League of Legends Items Guide: Mage Mythic Items (Season 11)

New Mage Mythic LoL Items for Season 11

With Season 10 ending, Riot has revamped the item store by giving it a fresh new look and adding/removing tons of items.

These include the introduction of a brand new tier of super-powerful “Mythic items”.

In this Mobalytics guide, we will break down all of the new mage Mythic Items:

  • Everfrost
  • Hextech Rocketbelt
  • Liandry’s Anguish
  • Luden’s Tempest
  • Night Harvester
  • Riftmaker

If you want to know about all the other new items Riot has implemented for Season 11, check out our other Season 11 item articles where we’ll be breaking down all the new additions.

Before we move on, let’s talk about one of the biggest changes to items which is the new haste stat. Haste is replacing cooldown reduction – overall it’s similar to CDR as it allows you to use your abilities more often.

However, it doesn’t have a cap and you can buy as much haste as you like. Riot’s goal with this was to create greater flexibility with builds and how champions can use their abilities.

Many of the mage items we will talk about in this guide have haste.

Everfrost

Mythic - Everfrost

Everfrost gives AP, health, mana, and 10 ability haste. It’ll be a solid choice for control mages or AP champs that want more CC.

Its active deals damage in a cone that slows enemies. Enemies in the center of the cone are rooted instead of slowed.

  • Mythic Passive:
    • Grants all other Legendary items 15 ability power.

Champions who could use this item:

Hextech Rocketbelt

Mythic - Hextech Rocketbelt

Hextech Rocketbelt gives AP, health, and 15 ability haste. Its active grants you a dash in a target direction, launching missiles that deal damage, very similarly to Protobelt.

After you dash, will then briefly gain bonus movement speed towards enemy champions. Overall, it looks to be a great choice for AP assassins or AP champs looking for more mobility.

  • Mythic Passive:
    • Grants all other Legendary Items 5 magic penetration.

Champions who could use this item:

Liandry’s Anguish

Mythic - Liandry's Anguish

Liandry’s Anguish gives AP, mana, and 20 ability haste. Dealing damage with your abilities causes the enemy to burn, causing them to take max health damage.

While your targets are burning, they also lose some of their magic resistance since you gain magic penetration per second against those targets.

  • Mythic Passive:
    • Grants all other Legendary Items 5 ability haste.

Champions who could use this item

  • Cassiopeia
  • Karthus
  • Brand

Luden’s Tempest

Mythic - Luden's Tempest

Luden’s Tempest gives AP, magic penetration, mana, and 10 ability haste, making it still an ideal item for burst mages.

It causes damaging abilities to deal additional damage to a target and nearby other three enemies.

In addition, it also gives you bonus movement speed briefly.

  • Mythic Passive:
    • Grants all other Legendary items 5 magic penetration.

Champions who could use this item:

  • Ahri
  • Lux
  • Syndra

Night Harvester

Mythic - Night Harvester

Night Harvester gives AP, health, and 15 ability haste. Damaging a champion deals extra damage and gives you extra movement speed.

Note that the effect gives more move speed and extends the duration per champion, so it will pair well with AoE effects and with teamfighting champions.

  • Mythic Passive:
    • Grants all other Legendary items 5 ability haste.

Champions who could use this item:

  • Karthus
  • Kassadin
  • Leblanc

Riftmaker

Mythic - Riftmaker

Riftmaker gives AP, health, 15% omnivamp (spell vamp), and 15 ability haste.

For each second you spend in combat against champions, you will deal extra damage. The bonus damage is dealt as true damage.

This offers a ton of extra damage for AP champions that excel in longer engagements.

  • Mythic Passive: Grants all Legendary items 5 magic penetration.

Champions who could use this item:

  • Vladimir
  • Katarina
  • Karthus
