Sidney Pointylegs Boss Guide

Sidney Pointylegs is an optional boss and objective of The Prospects Ripper Drill Site in the Fadefields.

Once reaching The Prospects the player will have to fight through several waves of stronger than average Rippers to face their leader: Sidney Pointylegs.

Sidney Pointylegs is located at The Prospects Ripper Drill Site in The Fadefields.

Sidney Pointylegs is a 2 phase boss fight. He has 3 health bars: one Energy, one Flesh, and one Armor. The second phase begins once his Energy and Flesh health bars are depleted.

The boss can spawn with any element.

FIGHT TLDR

• Shoot at his massive head to deal easy Critical damage
• Keep adds at a manageable level
• He fights at range in Phase 1, and melee in Phase 2

Phase 1

Homing Rockets

What Happens: Sidney Pointylegs fires continuous rockets towards the player that deal low damage.

What to do: These are quite persistent throughout the fight and serve as the boss's main ranged DPS. Keep moving and you should be able to avoid them

An individual rocket won't hurt you too much.

Spawn Robots

What Happens: 3 small robotic adds appear at the boss and chase you down, dealing damage and healing other adds. The adds will have the same element as the boss.

What to do: Backpedal to avoid their damage and nuke them down.

The robots are irritating but fortunately squishy.

Leap

What Happens: Jumps away from the player to reobtain range.

What to do: Keep hounding the boss and shooting his big fat head.

The boss gracefully extends his body ready for a jump out.

Phase 2

Chopper Fly

What Happens: Spins his legs and closes the gap towards the player. Deals damage if contact is made

What to do: Backpedal or sidestep away from the boss to avoid the damage. The boss often staggers giving you enough time to get far away.

Unlike Phase 1, Sidney now wants to stay in melee.

Bomb Spread

What Happens: Hovers above the ground and ejects 3 bombs that deal elemental damage based on the element the boss spawned with.

What to do: Keep your distance and these are easy to avoid. It's not recommended to side step these as you may get hit by the outer bombs; a backwards dash is better.

These bombs will be in the element indicated next to the boss's health bar

Leg Spin

What Happens: Erratically spins forward and sideways dealing damage and knocking the player back

What to do: As with all of Phase 2, keep your distance and backpedal. Dashing sideways may result in you still taking damage from the wide-arcing spin.

Stay well away and you'll be fine

Tips & Tricks

• Due to the varied health bars in the fight (the boss having Shield, Flesh, and Armor, the adds having Shield and Armor, and the Rippers having Flesh), a Kinetic weapon is recommended as it deals unmodified damage to all health types.
• Keep at least one add alive to kill for Second Wind should you get knocked.
• The boss stays at range during the first phase making longer-range weapons more useful, whereas shorter range weapons such as Shotguns have more value in the second phase when he fights up close.
• There is a large tree and a tree stump in the arena which can block projectiles and Sidney Pointylegs himself when he flies towards you.
• Adds stop spawning in Phase 2 so keep your distance and play it safe - you won't have fodder to give you Second Wind.
