Build Overview

Firewall is strong for leveling in diablo 4 and has no necessary unique items or aspects. Firewall is reliable every season with it's great area of effect damage, survivability, low mana costs, and high boss damage. Firewall has an A+ rating with the Monster Killing Bureau and is guaranteed to cook the competition (alive).

Build Variants

Wing the skill tree until you reach Firewall

I recommend using Incinerate and Fire Bolt Summoned Hydra until you reach Firewall in the mastery section

Enchantments

Teleport enchant gives you a Teleport evade on a 5 second cooldown. Once you get Enchantment Master early in Torment 1 this will drop to 3.5 seconds. You also get the effects of Enhanced Teleport for movement speed, and Mystical Teleport to make crackling for Convulsions damage
Fireball enchant creates a Fireball explosion whenever a monster dies, which can create chain reactions and aid in leveling efficiency. Kill 1 monster and the rest usually just explode with it.

Leveling Path

Use Shimmering Teleport over Mystical Teleport until you reach Convulsions in the leveling path
The leveling path doesn't really start until you reach Firewall so sort of wing it until then, then respect to match what I have

Paragon Board

When you first get the paragon you want to bum rush legendary nodes that provide 50-60% damage increases. More value than glyphs until your glyphs are like Level 46

Swap these around as you see fit, they are not as impactful as previous seasonal powers
Essence of Anguish grants 30% movement speed
Essence of Sin grants 20% armor
Essence of Shadows can save you from dying while crowd controlled
Essence of Squalor makes leveling in Helltide faster by creating XP globes when you kill maggots. It also grants a healing potion every 20 seconds.

Mercenary

Subo grants us maphacks and provides us with a 25% damage buff to Firewall with his Scorched Earth Molotov's

Raheir gives us a cheeky protection dome when we are injured that grants damage reduction

How it Plays

Starter Build Level 1-60

Firewall is your main damage caster. Spam it
Fire Bolt is used sparingly on beefy single targets to help ramp up damage with Glinting Fire Bolt
Familiar is used off cooldown for 10% damage from Invoked Familiar
Ice Armor is used for a barrier. Shimmering Ice Armor will help reduce it's cooldown
Teleport is casted off the skill bar for movement. Teleport enchant gives you an evade teleport you can use every 5 seconds. These will both make crackling energy with Mystical Teleport which is used for damage when you reach Convulsions. Use Shimmering Teleport for elemental resistance prior to that point
Flame Shield is your get out of jail free card that provides 2 seconds of Immunity

How it Works

Firewall is a pyromancy sorcerer skill which deal fire damage
Firewall's damage is burning damage over time, which cannot critically strike
Damage over time builds scale well early for leveling because they have higher multipliers to make up for them not being able to critically strike
Examples include Aspect of Engulfing Flames, Combustion, Endless Pyre, Enhanced Firewall, Glinting Fire Bolt, Burning Instinct, and Torch.
