Amon Vengeance Skill Tree Full Breakdown
Overview
Guide
Starting breakdown in 3, 2, 1..
The
Vengeance tree is all about elemental damage, ordnances and face tanking damage. If you’re a fan of a tank/heavy weapons play-style, this tree is going to be your best friend.
Starting with the
Scourge action skill. In this ability, Amon whips out a front facing shield that absorbs all frontal damage and stores it as
Vengeance - which is effectively a damage meter buildup. When pressing the action skill button again, Amon can then launch a forge-wave which scales based on the amount of Vengeance you’ve built up. This forge-wave deals cryo ordnance damage to enemies that get hit, and does so in a fairly large area of effect. The forge-skill for this tree is Firewall. Which as its name may suggest, is a large firewall that blocks damage + amplifies bullet damage that passes through it.
Trunk Skills
Tier 1
Wrath of Nature, which gives Amon increased status effect application chance and cryo effectiveness. Which basically means Amon is more likely to apply a status effect like shock, burn and corrosion to an enemy, as well as decreasing the health threshold for an enemy to get frozen. This effect is also doubled during
Scourge uptime, so overall, very handy for any element focused/damage over time build. While the status effect chance might not look as juicy, the cryo effectiveness is where builds will shine- we then have
Scorched Kairos - which increases Amons ordnance damage and mag size. - Moving swiftly along, we have
The Thrill. An incredibly powerful health regeneration skill and doubly so because its a 3 point tier 1 skill. The Thrill gives Amon missing health regeneration. everytime he takes non status damage, he gains a stack of Resolute which increases the health regen bonus. Very little point investment required for a very high return - We then have
Battleborn - which gives Amon a gun damage bonus based on how full his health is. This damage bonus is doubled at max health. Not bad at all.
Tier 2
Eternal. which increase Amons Action Skill duration as well as gun swap speed. The Action Skill duration has some great utility and ties in with nicely with the scourge action skill, as the action skill typically benefits from spending more time in the action skill to get more use out of it.- We then have
Tail of the Comet, which gives a chance to apply a cryo DoT to enemies after dealing ordnance damage to them. Do NOT sleep on this skill. A lot of Amons kit revolves around making use of ordnance damage, so whenever there is an option to add bonus elements, i suggest you take it - The final skill in tier 2 is
Scar Tissue, which gives Amon increased max health and repkit healing. - As far as augments go, we have 2.
Cryonic Thrum - which makes Amon taunt enemies while in scourge, while also sending out waves of cryo damage outwards towards enemies that deals cryo damage to hit enemies (duh) AND heals allies in the range of it. While aiming down sight, Amons move speed is reduced BUT he gains bonus Cryo damage and consumes Vengeance every shot- The 2nd augment is
Blastchill - This makes Amons forgewaves explode on impact. The AoE of the explosion is also increased if it passes through firewall. This skill can be made use of for a large AoE focused forgewave build.
Tier 3
Bullet Hail. This skill gives Amon the chance for gun shots to ricochet as an elemental shard, dealing cryo damage. This basically helps Amon turn any gun into a pseudo Jakobs manufacturer.- The next skill is
Machinist, which is a kill skill that restores a % of ordnance cooldown on kill
Ancient Ways is the next skill we have, and this is a very straightforward cryo damage boost.- To round out the trunk, we have
Warrior's Cup, which partially restores Action Skill Duration while using a repkit during an active action skill.
Branches
Branch 1
- We start with
Wildfire. Wildfire increases Amons ricochet damage, burning duration and burning damage. In case it wasn’t obvious, these branches mark the commencement of a heavy elemental based playstyle. - the next skill we have is
Burning Rage. Burning Rage is a kill skill that gives Amon a stack of Flame affinity after killing an enemy with incend damage. For every stack of flame affinity that Amon has, he gains increased reload speed and action skill cooldown rate. - The augment housed in branch 1 is
Molten Rebuke, which replaces the forgewave whipping with whats basically a captain america shield throw. Amon consumes all stacks of Vengeance that has been built up to then toss his shield at enemies which deals incendiary ordnance damage AND ricochets between enemies. The amount of ricochets is based on how much vengeance is built up prior to throwing the shield. Fun.
Ballistic Bulwarkis the next skill we have, and this gives Amon overshield when dealing ordanance damage. Bear in mind, forgewaves deal ordnance damage - so this means that whip spamming can keep an overshield bar for Amon topped up while he’s doing it, which helps with overall survivability.- Next we have
Disco Infernus, which gives increased fire rate for a short duration after setting an enemy on fire, and keep in mind that this skill can also stack! - We then have
Worldbreaker, and this would form the crux of a slam based build if that tickles your fancy. Whenever Amon slams the ground, he consumes all flame affinity stacks to create a flame fissure in front of him, which deals large amounts of incendiary melee damage to all enemies that were hit. - We then have a skill following this, in the form of
Cooling Mantle, which is a kill skill that partially reduces Worldbreaker cooldown so you can keep slamming and jamming. - For the capstone, we have
Ring of Frostfire. This turns the firewall forgeskill into a… ring. of frost.. and fire. Any enemies trapped inside the ring will be dealt fire damage, and any enemies that pass through the ring will be hit by cryo damage. Any friendly projectiles passing through the ring wall will receive a damage boost and projectile speed boost, so this can be a useful skill to pick up if you want to play a co-op support type role in your squad.
Branch 2
- We start with
Icy Rage. another affinity skill which stacks upon killing enemies with cryo damage. For every stack of cryo affinity Amon has, he gains increased gun damage. - For the augment, we have my personal favourite in the tree.
Eternal Winter. Forgewaves now partially restore scourge duration everytime you damage enemies with them and be activated 3 times in a row, with the 3rd swing doing a stronger attack that deals increased damage and doesn’t consume vengeance. If you’re looking for a forgewave spamming build, you ABSOLUTELY NEED this augment locked in. - We also have
Northern Wind - which gives Amon a chance to apply a slowdown debuff to enemies on crit. The chance for the slow effect is doubled during your action skill. This skill is somewhat useful if you’re looking for a way to apply mass crowd control in a mobbing situation. - After this, we have
Age of Ice. An incredibly powerful skill that increases your damage to frozen enemies. Powerful utility, and if youre running a cryo build and freezing enemies consistently, this skill is a free damage boost for you.
Primal Surge is next up, and gives Amon a chance to restore shield and ammo everytime he applies a status effect.
Winter's Kiss the furthers a ricochet/projectile spawning gameplay loop. This skill gives Amon the ability to spawn a seeking cryo shard everytime Amon deals ordnance damage. However each cryo shard spawned consumes 1 stack of cryo affinity. So you best be racking up stacks of cryo affinity or this skill will fall flat.- We then have
Caroming Shard, which gives your elemental shards a chance to ricochet. In case it wasn’t obvious already, this branch is heavily focused on ricochets and additional projectiles. - As for the capstone, we have
Glacial Rapture. Glacial rupture makes Amon swing and slam his forgewhips, dealing cryo ordnance damage to nearby enemies and then creating a cryo fissure that deals cryo ordnance damage and leaves behind a cryo hazard for a duration. In this context, a cryo hazard is basically a cryo area of effect.
Branch 3
- starting this branch off strong, we have
Blackout, which gives ordnance damage a chance to crit. And for an added bonus, when the ordnance crits, it shocks the enemy to add damage over time to said enemy. - For the augment, we have
Stormlance. Stormlance is the Vengeance trees answer to forge-axes, and gives Amon forge-spears that can be thrown to deal shock ordnance damage on impact. Enemies hit by the forge-spears are primed for a duration, and will detonate when damaged by a forge-skill. As an additional way to trigger detonations, critical hits from gun can also detonate a primed enemy, but the resultant damage is reduced as a result. - Next up, we have
Thunderous Rage. When killing an enemy with shock damage, Amon gains a stack of shock affinity. and for every stack he gets, he gets increased crit damage. Which can be very powerful in combination with the right build.
Strike the Anvil follows up
Thunderous Rage, giving Amon the ability to spawn elemental bolts to strike enemies with shock damage. This is triggered everytime Amon deals action skill damage, but consumes a stack of shock affinity for every bolt spawned.- We then have
Smelter, which is a kill skill that restores a % of forgeskill cooldown for every kill Amon gets.
Tactician is next, and gives amon increase fire rate BUT decreased gun handling while hipfiring - and on the flipside, increase gun damage and handing while aiming down sights- the final skill we have is
High Voltage, which can make the elemental bolts stagger enemies, and consume an additional stack of shock affinity to multiply damage dealt - For our final capstone, we have
Wrathfall. Instead of a wall of fire, or smacking the ground with whips, Amon instead summons a gigantic sword from the heavens to deal shock ordnance damage to enemies in the affected area. And to boot, this ability ALWAYS crits.
Notes
El Finito
So yeah, that’s every skill explained in the
Cybernetics tree. Hope you found it useful. As I mentioned earlier, I will be covering all the trees, so the
Calamity tree is up next. Stay tuned! Catch you all soon!
