This build is amazing on controller and uses the Greatstaff of the Crone!

Dash through the screen destroying enemies with Claw as a Werebear. This encapsulates the melee bruiser playstyle perfectly!

Stat Priorities

Offensive

  1. Critical Strike Chance (No more than 100%)
  2. Critical Strike Damage Multiplier (Main GA and Masterwork focus)
  3. Attack Speed (No more than 100%)
  4. Vulnerable Damage Multiplier (Masterwork upgrade at least one with GA)
  5. Weapon Damage (Only on weapons)
  6. Willpower (Always prioritize on armor)
  7. Elemental/All Damage Multiplier
  8. Skill Ranks

Defensive

  1. Maximum Life (You want this on all items unless you feel you can remove some and stay alive)
  2. Resistance (Get as much as you can without giving up Willpower or other important affixes)
  3. Armor (Be sure to have at least one affix on items minimum, but get as much as you can)

Utility

  1. Movement Speed (No more than 200%)
  2. Cooldown Reduction (Just enough to maintain your Ultimate 100% of the time)

Important Notes

  • Cyclone Armor is used for passive Resistances.
  • Earthen Bulwark is used automatically with Que Rune for Barrier, Fortify, Healing, Resolve Stacks, and Overpower.

Skill Rotations

  1. Activate Lightning Storm to deal damage, proc Calm Before the Storm, and increase Movement Speed (You can re-cast Lightning Storm at 4 Ferocity stacks for faster strikes).
  2. Use Debilitating Roar consistently to reduce enemy damage.
  3. Use and maintain Grizzly Rage consistently.
  4. Drop Stone Burst onto the main cluster of enemies each time it runs off to proc Phoba of the Old Mountain.
  5. Spam Claw to dash to enemies and kill everything.

  • Hero of the Storm Lightning Storm doesn't show damage increases from skill ranks but it does benefit from them.

Important Notes

  • Prioritize getting all Legendary Nodes before all else. Example: Thunderstruck
  • Prioritize all Glyphs to level 25 before going higher unless you cannot equip the next Glyph yet.
  • Prioritize all Glyphs to level 50 before going higher on any.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why am I squishy?

A: Survivability is all about stacking multiple layers of damage mitigation and sustain. You want Maximum Life on every piece of gear because it prevents one shots and your Barrier from Earthen Bulwark scales with Maximum Life. The build has great healing built in, so focus on reducing damage taken by stacking All Elemental Resistances and Armor. The Gems on jewelry are very high value to prevent the worst types of damage. Be sure to make sure you get Damage Reduction items and Aspects as recommended in the guide or alternatives listed below them.
