  • How it Plays

    1. Cast Shadow Imbuement to Freeze with Icy Alchemist.
    2. Cast 4x Puncture.
    3. Cast Concealment against Elites.
4a. Cast Penetrating Shot on AoE.
4b. Cast Rapid Fire on single target.
    4. Repeat 4:1 Puncture -> Core Skill rotation until enemies are dead.
    5. Cast Dash for mobility.
    6. Cast Concealment for Unstoppable.

    How it Works

Although Penetrating Shot is an incredibly strong skill for AoE clearing, it has a very notable weakness when it comes to killing Elites, and more importantly, Bosses. To solve that weakness we include Rapid Fire, which is the strongest Rogue Skill for single target.

We use the Shadow Imbuement + Icy Alchemist combination to quickly Freeze all enemies, taking advantage of Penetrating Shot's high Lucky Hit Chance. This allows us to enable Frigid Finesse to its fullest potential.

    Duriel One Shot Build

Use this build to farm your much needed Harlequin's Crest and Starless Skies!

    Build Requirements and Replacements

    Unique Items

    • Harlequin Crest replaces Umbrous Aspectt. Swap in Armor% instead of Maximum Life or Damage Reduction on your Chest if you do. Also, put the 3 Skill Points used on Dark Shroud on Conceal and pick up Mixed Shadow Imbuement.
    • Starless Skies replaces Accelerating Aspect.
    • Skyhunter can be replaced with Edgemaster, adding Icy Alchemist to your sword.

    Item Affixes

    • Rings: You can replace Lucky Hit Chance with Critical Strike Damage w/ Imbued Skills
    • Swords/Crossbow: You can replace Core Skill Damage with Close Damage or Critical Strike Damage w/ Imbued Skills.

    Implicit Affixes

    • Use Swords and a Crossbow.
    • IMPORTANT: Attacks Reduce Evade Cooldown on Boots.

    Paragon Board Stat Requirements

    • Str: 540
    • Int: 520
    • Dex: 750

    Skill Choices and Explanations

    Basic Skills

We use Puncture because it's the strongest and fastest Basic Skill to enable Combo Points.

    Core Skills

We use Penetrating Shot in this build for AoE.

We also use Rapid Fire when we need to do single target damage.

X:1 Rotation means we use X Basic Skills for every 1 Core Skill.
For example, 1:1 Puncture -> TB means we alternate between using Puncture and Twisting Blades.

    Agility Skills

In this build, and most other Rogue builds, we use Dash.

Dash is overall a very strong mobility ability that lets you dash across the length of your screen.

    Subterfuge Skills

We use Concealment in this build and Dark Shroud indirectly.

Concealment provides us with the ability to Stealth, gain Resistances and Max Resistances. When entering Stealth we reduce the cooldown of Shadow Imbuement by 4 seconds because of the Nightstalker Glyph.

In this case we use Puncture, Penetrating Shot and Rapid Fire as our Marksman Skills.

    Imbuement Skills

We use Shadow Imbuement to increase our AoE damage and convert our damage into elemental, which allows us to scale it further.

    Ultimate Skills

We do not use an Ultimate Skill in this build.

    Armor and Resistances

    Armor

As of Season 2 it's much easier to reach the Armor cap so we no longer have to stack + Armor% on every slot.

You need roughly 7600 Armor to cap with a maxed Disobedience on your amulet and 9200 when the aspect is on an armor slot.

This means you need 2 Armor% affixes when you have Disobedience on an Armor slot and 1 affix when it's on your Amulet.

A third way of Armor capping is to use 3-4 Armor% affixes on your gear.

    Resistances

As of Season 2 the Resistance cap is 70% and up to 85% with +15% Maximum Resistance. This is now a very strong stat for elemental damage mitigation.

To cap your Resistances in this build you need 3x Resistance Affix and 2 of the same single Resistance on Rings. You will manage the rest with 1 Diamond and two other Gems.

    Example:

    • Cold, Lightning and Shadow Resistance on Boots (Cold, Shadow, Lightning, Fire and Poison possible)
    • 2x Fire Resistance implicit affix on Rings (Fire, Lightning and Poison possible)
    • 1x Amethyst (Shadow Res), 1x Emerald (Poison Res) and 1x Diamond (All Res) on Jewelry Gems.

    Senechal Construct

Senechal Construct is the Season 3 mechanic.

They are a Mech Spider that can be buffed through the use of Tuning Stones to do a wide array of things.

In this case, we use the Tempest skill potentiated with Safeguard and Fortify for Damage Reduction and Evernight for obvious reasons. If you don't have Evernight it can be replaced with Swift.

We also use Flash of Adrenaline combined with Duration, Genesis and Tactical to increase our damage.

    Bossing

You can swap your gloves with another pair with the following characteristics:

    • Inner Calm Aspect
    • +4 Rapid Fire
    • +X% Critical Strike Chance
    • +X% Attack Speed
    • +X% Dexterity

    Variations

    Shako and Starless

If you are a proud owner of Starless Skies and Harlequin Crest you can use the following version of the build:

    Shako

If you only have Harlequin Crest you can use the following version of the build:

    More Single Target Damage

If you feel you're fine on AoE and want more Single Target damage you can use the following Paragon Board change: Chip Tricks of the Trade.
