Borderlands 4: Takedown at Hadron Abyss Overview

The Borderlands 4: Takedown at Hadron Abyss will be launching as a part of a free update on June 25th, 2026. On the same day, the paid Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For will also be released, alongside a new Vault Card.

In the Takedown, players will be exploring an underwater research station, and eventually face a new raid boss at the end of the gauntlet: the Child of Terramorphous.

The gauntlet will follow the known format from Borderlands 3's own Takedowns: an entire new area with forced mobbing, a midpoint boss, and finally the raid boss at the end.

The Takedown at Hadron Abyss will reward players with plenty of new items to farm for:

• 1 Pearlescent Weapon
• 9 new pieces of Legendary gear:
• • 5 Weapons
  • 1 Shield
  • 1 Repkit
  • 1 Grenade Ordnance
  • 1 Heavy Weapon Ordnance
• 5 new Class Mods

The Takedown at Hadron Abyss will introduce a new Mayhem Challenge system. Players will be able to unlock higher Mayhem levels of difficulty on the Takedown by beating previous tiers of the content fast enough.

Mayhem levels will make enemies more powerful and healthy, alongside granting them additional modifiers.

The Mayhem system will override the traditional UVH level and difficulty selection, making it an unique challenge to the Takedown. With the added difficulty, also comes increased rewards.
