Fury Warrior is all about maintaining momentum. You want to chain kill enemies, preserve as much Rage as possible, and minimize downtime between pulls.
Unlike other classes, your rotation isn't just about pressing your hardest hitting abilities. Knowing when NOT to spend Rage is just as important. A Warrior starting every fight with 60 to 100 Rage is playing a completely different game from someone starting every pull with an empty bar.
Levels 1–4:
- Kill your first mob, loot it, and vendor everything you can to afford
Battle Shout. - Maintain
Battle Shout for the Attack Power bonus. - Auto attack enemies and use
Heroic Strike when you have sufficient Rage. - Avoid wasting Rage on
Heroic Strike when the enemy is already about to die.
I recommend grinding straight to Level 4 before focusing on quests. These early mobs die incredibly quickly, and grinding gets you off to a strong economic start.
Levels 4–10:
You now have
Charge and
Rend, which become the foundation of your early rotation.
Rotation:
Charge →
Rend → Auto Attacks →
Heroic Strike when appropriate.
Rend is especially useful against enemies that will survive long enough for the bleed to deal its damage. Don't waste Rage applying it to something that's already about to die.
Your goal is to maintain
Battle Shout, use
Charge to generate Rage, and preserve any leftover Rage for the next target.
Levels 10–20:
Rotation Priority:
Charge to initiate combat and generate Rage.
Demoralizing Shout early against enemies that deal meaningful physical damage, once learned at Level 14.
Overpower whenever an enemy dodges your attacks, starting at Level 12.
Sunder Armor once or twice against enemies that will survive long enough to benefit from the Armor reduction.
Rend when the target will survive most of its duration.- to spend excess Rage without starving your other abilities.
Demoralizing Shout is one of the most underrated abilities in the Warrior toolkit. Against physical mobs, the Attack Power reduction can significantly reduce incoming damage. Make it a habit to use it early during meaningful encounters, especially against multiple enemies.
Levels 20–30:
At Level 20, you unlock
Victory Rush, one of the biggest improvements to Warrior leveling in Forever.
Victory Rush activates after killing a non trivial enemy, giving you a limited window to deal additional damage and restore 10% of your maximum Health. It has a 30 second cooldown.
Rotation Priority:
Charge into your next enemy.
Demoralizing Shout when the enemy warrants it.
Victory Rush after you've taken enough damage to benefit from the healing.
Overpower whenever available.
Sunder Armor and
Rend when the target will survive long enough.
Execute to finish enemies when appropriate.
Heroic Strike when you have excess Rage.
Don't waste your
Victory Rush healing. Ideally, you want to take some damage before using it, but NEVER let the activation expire just to squeeze out a little more healing.
Levels 30–39:
At Level 30, you unlock
Berserker Stance,
Berserker Rage, and
Intercept. You'll also have
Death Wish from your Fury talents.
Berserker Stance becomes your primary offensive stance, providing additional Critical Strike Chance. Just remember that it also increases incoming damage, so don't mindlessly stay in it when survivability becomes an issue.
At Level 35,
Gore Drinker starts bringing your sustain package together, and at Level 36, you unlock
Whirlwind.
Rotation Priority:
Charge in
Battle Stance before switching to
Berserker Stance.
Berserker Rage regularly for Rage generation, especially after investing in
Improved Berserker Rage.
Victory Rush whenever you can benefit from its damage and healing.
Whirlwind for strong burst damage, especially against multiple enemies.
Overpower when available, provided the stance swap won't waste a large amount of pooled Rage.
Sunder Armor or
Rend against longer lasting targets.
Execute when finishing the enemy is worth spending your Rage.
Heroic Strike or
Cleave when you have excess Rage.
In Forever,
Whirlwind hits with BOTH weapons by default, which is a substantial improvement for dual wield Fury. Our
Raging Blows talent further reduces its Rage cost by 3.
This is also where
Gore Drinker starts making a real difference. Abilities such as
Berserker Rage,
Bloodrage,
Death Wish, and
Enrage trigger additional healing from your subsequent melee attacks.
Once you unlock
Improved Berserker Rage, you should be pressing
Berserker Rage very frequently. It generates additional Rage, removes movement impairing effects, and eventually contributes to your healing through
Gore Drinker.
Levels 40–60:
At Level 40, you finally unlock
Bloodthirst, and the build really starts coming together.
Single Target Rotation Priority:
- Maintain
Battle Shout.
Charge to initiate combat when possible.
Berserker Rage for additional Rage and
Gore Drinker healing.
Bloodthirst whenever it's available.
Victory Rush when active and useful.
Overpower on dodge procs when the stance swap makes sense.
Whirlwind as a secondary damage ability when you have sufficient Rage.
Sunder Armor and
Rend on longer fights when their total damage value justifies the cost.
Heroic Strike when you have surplus Rage.
Execute when securing the kill is more valuable than carrying Rage forward.
Bloodthirst is your number one offensive priority. It scales directly with Attack Power rather than weapon damage, making Strength and raw Attack Power incredibly valuable.
It also provides 10% additional movement speed for 10 seconds, which helps you move between grinding targets more efficiently.
With
Gore Drinker,
Bloodthirst also enables healing through your next three successful melee attacks.
Whirlwind remains useful, but with fast one handed weapons, it's generally secondary to
Bloodthirst for single target damage. Its value increases considerably when fighting multiple enemies.
Rage Management
The number one rule of Warrior leveling is to OBSESS over your Rage bar.
Your goal is to finish enemies with enough Rage to immediately unload on the next target.
Use
Bloodrage between pulls, maintain
Battle Shout, and avoid mindlessly dumping everything into
Execute.
Our
Lingering Rage talent is especially valuable because it delays Rage decay after combat by 10 seconds. This allows you to maintain momentum even when you need to move between enemies or wait briefly for a dungeon pull.
Later,
Anger Management provides additional Rage generation and further improves the flow of combat.
Don't walk into dungeon bosses with an empty Rage bar. Pool Rage beforehand whenever possible.
Heroic Strike and Cleave
One of the biggest mistakes inexperienced Warriors make is using
Heroic Strike constantly.
Heroic Strike replaces your next main hand auto attack, which means you're spending Rage AND sacrificing the Rage that normal white swing would have generated.
Use it as a Rage dump rather than your default attack.
The same principle applies to
Cleave, although
Cleave becomes significantly more valuable when hitting multiple enemies, particularly with
Raging Blows reducing its cost.
Heroic Strike queuing no longer grants the old offhand hit chance benefit in Forever, so don't build your rotation around that Classic mechanic.
Stance Dancing and Overpower Fishing
Good Warriors take advantage of
Overpower procs, even while playing Fury.
When an enemy dodges one of your attacks, you can switch to
Battle Stance and use
Overpower for additional damage.
Hamstring can also be used to fish for these dodge procs and additional
Flurry activations, although you shouldn't spam it at the expense of your important damage abilities.
Remember that stance swapping can cost Rage. At Level 14, baseline
Tactical Mastery allows you to retain 10 Rage, and our later
Improved Tactical Mastery investment increases that to 25.
When you're sitting on a massive Rage pool, don't throw most of it away chasing a single
Overpower proc.
Multi Target Gameplay
Fury isn't just a single target grinding specialization. You can also put out excellent cleave damage, especially once
Whirlwind becomes available.
Against multiple enemies:
- Apply
Demoralizing Shout early to reduce incoming physical damage. - Use
Thunder Clap when the attack speed reduction is worth the Rage and stance requirements. - Prioritize
Whirlwind for damage against multiple targets. - Use
Cleave instead of
Heroic Strike when hitting two enemies. - Use
Bloodthirst on cooldown once unlocked, especially against priority targets. - Activate
Death Wish for meaningful burst windows when you can safely handle the additional damage taken.
Be careful with
Death Wish, since it now increases damage taken while active.
And if you happen to get
Ravager from Scarlet Monastery, seriously consider temporarily respeccing Arms. The synergy between
Ravager,
Sweeping Strikes, and
Whirlwind is absolutely INSANE for dungeon cleaving.
Grinding Efficiency and Survival
Fight green mobs whenever possible. Enemies around three levels below you are an excellent target because you'll experience fewer misses, dodges, parries, and glancing blow penalties than against higher level enemies.
A few other fundamentals make a HUGE difference:
- Train Thrown Weapons early. Use
Hamstring to slow difficult enemies, create distance, and deal damage while kiting with your thrown weapon. - Use
Bloodrage and bandages between pulls to recover health without sacrificing all your Rage. - Split pull dangerous packs using dynamite or other ranged attacks to isolate individual enemies.
- Interrupt dangerous casts. Use bombs or
Shield Bash early, and
Pummel once it's available at Level 38. - Keep your sharpening stones or weightstones active. The added weapon damage is especially valuable with fast dual wield weapons.
- Use your defensive toolkit.
Disarm,
Intimidating Shout,
Retaliation, and
Shield Wall can save you when a pull goes wrong.
