Minion Necromancer Leveling Build Guide

Build Overview

The Minion Necromancer is a super laid back build that dominates the entire way to level 70 in Diablo 4. Your dream of having a massive army fighting by your side is finally reality, as you use Raise Skeleton, Skeleton Mage, Golem and Army of the Dead. Sit back and blow up corpses with Corpse Explosion while your army decimates everything around you.

Equipment Priority

There are a lot of great Legendary Aspects that you can find to further increase your Damage and Toughness. At the end of the day you can equip whatever is an upgrade and not worry about what Aspects you find. If you do find any of the ones above, rejoice, you'll gain a ton of Damage or Toughness

This build like many prioritizes the following stats on gear:

Life on Kill
Movement Speed

Tempering

Throwing some Tempers on your gear can greatly increase your damage early on, but keep in mind you'll replace gear often while leveling up. Don't invest too heavily into your leveling gear until you're getting close to level 70.

Runewords

Cir + Gar provides tons of Critical Hit Chance that works great on almost any build. I'd avoid putting this runeword in gear super early as you'll wish you had it once you reach level 70 and have 850 item power gear.

Nagu + Ceh is a great way to get your Wolves up, more minions! The same rule applies here, I wouldn't toss this Runeword into an item before you get to level 70 and waste it, unless you have spares!

Talisman

Talisman Priority

For the Seal Damage, Critical Strike Chance, Critical Strike Damage are all good options to look for.

On your Charms it's unlikely to find this full Set while leveling up. look out for stats like Life, Bonus XP, Resistances, All Stats, Cooldown Reduction or Ranks to Minion Skills.

Leveling Path

Drop Bone Splinters and put the points into one of your Minion Skills once you unlock Army of the Dead.
At level 36 change your Golem from Gravebloom Golem to Gargantua Golem.
Once you unlock Army of the Dead you skill bar should consist of: Skeleton Mage, Skeleton Warrior, Golem, Corpse Explosion, Decrepify & Army of the Dead.

Mercenaries

Subo gives you Map Hack, Movement Speed and applies Vulnerability.

Aldkin provides you with 20% damage reduction when standing in his Field of languish. You need to level him up a bit to unlock this skill. Start off with Haunt until it's available.
