Overview

We've got two more surprise additions coming with Season 2 tomorrow, May 7th, 2025.

Vanessa has been given two individual items to top up her existing item pool (which was supposedly short a couple of items). There are simply being added to the game in general, and not via Expansion like Mak and Pyg.

Let's dive in to check them out!

New Items Revealed

Custom Scope

Custom Scope is a cool new addition to the One-Weapon archetype, giving a solid flat Crit boost while allowing the Weapon to fuel its supporting items. One nice thing to immediately note is that it applies to the right side, meaning it can be paired with Silencer.

This could be quite strong alongside faster Weapons in order to get more Charge triggers, and could certainly help speed up items like Orange Julian. Additionally, combined with a Flagship you could get up to five triggers each cast, as long as you're able to fit it onto your board (seeing as it has no tags).

Overall I think this could help One-Weapon builds get back some of their burst potential, which was recently lost after the nerf to Flurry of Blows. There's a lot of powerful late game builds now, so having new ways to keep up is always welcome.

Tortuga

Tortuga is a fun Large build-around item that encourages players to utilize Friends. While Vanessa may not have as many Friends as Dooley, there's still a good amount available, especially after her Season 1 Expansion.

It'll be interesting to see what players come up with, because the majority of Vanessa's Friends are Burn or Poison based. Tortuga is quite different, but having an item that Charges two seconds per Friend use and Hastes everything else definitely has potential.

One final thing I'd like to note is that it has the Vehicle tag. This immediately makes it better because it enables powerful skills like Flashy Pilot, which not all builds can take advantage of. As for everything else, I'll leave that for you to discover!
