League of Legends Mid-Season Patch Item Updates

League of Legends Mid-Season Patch Item Updates

Has Season 14 already begun, or are we in League of Legends Season 13.5? Neither, unfortunately, but the mid-season patch has shaken up the game with a multitude of different items being added and changed.

As there are a lot of changes, you may not have been able to keep yourself updated with all the new things Riot have implemented. I’d recommend reviewing this guide every few days, as we will keep it updated.

It’s pretty hard to suggest how impactful these items will be to your favourite champion and if they will start buying these new items. However, you can see if your champion is impacted by heading to their Mobalytics Champion Page, which has all the necessary information.

All of the pictures and information are taken from this Reddit post by u/03AtbLoLYT. Huge thank you for combining everything in one place.

Chalice of Blessing

  • 200 health.
  • 75% mana regen.
  • Gain 25% base health regen for every 25% base mana regen.

This is a brand-new item added to the game. It seems pretty good, not too expensive, with half-decent stats.

Lifewell Pendant

  • 150 health.
  • 20 armor.
  • 100% base health regen.

This is another new item added. It doesn’t really look that amazing compared to some other items with similar stats in my opinion, but we will see how it goes.

Echoes of Helia (new)

  • 30 AP.
  • 200 health.
  • 15 ability haste.
  • 125% base mana regen.
  • Damaging a champion grants a shard. Healing or shielding an ally consumes the shards and heals the ally while damaging a nearby enemy.

Echoes of Helia is a new Support item. It gives decent stats and will be quite good on utility Supports with heals and shields.

Youmuu’s Ghostblade (new)

  • 60 attack damage.
  • 18 lethality.
  • 20 ability haste.
  • Active: gain movement speed and ghost for a few seconds.
  • When you have 100 shards while moving, gain additional movement speed. When you’re at max stacks, you gain bonus lethality.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items 8 AD.

This item is now a Mythic item. It will be for AD assassins and champions who need to get in and out. Think it might be good on Zed or Kha’Zix.

Duskblade of Draktharr (new)

  • 60 attack damage.
  • 18 lethality.
  • 20 ability haste.
  • Your abilities deal extra damage based on the targets missing health. If you kill a target, or when one dies within a few seconds of hitting them, you become untargetable.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items, ability, haste, and movement speed.

The new Duskblade allows you to become untargetable, which is pretty good. However, on paper I don’t think champions like Zed will use it because he can just use his Ultimate to escape. However, I think it will benefit Talon, who cannot easily escape.

Prowler’s Claw

  • 55 attack damage.
  • 15 lethality
  • 15 ability haste.
  • After dashing, blinking or exiting steal, your next attack is empowered.

Prowler’s Claw is pretty similar but is no longer a Mythic item, which allows assassin champions to take one of the other items in the game. Its cost has gone down, and I think it’s really expensive for what it is.

Guinsoo’s Rageblade (new)

  • 30 attack damage.
  • 30 ability power.
  • 25% attack speed.
  • Attacks apply on hit, and basic attacks grant additional attack speed.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items armor and magic pen.

Guinsoo’s Rageblade is a new Mythic item. Usually, champions would build this second or third, so I expect it to be used less overall. I think champions like Kayle will build this item.

Infinity Edge (new)

  • 70 AD.
  • 20% crit strike chance.
  • 35% crit strike damage.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items 5 AD.

Don’t really understand why Infinity Edge is now a Mythic item, but we will see how it plays out. It has some good stats for the price, so let’s see how it goes.

Navori Quickblades (new)

  • 60 AD.
  • 20% crit strike chance.
  • 20 ability haste.
  • Your attacks reduce your non-ultimate abilities cool down.
  • Your abilities deal increased damage based on your critical strike.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items additional ability haste.

Navori is an item that was only really built on a few champions. In my eyes, I only think there will be a select few champions using it like Xayah.

Statikk Shiv

  • 45 AD.
  • 25 attack speed.
  • 20% critical stike chance.
  • Moving and attacking generates stacks. Your empowered attack fires a chain lighting that deals additional damage.

Shiv is returning after being removed from the game in season 10. I am happy to see it back and rejuvenated.

Immortal Shieldbow

  • 50 AD.
  • 20% crit chance.
  • 7% life steal.
  • When taking damage that would put you below 30% health, gain a shield and extra attack speed.

Shieldbow is no longer a Mythic item, but the unique lifeline passive makes it a unique item. It is going to be good versus burst champions and assassins.

Galeforce

  • 55 AD.
  • 15% attack speed.
  • 20% critical strike chance.
  • 7% movement speed.
  • Dash in a target direction, dealing damage to low-health enemies.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items some additional attack damage.

Galeforce has lost stats on its AD, AS and crit. However, it now gives movement speed. It is still a good item.

Kraken Slayer (no longer a Mythic)

  • 40 AD.
  • 30 attack speed.
  • 20% critical strike chance.
  • Every third attack deals additional damage.

Kraken Slayer has lost its Mythic status. This offers a lot of champions more flexibility in their build path.

Rapid Firecannon

  • 30 attack damage.
  • 15% attack speed.
  • 20% critical strike chance.
  • 7% movement speed.
  • Moving and attacking generates stacks. Your empowered auto deals extra damage and increases your range.

Rapid Firecannon hasn’t really changed that much. It’s still going to be a good item on the majority of ADCs.

Stormrazor

  • 55 AD.
  • 15% attack speed.
  • 20% critical strike chance.
  • Moving and attacking generates stacks. Your empowered auto deals extra damage and give you extra movement speed.

Stormrazor has honestly felt like a useless item as of late. It still doesn’t feel that good, but might be better on some champions.

Lord Dominik’s Regards

  • 35 AD.
  • 20% crit strike chance.
  • 30% armor pen.
  • Deals additional damage to enemies with more max health than you.

Lord Dominik’s has always been a useful item, and this will remain true with the mid season update.

Imperial Mandate (no longer a Mythic)

  • 55 AP.
  • 20 ability haste.
  • 100% base mana regen.
  • Abilities that slow or immobilise a champion deal damage and mark a champion. If an ally attacks the marked target, they take additional damage.

Imperial Mandate is no longer a Mythic item. This is good and bad for a few reasons. 1, it removes the option for Ashe Support, especially in ARAM. But it’s good as it opens up more opportunities for different build paths.

Force of Nature

  • 400 Health.
  • 60 magic resistance.
  • 5% movement speed.
  • Taking damage grants a stack. At 10 stacks, you gain extra movement speed and magic resistance.

Force of Nature is a strong tank item that allows you to change down enemies: it was a good item for some champions, and it will remain the same with this change.

Moonstone Renewer

  • 35 AP.
  • 200 health.
  • 20 ability haste.
  • This item empowers your heals and shields.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items 5 ability haste.

Moonstone Renewer is still a Mythic item. It will still remain the number 1 pick for some utility Supports. However, expect many Supports to pick the new Mythic item instead.

Radiant Virtue

  • 350 health.
  • 30 armor.
  • 30 magic resistance.
  • 10 ability haste.
  • Gain increased max health, while also empowering nearby enemies when you cast your Ultimate.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items 75 additional health.

Radiant Virtue is an alright item for tanky champions who want to fight a lot. I am not convinced this is the best item for a lot of champions though, and that there are better items around.

Sterak’s Gage

  • 400 health.
  • Gain bonus base damage.
  • Furthermore, upon taking damage that would reduce your health by 30%, you’ll gain a large shield.

This item is now better as it gives you a better shield, it is a good item for a lot of fighters.

Goredrinker

  • 55 attack damage.
  • 300 health.
  • 20 ability haste.
  • 8% omnivamp.
  • When you activate this item, you deal damage to nearby enemies.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items 75 health and some ability haste.

Goredrinker now gives more Mythical bonuses, which is nice for the rest of your build. I think it will be the go-to for some top lane champions and fighters.

Stridebreaker

  • 60 attack damage.
  • 20% attack speed.
  • 300 health.
  • 20 ability haste.
  • When you activate this item, you deal damage to nearby enemies and slow them briefly.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items 2% movement speed.

Stridebreaker now gives more AD, which will be a good change to many top lane champions.

Hullbreaker

  • 60 attack damage.
  • 400 health.
  • 150% base health regen.
  • 5% movement speed.
  • When you’re isolated, you gain extra armor and magic resistance, and your auto-attacks deal more damage.

Hullbreaker has always been a niche item, and it continues to be a niche item with this change.

Trinity Force

  • 40 AD.
  • 35% attack speed.
  • 300 health.
  • 20 ability haste.
  • Attacks grant additional movement speed, and you’ll also gain additional damage.
  • Furthermore, after using an ability, your next auto-attack will be empowered.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items 3 AD, 3 AH, and 3 MS.

This item has more AD and attack speed now. Its better for some champions like Ezreal. While this item is intended to empower ADC’s, I expert other lanes to utilise this item more.

Divine Sunderer

  • 40 attack damage.
  • 300 health.
  • 20 ability haste.
  • After using an ability, your next auto will be empowered and heal you.
  • Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items armor and magic pen.

With the changes to Divine Sunderer, it will still be an amazing item for many champions like Ezreal.

Abyssal Mask

  • 300 health
  • 60 magic resistance
  • 10 ability haste
  • Curse nearby enemies and reduce their magic resistance. For every enemy you curse, you’ll gain additional magic resistance.

Abyssal Mask gives way less health now, and is not as strong as it once was.

Bloodthirster

  • 55 AD
  • 20% crit strike
  • 18% life steal
  • You’ll gain additional attack damage when you’re above 50% health.

Bloodthirster gives more life steal, and the passive has changed a lot. It’s going to be a core item for many ADC’s now in my opinion.

Recurve Bow

  • 15% attack speed.
  • Attacks apply 15 magical damage on hit.

While this item change is meant to benefit ADC’s, it’s going to benefit a lot of other champions like Kayle as well.

Runaan’s Hurricane

  • 40% attack speed.
  • 20% critical strike chance.
  • 7% movement speed.
  • Attacks apply additional on hit magical damage.
  • When attacking, bolts are also fired up to 2 nearby enemies.

Overall a better item, its going to help a ton of different ADC’s and offer them more varied builds.

Staff of Flowing Water

  • 35 AP.
  • 8% heal and shield power.
  • 75% mana regen.
  • 5% movement speed.
  • Healing or shielding an ally gives you both extra AP and ability haste.

Staff changes are not the worse. Its still going to be a core item for most Supports.

Ardent Censer

  • 35 AP.
  • 8% healing and shileding power.
  • 75% base mana regen.
  • 5% movement speed.
  • Healing or shielding an ally increases their attack speed and damage.

Ardent Censer is still going to be a core item for utility Supports. These changes do not mean too much.

Chemtech Putrifier

  • 35 AP.
  • 10% healing and shileding power.
  • 75% base mana regen.
  • 15 ability haste.
  • Damaging abilities apply grievous wounds, which reduce healing and sustain.

Chemtech Putrifier, while the changes are not ideal, will remain a core item for most utility Supports.

Zeke’s Convergence

  • 350 health.
  • 25 armor.
  • 20 ability haste.
  • 125% base health regeneration.
  • Tag a team mate, and when you immobilise an enemy, your partner’s auto-attacks and abilities deal extra damage to the target.

Is better with this update, I still feel like it is a niche item, and will not be picked up as often compared to other items.

Knight’s Vow

  • 350 health
  • 25 armor
  • 20 ability haste
  • 125% base health regen.
  • Tag a team mate, and a portion of the damage they receive will be directed towards you.

Knight’s Vow has had some of its stats reworked. I think it’s in a better place overall, even though it gives less health.

The Collector

  • 55 AD.
  • 20% critical strike
  • 18 Lethality.
  • Dealing damage that would put an enemy below 5% health executes them. You’ll also gain bonus gold.

The Collector is a good item, especially on champions that can damage multiple champions simultaneously.

Zeal

  • 15 AS.
  • 15% crit strike.
  • 3% move speed.

Zeal now gives some extra movement speed but has slightly less attack speed. Regardless, it’s going to have a benefit on many ADCs and some champions like Kayle too.

Phantom Dancer

  • 20 AD.
  • 30% attack speed.
  • 20% critical strike chance.
  • 7% movement speed.
  • Attacks grant ghosting and additional movement speed. At 4 stacks, you gain bonus attack speed.

While Phantom Dancer has been changed, it is still a good item. The only real downfall is the price increase to PD.

Kircheis Shard

  • 15 AD.
  • Moving and attacking generates stacks.
  • Energised attacks deal extra damage.

Kircheis Shard deals less damage now. It’s not ideal, but it’s a component item, so you can’t complain that much…

Maw of Malmortius

  • 65 AD.
  • 50 magic resistance.
  • Upon taking magic damage that would reduce your health below 30%, you gain a shield.

Maw changes are not too noticeable. I don’t expect this item to gain or drop in popularity.

Mercurial Scimitar

  • 40 AD.
  • 20% critical strike chance.
  • 50 additional magic resistance.
  • It removes all CC for the active but excludes airborne CC.

This item’s actually a lot better now, with more magic resist being provided. Another benefit is that its cost hasn’t increased.

Mortal Reminder

  • 40 AD.
  • 30% armor pen.
  • 20% crit strike.
  • Dealing damage to a target applies grievous wounds and reduces the healing of a champion.

Regardless of the Mortal Reminder changes, it will still be a core item for many champions to deal with sustain and higher health enemies.

That’s it!

This is the end of the new items and upcoming item changes to League of Legends. Please note this is a WIP article, and things may be slightly different when they hit the live servers.

When the new changes hit the live server, why not save time searching sites for the best build for your main and download the Mobalytics App to get the best build imported into your client?
