Build Overview

Charged Bolts is finally a solid build. With Chaos Armor you can now slot the Staff of Lam Esen on a defensive slot, which greatly increases the skills damage by freeing up your wand and focus for aspects.

In addition, the seasonal powers are extremely strong for Core skills, especially on Sorc. Advanced Techniques scales our Core damage to the moon, at the cost of extra mana cost.

Thankfully we have the seasonal poewr mana shield which gives us a hefty life/mana pool of 10,000+. This build utilizes Wizard's Blizzard to regen 500+ mana per second to maintain this beefy pool.

This build is capable of getting a 1 attack teleport evade, should perform solidly in Pit, and should have no problem trashing bosses and Infernal Hordes.

    How it Plays

Cast Blizzard every 8 seconds to upkeep your Wizard Blizzard Mana regen, and on packs to freeze them for hoarfrost.
Cast Spark 3 times every 5 seconds, to upkeep 60% damage. You can also weave them in every 1.5 seconds.

Charged Bolts is spammed at mid range and you let them do their thing and smash things. They will naturally multiply and fill the screen.

Unstable Currents is used whenever off cooldown, and you will teleport evade through enemies to reset it's cooldown.

Ice Blades is casted off Cooldown.

    Flex Slots
Some variants have flame shield, this is used to gain a tal rasha stack and a get out of jail free card.
Other variants use Lightning Spear, which is generally casted off cooldown.

    How it Works

Charged Bolts is a shock core skill that has you shotgun blast 5 bolts out from your hands. They travel a moderate distance and then hit enemies. With the Lam Esen Unique, the bolts last longer, travel farther, and deal more damage the longer they are in the air. For bossing this means you sort of want to sit a moderate distance away and blast at them.

With the Charged Bolt Enchantment you create extra charged bolts when you stun enemies. With the Piercing Static Aspect every time an enemy is hit by 3 casts of charged bolts they release 5 charged bolts. What does this mean? Basically your screen will be littered with Charged Bolts. Just pouring onto enemies.

Although Charged bolts has been a bit of a melee build in the past, due to how Lam Esen works you now play at range a bit. You just spam the crap out of Charged bolts and let them do their thing. It's a pretty fun build and it has great area of effect.

It should have nice damage this season with the Seasonal powers boosting core skill damage by an astronomical amount. You should be unkillable for the most part, and have amazing mana regen.

The dev team made some very good changes to Lam Esen & the piercing static aspect. I am pretty excited for this build.

    Teleport Evade Guide

    • In S10 you can get -4.0 sec per attack having Flickerstep Chaos Armor
    • This allows you to perma TP even with very low cooldown reduction!
    • There are breakpoints depending on which boots you use +TP skillranks
    • Rule of thumb is you get around 4-5% cooldown on top per teleport rank
    • This means you can multiply your TP Enchant CD times 0.82 with 5/5 TP
    • For Flickersteps you want your Teleport Enchant to show max 3.4 sec
    • For Legendary boots with 1.5 Implicit you want to reach 2.0 to be save
    • If you only have the base point in Teleport, you want at least 2.7 or 1.7

Blizzards tooltip doesn't show cooldown reduction you get from ranks

    Example:
    • Tooltip says 2.3sec in town, you have 5 points in Teleport and you use Vex:
    • Only added ranks count, therefore you have +7 in your Teleport skill, this means you get another 26% cooldown reduction on your enchantment:
    • 2.3 multiplied by 0.74 (1-0.26) = 1.702
    • This means even if you attack 5 times per second (every 200ms/12 Frames) you will have permanent Teleport
    • Simply multiply your tooltips cooldown by the number shown below:

    +1 Rank = 0.95 (5% CDR): TP Skillpoint
    +2 Ranks = 0.90 (10% CDR): TP Skillpoints
    +3 Ranks = 0.86 (14% CDR): TP Skillpoints/Vex
    +4 Ranks = 0.82 (18% CDR): TP Skillpoints/Shako
+5 Ranks = 0.79 (21% CDR): TP Ranks on Chest
+6 Ranks = 0.76 (24% CDR): TP Ranks on Chest
    +7 Ranks = 0.74 (26% CDR): TP Skillpoints+Vex
    +8 Ranks = 0.72 (28% CDR): TP Skillpoints+Shako
    +9 Ranks = 0.70 (30% CDR): TP Skillpoints+Shroud+Shako
    +11 Ranks = 0.66 (34% CDR): TP Skillpoints+Shako+Vex
    +12 Ranks = 0.65 (35% CDR): TP Skillpoints+Shako+Vex+Shroud
    +15 Ranks = 0.62 (38% CDR): TP Skillpoints+Shako+Vex+TP Ranks Chest
    +19 Ranks = 0.60 (40% CDR): (maximum)

How to get 1 Attack Teleport

    • In S10 you can get up to -4.0 seconds of evade cooldown per attack by using Flickerstep Chaos Armor (-2.5 sec) and regular legendary attacks reduce evade boots (-1.5 seconds)
    • This allows you to perma TP even with very low cooldown reduction!
    • There are breakpoints depending on which boots you use +Teleport skill ranks
    • The in game tooltip doesn't show the cooldown reduction you get from ranks
    • Rule of thumb is you get around 4-5% cooldown on top per teleport rank
    • This means you can multiply your TP Enchant tooltip cooldown times 0.82 with 5/5 Teleport Ranks

    • If ONLY using Flickersteps (attacks reduce evade by 2.5 seconds implicit) you want your Teleport Enchant to show max 3.4 sec
    • If ONLY using Legendary boots (attacks reduce evade by 1.5 seconds implicit) you want to reach 2.0 to be safe
    • If you are using the VEX rune which adds 3 ranks, this wiggle room gets larger

    • Maybe 3.7 and 2.3 in town Teleport Evade tooltip?

    Mana Regen

Wizard Blizzard gives us 1 mana regen per 20 Max mana. At just 10,000 Mana with Mana shield you are looking at 500 mana regen per second. That is all you need.

    Chaos Armor

Lam Esen is the priority in chest, pants, or boots.
Then you will want Crown of Lucion in another of those slots.
Lastly you will want Flickersteps. These can just be regular on your boots, they don't need to be chaos unless you get Boot slot for your other two chaos uniques.

The harlequin crest version uses Locran's Talisman over Crown of Lucion to offset the crit chance loss of losing Perdition.

The max damage version is quite the meme, but functionally will work. It foregoes boots and their attacks reduce evade implicit affix for more damage. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

    Seasonal Powers

Mana Shield gives us 10,000-15,000 max mana and that becomes our Life and Mana source. If we don't take any form of damage for 2 seconds, we activate 5000% mana regen. Some variants use flame shield to give us an opportunity for this to occur when we need it.
    • This build mainly uses Wizard's Blizzard to regen mana

Advanced Techniques grants us increased core damage per rank we have in the skill, at the cost of costing way more mana to cast. Which is not a problem due to mana shield. Ranks to core/Charged Bolts are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT

Power Siphon grants us 2x core damage, at the cost of reducing our max mana by 20 per cast for 6 seconds. This effect stacks, but the entire stack doesn't refresh upon cast. It's like a rolling amount. Again, because of mana shield... we are moisturized and unbothered.

Explosive Combinations - casting a basic increases all of our damage by 20% for 5 seconds, stacking up to 3 times for 60%
Every 5 seconds you will cast Spark 3 times and then go about your business until it expires. A slightly less annoying Hail of Verglas Ice Shard scenario. In farm content you can probably just ignore doing this.

    Elixir/Incense

Elixir - Advantage II for 15% attack speed
Incense 1 - Sages Whisper for 100 Intelligence. Use 60 All stats one if you need to hit paragon reqs
Incense 2 - Song of the Mountain for 300 armor
Incense 3 - Soothing Spices for all resistance, max all resistance, and some armor
