

How it Works

Build Overview

This Rake Spiritborn focuses on optimising the damage from Rake either from the Spirit Jaguar Rake or Simian Swipe Rake Variants whilst staying tanky enough to beat all End Game Content. It does this through the following:

  • The Rod of Kepeleke allows Rake to be a Basic and Core skill in the Starter Variant.
  • Doubles Each Instance of Rake with Spirit Jaguar Rake
  • Utilising all Four Spirit Halls, Gorilla, Jaguar, Eagle and Centipede via the Harmony of Ebewaka and Multitude Talisman Set.
  • Big Resistances from the Multitude Talisman Set.
  • Auto-Procs of Concussive Stomp.
  • Toxic Skin for Additional Armour and Weakness Application.
  • Scourge for Crowd Control, Vigor Generation, Damage Reduction and Vulnerable Application.
  • The Protector for incredible Utility including the Pull In from the Hesha e Kesungi.
  • High Mobility using the Speed Farming Variant.
  • Huge Damage and Defence via Resolve Stacking.
  • Maxing Attack Speed through Aspects, Equipment, Paragon and Ferocity.
  • Barrier for extreme tankiness.

Check out the In-Depth Explanations below for further details on the build.

FAQ

If you have any questions about this guide feel free to reach out to me whilst live on Twitch, YouTube, Kick or X or contact me offline via my Discord.

How much Resource Generation Do I need?

For the Starter and Endgame Variants we use the Rod of Kepeleke / Rod of Kepeleke and the Ring of the Midnight Sun to simplify the attack loop until we can fully move off these items towards a higher damage version.

With the reduction of Resource Generation Sources across the board it has now become more difficult to enable you to activate the Rod of Kepeleke on Every Single Hit which is where our Big Damage comes from.

The Easiest way to achieve this is to use the Ring of the Midnight Sun which escaped the Resource Source Nerfs and can still Restore 50% Resource Spent in the Last 2 Seconds on a Critical Strike. The pairs excellently with the Rod of Kepeleke because this will spend 100% Resource when at Maximum Resource to guarantee a Critical Strike.

This means that we need to achieve 100% Resource Generation on the build along with a Maximum Rolled Ring of the Midnight Sun at 50% to enable a 100% Activation Rate when attacking with the Rod of Kepeleke.

For the later versions we opt not to use the Ring of the Midnight Sun in favour of More Damage from Legendary Aspects and we try to make up the difference through Tempers and Glyphs.

You can obtain the Resource Generation required from various sources including:

    • Intelligence
    • Resource Generation Tempers
    • Lucky Hit: Resource Tempers
    • Vigor Generation Ravager
    • Vigor Generation Toxic Skin
    • Vigor Generation Scourge
    • Fitness

How Much Attack Speed Do I Need?

Aim for 100% Attack Speed on Equipment, Aspects, Paragon, Mercenaries, Ferocity.

You can only attain Attack Speed in Attack Speed Bucket 2 via Cast Speed since the expansion so we are now limited to 100% Attack Speed unless using the Rezoka's Rage Talisman Set or Cast Speed Rake.
