Agent Overview

Sigrid de L'Azur is an S-Rank Ice Attacker whose identity is defined by using skills to enter her "Aerial Patrol Spear" state, which opens up the ability to use enhanced zzz basic attack Basic Attacks (EBAs) that deal a lot of damage.

Her gameplan comprises of:

  • Enter the Aerial Patrol Spear state and get 1 use of her EBA by using an "Unbridled Spear" skill, being any of:
    • 4th hit of her zzz basic attack Basic Attack
    • zzz ex special attack EX Specials
    • zzz assist Assist Follow-Up
    • zzz chain attack Chain Attack
    • zzz ultimate Ultimate
    • zzz dodge Dodge Counters
  • Hold the zzz basic attack Basic Attack button to use an EBA1 and progress to the next stage.
  • Hit enemies with another Unbridled Spear skill to refresh her state and get another EBA use, this time being an EBA2.
  • Do another Unbridled Spear skill to get to the final (and strongest) EBA3.
  • Repeat the loop of Unbridled Spear skill → EBA over and over.

Then when stun arrives, using her Chain Attack will put her on the "Formation Breaker" state once per stun, which allows for her to do a full EBA1-3 without needing to use Unbridled Spear skills between them!

This is a straightforward playstyle, but between weaving in Assist Counters, managing resources for stun combos and optimising routes, Sigrid can be a fulfilling, and especially powerful Attacker.

Best Teams

Sigrid is a highly flexible Agent, especially as the Ice Attacker element/role combination opens up a lot of different high-performing teams for her.

She does best in a shell of:

Sigrid de L'Azur | Stunner | Support

It should be noted that some unorthodox compositions, like double Support or even double Stunner, can also be functional depending on who is used.

Agent Synergies (Stunners)

Norma - Norma is an ideal Stunner for Sigrid, owing to her zzz chain attack Chain Attack being fast, having a high multiplier and being considered an Unbridled Spear attack. Norma's passive Daze build and high Decibel generation helps her address Sigrid's issues and slots seamlessly in teams.

Dialyn - Dialyn is as dominant as she's always been, as Sigrid's Ultimate has very high multipliers. Her high burst Daze is a good match for the fights Sigrid tends to run in,. Sigrid can face Decibel issues with Dialyn, but enabling Ultimates every stun alongside Puffer Electro makes up for it.

Lighter - Lighter's raw buffs are exceptionally high, he isn't particularly demanding of field-time to provide value and his long stun extension makes for easy combos, but his low Daze application and lack of value outside of his buffs can be a problem at times.

Lycaon - The best "F2P" option, as well as a highly competitive Stunner generally. His has great buff value on top of great Daze application, which can put him ahead of Lighter, enabling 5-stun routes in certain fights, or simply making it so that Sigrid gets to burst faster.

Trigger | Ju Fufu - Both function as filler picks that offer passive Daze build and damage buffs. Their buff value will fall behind that of other Stunners, especially as Trigger's Spectral Gaze conflicts with PEN Ratio builds and most of Sigrid's damage is on zzz basic attack Basics, not zzz chain attack Chains and zzz ultimate Ultimates, so Ju Fufu suffers, but both are workable options.

Agent Synergies (Supports)

Sunna - An all-around strong Support with high buff potential, offering diversified multipliers (Cat's Gaze, Stun DMG %) that don't conflict with Sigrid's personal buffs, making her one of the best picks. She also has surprisingly high Daze build, which can be situationally useful at meeting Stun breakpoints in some routes.

Rina - As Sigrid is likely to be running a PEN Ratio build, Rina's own PEN Ratio buffs make her highly competitive on the slot. Maintaining her buff in full for the out-of-stun period can be difficult at M0, but with only a few Mindscapes and/or Weeping Cradle dupes, she'll be better than the limited Supports.

Astra Yao - Sigrid's zzz chain attack Chain Attack is both an Unbridled Spear attack and has a high multiplier, so Astra's ability to provide them with her zzz ultimate Ultimate is welcome. Unfortunately, Sigrid's zzz assist Quick Assist doesn't shortcut to anything, but the general buff value and combo damage potential more than make up for downsides.

Zhao - Although technically a Defender, Zhao can fill in as a Support. So long as Sigrid's Additional Ability is being met with a Stunner, she can offer decently competitive buffs and has one of the higher Daze contributions of her slot, being especially useful if Half-Sugar Bunny is available.

Best W-Engines

Signature

@Knight's Extolment - Sigrid's Signature W-Engine is tailor made for her, packing a CRIT DMG mainstat and an absurd amount of additional CRIT DMG on its effect. The most powerful effect is the Ice RES Ignore, which is an especially strong bonus given how saturated Sigrid tends to be in regular stats.

Using an zzz ex special attack EX early to get its Battle Edge stack early is important, but otherwise the effect maintains itself, as any Battle Edge trigger (including those from zzz basic attack Basics) refreshes all stacks, meaning it'll likely stay up for the rest of the fight.

Alternatives

The Brimstone - As the crux of Sigrid's burst revolves around zzz basic attack Basic Attacks, many of which have plenty of multi-hits, it means near constant uptime of The Brimstone's stacks. Sigrid is rather saturated on combat ATK %, but the raw amount that this provides means it's a competitive pick, with a P5 Brimstone being almost comparable to Knight's Extolment.

The Brimstone is also an Attacker W-Engine that doesn't have CRIT Rate as a mainstat or as part of its bonus effect, meaning it can slot right into Sigrid builds.

Severed Innocence - This can work as a stat-stick given its CRIT DMG focus, but The Brimstone even at P1 will be similar in performance. Any CRIT Rate weapon leads to immediate overcapping, so this is one of the few limited W-Engine alternatives that works.

Gilded Blossom - The A-Rank W-Engine of choice. It isn't particularly good, but Starlight Engine is even worse, as zzz assist Quick Assist conversions, like Norma's and Astra's do not count for its "launching a zzz assist Quick Assist" effect, so Gilded Blossom is the better.

Best Drive Discs & Stats

Drive Discs

Sigrid has 2 primary 4-piece set options:

  • Hormone Punk
  • Dawn's Bloom

Neither are great options. Hormone Punk has limited uptime, and Sigrid is highly saturated on ATK as is, whereas Dawn's Bloom doesn't apply to her zzz ex special attack EX, zzz chain attack Chain Attack or zzz ultimate Ultimate DMG, on top of needing zzz ex special attack EX or zzz ultimate Ultimate casts to activate the bonus, which makes it more important to use it early in stuns.

As much of Sigrid's damage is spread out across multiple skills, Dawn's Bloom will be behind Hormone Punk at a base level of investment, but this changes with Mindscapes and the difference is slight.

If Dialyn is on the team, then Puffer Electro becomes the best choice.

For 2-piece, Sigrid can use:

  • Puffer Electro
  • Polar Metal

Puffer Electro alongside a PEN Ratio D5 will be by far and away her best choice. A DMG % 2-piece, like Polar Metal, can still do fine, but it'll be conditional on the team and buff line-ups, as it can easily get saturated.

Both CRIT DMG and ATK sets, like Branch & Blade Song and Astral Voice, can work, but Sigrid's high levels of saturation on both make them be less competitive.

Stats

Mainstats

  • Partition 4: CRIT DMG | ATK %

Sigrid is highly saturated on Flat Combat ATK, but so too is CRIT DMG if running @Knight's Extolement, meaning that ATK % can surprisingly be a competitive pick for the D4 slot.

As ATK % and CRIT DMG will make up the majority of Sigrid's substats, which mainstat is better can come down to the substat distribution, making both be valid picks.

  • Partition 5: PEN Ratio
  • Partition 6: ATK %

ATK % for D6 is the only option, but as it is rather saturated, it doesn't make for a good D5 pick. Although Sigrid herself doesn't have many personal sources of DMG % in her own kit (20% on zzz basic attack Basics, 15% on Contamination), team and endgame buffs can skew this, so pairing PEN Ratio with a Puffer Electro will be best.

Skill Priority

  2. zzz basic attack Basic Attack | zzz ultimate Ultimate
  3. zzz ex special attack EX Special
  4. zzz assist Assist
  5. zzz dodge Dodge

Mindscapes

Mindscape 1

M1 Long, Long Ago provides:

  • Immediate stock of an EBA use after using EBA3.
  • Multiplier increase of 100% to the next EBA if overcapping on uses.
  • An unconditional 25% Combat ATK increase.

This is a very strong Mindscape.

After landing an EBA3, Sigrid no longer has to hit an Unbridled Spear attack to use her EBA1 - the stack is provided with the EBA3 hit. It's also not strictly stocking on an EBA1 use, it's an EBA use.

This allows for either a back-to-back EBA3 > EBA1 use, or a back-to-back EBA3 > EBA3 if Sigrid exits the Formation Breaker state while it was stored.

If Sigrid ever overcaps on EBA uses (refreshing her Aerial Patrol State without having spent a stocked EBA), the next cast will be stronger. Note that this is a very minor increase, as it's a +100% multiplier that applies on the final hit.

It's not a x2 to damage, nor a 100% DMG bonus. It's taking a 716% skill (in the case of EBA1) and increasing that to 816%. Ideally overcapping on stacks would be avoided, but it functions as a consolation prize for when it happens.

The last bonus is a straightforward 25% Combat ATK up at all times. Be aware that this lowers The Brimstone's value, makes ATK % on D4 be decidedly worse regardless of W-Engine choice, and makes Dawn's Bloom be better than Hormone Punk in a neutral scenario.

Mindscape 2

M2 Legend's First Act provides:

  • 24% PEN Ratio to all Unbridled Spear attacks and EBAs.
  • 2s fixed extension to Aerial Patrol Spear's duration.
  • 10% Decibel Generation Rate increase to Sigrid.

Another strong Mindscape offering.

The 24% PEN Ratio applies to all of Sigrid's damaging moves, so this further entrenches it as a D5 pick alongside a 2-piece Puffer Electro, as the stat gets better the more there is of it.

The 2s extension to Aerial Patrol Spear can make it easier to hold onto an EBA3 for combo openers.

The Decibel Generation Rate though is incredibly useful: for some teams - like with Norma - it may open up an additional Ultimate use in the fight, whereas with others makes it far easier to have it up for Stun, like on a Dialyn team which is lacking in Decibels owing to Chain Attack conversions.

Mindscape 4

M4 Hero in Training provides:

  • 18% DMG whenever Aerial Patrol spear is refreshed (8s duration, can be extended to 40s)

A decent Mindscape as far as M4s go. Its trigger criteria is the same as that of Sigrid's Core Passive CRIT Rate buff, being effectively a permanent 18% DMG bonus.

Mindscape 6

M6 Knight of the Skies provides:

  • An 80%/90%/100% multiplier increase to EBA1/2/3.
  • Uncapping of the Formation Breaker state.
  • Faster EBA activation on Formation Breaker state.

From a raw damage perspective, it's a middling Mindscape, giving a combined 270% multiplier increase to a whole EBA1-3 string.

The uncapping of the Formation Breaker state and the faster EBA activation can be useful though, as it can allow for multiple EBA1-3 strings in stuns where lack of resources wouldn't sustain it, makes combos more forgiving, and owing to the faster activations, can open up or relax combo routes.

This is especially relevant to freezeable bosses or those with longer stun windows (15s base), where this may enable an additional EBA1-3 string to fit in full.

Keep in mind that as the Formation Breaker is given strictly by Chain Attacks, the value add from this can range significantly based on the team. Agents like Norma and Astra who can provide Chain Attacks benefit, whereas those that use them up, like Dialyn, suffer.

How to Play

Kit Overview

Core Passive, Unbridled Spear & Aerial Patrol Spear

Central to Sigrid's gameplay loop are Unbridled Spear skills and the Aerial Patrol Spear state, mechanics that are tied to her Core Passive.

As mentioned in the Agent Overview, a number of abilities in her kit are considered Unbridled Spear skills, being:

  • 4th hit of her zzz basic attack Basic Attack
  • zzz ex special attack EX Specials
  • zzz assist Assist Follow-Up
  • zzz chain attack Chain Attack
  • zzz ultimate Ultimate
  • zzz dodge Dodge Counters

Under Sigrid's portrait in combat, there's a gauge with 3 point indicators next to it, and when hitting an enemy with any of the above skills, it will place Sigrid in the Aerial Patrol Spear state and give her 1 un-stackable use of her EBA.

This is indicated by the gauge being filled, turning blue, and having 1 of the 3 points begin pulsing with a faint glow. The gauge will then begin to drain, indicating how long is left on Aerial Patrol Spear.

As part of her Core Passive, Sigrid will get a 66% CRIT Rate boost for 8s after entering the state, with repeated triggers extending the duration up to a maximum of 40s. It will also increase the Stun DMG Multiplier of her DMG by 20%.

Holding down the zzz basic attack Basic Attack button will have Sigrid use her EBA1. This consumes the 1-time EBA use built by the Unbridled Spear skill, and this is indicated by turning the gauge grey and halting the pulsing glow effect on the point indicators.

This will not remove her from the Aerial Patrol Spear state - the gauge will continue to drain - but doing so is required to progress it to another "stage".

If multiple Unbridled Spear skills are used consecutively, with no EBA in between, they will not build additional points and will only refresh the duration. As the EBA use is un-stackable, doing so will not give additional casts.

It's only after an EBA has been used that the next Unbridled Spear skill will progress Aerial Patrol Spear to the next stage, topping up the gauge, turning it blue again, and building a second glowing point.

Doing an EBA at the second stage would lead to Sigrid's EBA2, having higher multipliers than EBA1. Do it again and she'll do an EBA3, after which the points are cleared and she returns to the first stage.

The higher the stage, the less time Sigrid remains in the state, at 8/7/6s for stages 1/2/3 respectively, and if the state drops at any point, it will set her back a stage (e.g. stage 3 → stage 2). Note that swapping out of Sigrid will pause the timer.

As Unbridled Spear skills need to hit enemies to progress the stage, and only after an EBA has been used, Sigrid falls into a predictable pattern:

Unbridled Spear → EBA1 → Unbridled Spear → EBA2 → Unbridled Spear → EBA3 → Unbridled Spear → EBA1...

Basic Attack: Converging Spear (EBA)

Looping these EBAs over and over, ideally getting as many EBA3s as possible, is the general goal when playing Sigrid. At skill level 12:

  • EBA1 has a multiplier of 716.9%
  • EBA2 has a mutliplier of 1218.5%
  • EBA3 has a multiplier of 1629.7%

All combined that's over 3500% worth of damage! Which EBA is used is directly tied to the Aerial Patrol Spear stage.

Normally, the only way to progress through them is by using an Unbridled Spear skill when not in the state, or after using an EBA, but there is a way to shortcut to a higher stage.

If an EBA is timed to launch as an enemy's attack hits Sigrid, it will instead block the attack, cancel the EBA, but also immediately progress to the next stage. This will also refund the EBA use that was previously consumed, and increase the Daze of the next EBA by 100%.

This means it's possible to go from an EBA2 straight into an EBA3. Note that as this cancels the EBA as part of the block, it's trading one for another.

Giving up on an EBA2 to get an EBA3 seems good at first, especially as the Daze loss is made up by the bonus. The refund to the EBA use means that it's possible to go straight from the blocking animation into the next EBA, which is more total damage.

Keep in mind that the block animation does take up time, so in some cases, quantity can be better than quality, and spending that time doing more Unbridled Spear skills for more EBAs can be better than trying to time blocks for EBA upgrades.

Chain Attack, Formation Breaker & Ultimate

Sigrid's Chain Attack has very high multipliers, is an Unbridled Spear skill, and has the unique property of putting her in the Formation Breaker state when hitting stunned enemies, once per stun.

Formation Breaker will record and store the current Aerial Patrol Spear stage, then forcefully set it to the first stage and lock the timer so that it cannot drop.

Rather than needing to use Unbridled Spear skills between each EBA, holding the zzz basic attack Basic Attack button will allow Sigrid to seamlessly progress through with an EBA1 → EBA2 → EBA3 string.

Once EBA3 is used, it won't reset the Aerial Patrol Spear stage as usual, but instead return to the previously stored stage and begin ticking down as normal.

So if Sigrid has just used an EBA2, then Chain Attacks to enter the Formation Breaker state, she could do:

EBA1 → EBA2 → EBA3 → Unbridled Spear → EBA3

It's important to note that Formation Breaker's EBA3 will "consume" an EBA use regardless of whether it was stocked or not. She always needs to use another Unbridled Spear Skill after it ends to access the recoded EBA3, as the one-time use is always used up:

EBA2 → Unbridled Spear → Chain Attack → EBA1 → EBA2 → EBA3 → Unbridled Spear → EBA3

Whether Sigrid had used an EBA2, or used an EBA2 and followed it with an Unbridled Spear skill, the end result is the same: after Formation Breaker, she'll need to use another Unbridled Spear skill to EBA again.

This effectively caps the highest recorded stage to right after an EBA2.

As Formation Breaker can only happen once per stun, using Chain Attacks out of stun, or multiple times in a stun, will have them function as regular Unbridled Spear skills.

Sigrid's Ultimate is a lot simpler, being a burst of damage with exceptionally high multipliers, and working as an Unbridled Spear skill.

Regular Basic Attack

Sigrid's Regular Basic Attack is a 4-part string, and its last hit is considered an Unbridled Spear skill. It's the most accessible way to progress Aerial Patrol Spear stages, and many of Sigrid's skills will not interrupt its sequencing, namely:

  • EBAs
  • EX Specials
  • Dodge Counters

Using one of the above mid-Basic will continue from where it last left off, e.g.

B1 → B2 → Enh EX → B3 → EBA → B4 → EBA → B1...

Be sure to not accidentally overcap on EBA uses by going into a B4 right after an Unbridled Spear skill!

Specials

Sigrid has 3 Specials:

  • A regular Special, which is best avoided in most circumstances.
  • A regular EX, costing 60 Energy and doing 877.7% at level 12.
  • An enhanced EX, costing 50 Energy and doing 2096.1% at level 12.

Which EX is used depends on Sigrid's Aerial Patrol Spear; if she's out of the state, it's the regular EX, but if she's in the state, the enhanced EX is used.

Both EXs are Unbridled Spear skills, so there's no reason to ever use the regular EX over the enhanced one, given its high multiplier and the fact that Sigrid is likely to be in the state for the majority of the fight in order to progress through her EBAs.

Dodges

Sigrid's Dodge and Dash Attacks are unremarkable, but her Dodge Counter sees frequent use.

As it's an Unbridled Spear skill, it can progress her Aerial Patrol Spear stages faster than cycling through full Basic Attack strings against aggressive enemies.

It also elevates the value of Assist Countering out of Sigrid to another Agent, as it allows for her to progress Aerial Patrol Spear without giving up on Daze and Decibels from other Agents' Defensive Assists.

Given that it doesn't interrupt her Basic Attack sequencing, it can also allow for near back-to-back EBAs, e.g.

B3 → DC → EBA1 → B4 → EBA2, etc.

Assists

Sigrid's Quick Assist is a disappointing skill, as it does not shortcut to her later Basics. Every use will always reset her back to Basic 1, which can make it cumbersome to use.

Her Assist Follow-Up on the other hand, is an Unbridled Spear skill and has very high damage multipliers (over 1000%!), which can make it decent to use if swapping to Sigrid.

Most of the time, doing Assist Counters out of her into a Stunner Agent will be the better choice, as it builds more Daze and often is the default outcome as Sigrid is demanding of field time.

Additional Ability

Sigrid's Additional Ability activates on having a Support or Stun character in the team, and it provides an unconditional Flat Combat ATK buff (up to 840 at Agent level 60), as well as a 15% DMG bonus when hitting Contaminated enemies, giving her an extra boost when being run with Wind Agents.

Gameplay & Combos

Sigrid isn't a particularly complex character. She really does just come down to looping Unbridled Spear skill → EBA as often as possible.

There are some optimisations that can be made to get the most out of her, like using Assist Counters where possible to get both Decibels and Daze without sacrificing on EBAs (both out of and into Sigrid!).

As for her combos, they are relatively free-form. As most of her high damaging skills are Unbridled Spear attacks, they'll naturally flow between EBA uses. As EBAs build Energy, she can also get resources for an EX mid-combo, so resource management isn't too demanding.

Ideally the goal would be to get 2 Chain Attacks, an EX Special and an Ultimate, as that leads to at least 2 full EBA1-3 strings, 1 from Formation Breaker and another from Unbridled Spear skills.

That isn't a strict rule though, as Norma could add a Chain Attack conversion, as could Astra, or Dialyn could replace a Chain with an Ultimate, or even give a full 2 Chain + Ultimate combo if fight routing allows for it.

There are few general things to keep in mind though, some of which ride on the team and build:

  • If using Dawn's Bloom, make sure to have used an EX shortly before the combo, or better yet, initiate the stun with it to refresh on the 4-piece effect.
  • If using Dialyn, spreading out Ultimates (and ideally opening with one) is going to be best on Puffer Electro to extend the 4-piece effect uptime.
  • Although Hormone Punk has a 10 up, 10 down flow, between ally stun extensions and stun recalcs, even a 12s base stun duration gets extended out to 18s~. More if the enemy is freezable.
    • This means that Sigrid will inevitably refresh the set effect when being swapped to through Chain Attacks, Quick Assists, etc. Try to have it up for Ultimates, but its not too big a loss if it isn't.
  • When swapping out of Sigrid to trigger teammate abilities, like Norma's Chain conversion, do so during EBA2 or EBA3, so that there's no time loss owing to their long animations.
  • Try to get a Chain Attack out early, so that its 20% DMG Bonus to EBAs is applied in full. This is even more important for the first stun, or after boss mechanics that can risk having the 50s buff duration fall off.
  • Going into a stun with a late-stage Aerial Patrol Spear is ideal, to either get an early EBA3, or to have it be used right after Formation Breaker.
    • Don't forget that Formation Breaker will always end on a "used" EBA, so if not doing an EBA3 straight away, save an Unbridled Spear skill for it later.
    • This means that opening with an EBA3 isn't necessary (in fact, using it after a Chain Attack may be best), but it'll ride on the total stun duration and resource availability, as that could take longer than using it early.

Here's an example combo that could be used with any Agent:

  • zzz chain attack Chain Attack: Encroaching Ice
  • Cancel
  • zzz basic attack Basic Attack: Converging Spear 1st Stage
  • zzz basic attack Basic Attack: Converging Spear 2nd Stage
  • zzz basic attack Basic Attack: Converging Spear 3rd Stage
  • Swap to another Agent to trigger a Chain Attack
  • zzz chain attack Chain Attack: Encroaching Ice
  • zzz basic attack Basic Attack: Converging Spear 1st Stage
  • zzz ex special attack EX Special Attack: Shattered Jade
  • zzz basic attack Basic Attack: Converging Spear 2nd Stage
  • zzz ultimate Ultimate: Frozen Heavens
  • zzz basic attack Basic Attack: Converging Spear 3rd Stage
  • zzz ex special attack EX Special Attack: Shattered Jade (if there's a stun extension)
