Build Overview

The Minion Necromancer is a very powerful endgame build in Diablo 4. Combining the power of Darkness Minions and Bloodless Scream allows you to sit back and watch your Army hit for insane amounts of damage while enemies await their demise in a frozen state. This build performs very well even without Bloodless Scream but reaches it's true power once you acquire this unique weapon.

If you enjoy a very tanky passive playstyle that can comfortably smash through the game, this is the build for you.

In Season 14 the Dominate Glyph got a massive nerf from 23.6% damage per stack to 1.8%. Because of this every build that was stacking Overpower has seen a significant damage loss. This guide has been updated to abandon using the Glyph.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Excellent Defense
  • CC Level Over 9000
  • Passive Playstyle

Build Variants

Farm the Unique Items listed in the character planner for a massive power boost. Upgrading Ancestral white items in the cube is a good way to get them as well as farming Lair Bosses that have specific drops. Check out our Boss Loot Table Guide to see where some of these Uniques can drop. Bloodless Scream is the most important one by far so try to get this first.

Try to get a healthy balance between your Multiplicative Damage multipliers: Critical Hit Damage, Vulnerable Damage & Shadow Damage. Once you have a solid 30-50% of each you can try to stack more into Critical Hit Damage.

Mythic Uniques:

Unfortunately Heir of Perdition got a massive nerf and isn't viable anymore for it's massive damage boost. Harlequin Crest and Tyrael's Might also got nerfed and wont be a reliable combo for gaining massive Damage reduction. You can however still combineTyrael's Might & Endurant Faith for a big toughness boost if desired.

Tempering

Stacking Critical Hit Chance everywhere and hitting a few Greater Affixs or Masterworks on it gets you around 40%+. The BacGar combo is going to add 10% more and your Pact of Bone gets you the rest of the way to getting close to 90%. At this point stacking Critical Hit Damage to the moon becomes very valuable, and when you get your gear close to the example above you'll see your Minions hit for well over 100 Billion on some swings.

Runewords

Bac + Gar gives you a consistent 10% increased Critical Hit Chance. You can also use the much cheaper Cir until you have a truly godly helm to use a Bac rune in.

Nagu + Que grants you an Earthen Bulwark. Using the Nagu makes it cast almost instantly the moment it falls off.

Talisman

Talisman Priority

Get the full Berú of the Black Shroud Set. For big endgame damage you should put in effort to re-roll them to get + Darkness or Minion Skills on all 5.

For the 6th Talisman slot:

  • Endurant Faith is great to make you practically immortal, this can be extremely helpful when fighting Mephisto
  • Azurewrath is godly for Pushing High in The Pit or Tower. Farm Bartuc in Infernal Hordes to get an Ancestral Azurewrath and use the Horadric Cube to craft it into a Charm. This will hit for Trillions with a highly geared endgame setup and makes you feel at least twice as powerful.

Make sure to pick up Iron Maiden and its passive since at this point your goal is to be applying Curses automatically with Blood Moon Breeches.

Paragon Board

As you transition into a Critical Hit Damage centered build you want to focus on leveling up the Essence Glyph. The same rule apples for when you obtain Bloodless Scream and the Control Glyph.

Prioritize getting all the Stat nodes within range of your Glyphs to boost their power before branching out to pick up Rare Nodes that give Toughness. Once you've obtained all relevant Stat nodes and Rare nodes you can pick up the rest of the Magic nodes that surround the Rare Nodes. This wont happen until you've reached a very high paragon 250+.

Mercenaries

Raheir dives in to save you from a huge hit, provides 15% All Resist, makes enemies take 15% more Damage and makes you deal 25% more Damage.

Aldkin provides you with 20% damage reduction when standing in his Field of languish. You need to level him up a bit to unlock this skill. Start off with Haunt until it's available.
