This guide brings together the basics you need to feel comfortable getting started. I will cover choosing a character, understanding the interface, questing, combat, gear, professions and what to focus on as you level.
You don’t need to master everything before you play. Use this guide as a reference, come back when something new appears, and take the game at your own pace.
The Ultimate Wow Forever Beginners Guide
New to WoW Forever and unsure where to begin?
Choosing your character
Pick a class that sounds fun to you. Think about whether you’d enjoy fighting up close, attacking from a distance, using magic or supporting other players. Don’t let the what Class is best or what Race is best deter you from picking what you like.

Understanding your screen
Spend a few minutes finding your health and resources, action bars, map, quest log and bags. You’ll use these constantly. Move things around if the default layout feels awkward, and place your most-used abilities where they’re easy to reach.

Questing and levelling
Quests are the main way you will level to 60 and a good way to learn the world and your character. Check where a quest sends you, pick up other nearby quests, and complete them while you’re in the area. As you level, read each new ability you unlock from your trainer every 2 levels and try it out before adding too many buttons at once. Learning each ability as you learn it will make it less confusing later on.

Gear, bags and money
Check the gear you earn from quests and enemies, but don’t worry about having a perfect setup while levelling. Keep your bags organised, sell things you don’t need, and be thoughtful about what you spend your money on early.

Professions and playing with others
Professions give you another way to explore the game, make useful items or gather materials. You can learn about them as you go. If you run into a difficult quest or want to try group content, ask other players for help! you don’t have to figure out every part of WoW Forever alone it's called an MMORPG for a reason. Get your professions as early as possible so that you can level them up as you level up your character.

What to focus on first
If everything feels overwhelming, keep it simple: choose a character you enjoy, follow quests, learn your abilities from your trainer every 2 levels and explore. The rest will make more sense once you’ve spent some time playing.
Combat basics
Learn what your abilities do and how your character stays alive. Pay attention to your health, avoid pulling more enemies than you can handle, and give yourself time to recover between fights when needed. Getting comfortable with a few abilities matters more than memorising a perfect rotation on day one.
