Build Overview

This is a complete Pulverize guide. Here you’ll find everything you need to start this build from zero all the way into endgame. We’ll need a key item like Rotting Lightbringer, so our Pulverizecan create poison puddles that massively increase our damage. Aspects like Aspect of the Ursine Horror are important as well, to convert our Bear skills into Earth skills…

A powerful build that, in Season 12, is once again at the top!

IMPORTANT:

  • Bloodied items will be under testing during the season, and I’ll be adding them as I try them out. For now, good options are attack speed, crit chance, and movement speed.

Elixirs and Incenses

ElixirElixir of Advantage
Core IncenseBlessed Guide
Defensive IncenseReddamine Buzz
Resistance IncenseSoothing Spices
  • The Elixir of Advantage is used to get more attack speed, which is very important for this build so it doesn’t feel slow while playing through the game’s activities. It also increases our DPS!
  • Use it when you have a good amount of materials and once you reach the level required to craft it.
  • The Blessed Guide increases our Willpower, which is the main attribute for the Druid.
  • Reddamine Buzz increases our maximum life, which also increases our Overpower damage and the barrier we get from Temerity. It’s not necessary from level 1 to 60.
  • Soothing Spices will increase all of our resistances, so defensively it’s key—especially when we’re trying to push high in the Tower or the Pit.

Skill Tree

  • Wind Shear is key for recovering resources, especially at the beginning …and to move faster.
  • In the skill tree, we’ll prioritize leveling Pulverize to maximize damage from the start
  • Then focus on defensive skills like Earthen Bulwark and Blood Howl
  • Poison Creeper will help us poison enemies and deal consistent damage, plus provide some crowd control while we level
  • After establishing this base of skills, we should start putting points into passives and in Petrify
  • Key passives should be a priority as soon as we can allocate a point there; in this case, it will be Ursine Strength

Paragon Board

  • At the start of the Paragon, we need to prioritize increasing Overpower Damage, which is why we start with the Glyph of Dominate to scale faster. It will also be the first glyph we should level
  • The next page will be Earthen Devastation, since it has been modified and its damage increased, making it the best option to continue with. Plus, the Glyph of Earth and Sky is one of the most powerful for the Druid this season
  • To finalize, with the starter version of the Paragon, we have the Survival Instincts page with the Glyph of Fang and Claw… But if you have the Rotting Lightbringer, I recommend using Keeper immediately

Mercenary

How it Plays

STARTER VERSION

  • Wind Shear will be our main skill for recovering resources — use it whenever necessary
  • Destroy everything with Pulverize
  • Activate Earthen Bulwark when you’re in danger to gain a barrier that absorbs damage and also makes you unstoppable.
  • Blood Howl will help us with Spirit regeneration and also increase our damage by 25%
  • Poison Creeper will help us with CC and DoT in the early levels — it’s extremely useful at the start
  • Petrify — use it whenever you can on large packs of enemies and on bosses. It will give you a huge damage boost, plus even more CC since it petrifies the monsters

GRIZZLY VERSION

  • Before activating Grizzly Rage, we alternate between Claw and Pulverize to stack the Quickshift passive
  • When we’re in this form, the chaos begins, and we’ll use Pulverize to crush our enemies
  • Repeat this way of playing when your Grizzly Rage timer runs out. Remember that now the effects of Aspect of the Rabid Beast work even when you’re not in the form, and Aspect of the Rampaging Werebeast does the same for 1 minute

How it Works

  • Our star item in this build is Rotting Lightbringer, which makes our Pulverize create poison puddles around us.
  • When we hit these puddles, they guarantee Overpower hits and scale your damage by a percentage based on the value on your weapon. This damage is then converted into poison damage.
  • This is where the Aspect of the Rabid Beast comes into play, since it converts our direct damage into poison. Because of that, Pulverize becomes 100% poison damage, allowing us to scale the damage of our core skill much more effectively with our passives and Paragon.
  • To reset our Ultimate, Grizzly Rage, we need to use Aspect of the Ursine Horror together with Calm Before the Storm.
  • Since Pulverize is a Bear skill, and with Aspect of the Ursine Horror it gains the Earth skill tag, this allows us to trigger this Spirit Boon. (Calm Before the Storm)
  • For defenses, we’ll use Temerity together with a Life on Hit affix to generate a barrier that absorbs damage before it affects our maximum life.
  • The way we generate this barrier is by healing or stealing life, which is why the Life on Hit affix is important—to keep that barrier active most of the time.
