Overview

WoW Forever's Legacy system is a new account wide progression system that boasts of 65 challenges, 16 spendable perk points that are spread across three perk trees (Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness. The system unlocks when you reach level 25, get a crafting profession to 25 and, perhaps the most difficult route, explore the entire map on a single character.

The system has been implemented as a new major progression system which rewards and further incentivises commitment to exploration, leveling, professions, PvP Content and PvE Content. No longer will the focus solely be on reaching level 60 and endgame content!

Legacy points are unlocked account-wide but you are able to spend each of these points independently; this means your alts and main will be able to differ in their allocation choices ensuring you can create characters that are tailored specifically towards certain benefits and areas of the game.

Class Legacy Challenges

The most accessible way to gain legacy points is through levelling classes. A point is rewarded for getting each class to level 25, 45 and 60 for the first time. Remember, this is account-wide progression, giving players an even bigger incentive to different characters. Alterholics, rejoice!

Tradeskill Legacy Challenges

Leveling your professions are also an integral part of making progression in the legacy system. Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Engineering, you name it, it will have an impact. Each profression now has a milestone at 150, 225 and 300 which each reward a legacy point. Once again, this further incentivises playing new characters and focusing on different professions to make progress.

Adventure Legacy Challenges

Adventure legacy points are rewarded via exploring Azeroth, completing questlines, reputation grinds and significant world-based accomplishments.

Dungeon Legacy Challenges

If dungeons are your jam, then the legacy system has also got you covered. Different milestones are completed by completing separated groups of dungeons. Given how Blizzard seem to want players to run dungeons a few times and move on vs. constantly grind them this may be a reliable way to acquire more points.

Raid Legacy Challenges

Completing raid-related challenges are also a method to gaining points. For example, defeating Onyxia will be an early grab once her lair opens! Barrow Deeps, the new 10-man raid in WoW Forever is also highlighted as a way to gain legacy points.

PvP Legacy Challenges

PvP challenges are arguably the method which looks to have the most leverage in terms of progression when compared to the other areas we have outlined.

PvP players can gain legacy point by hitting milestones via progressing through PvP ranks, making the road to 14 quite a lucrative one! Players can also gain points via grinding reputation linked to battlegrounds. There are also specific Field of Honour season journeys which also reward legacy points too. PvP players have plenty to go at!
