The Bazaar Pygmalien: Weapon Builds

Overview

Weapon builds capitalize on early aggression thanks to their strong scaling and high base Damage. They perform best when you can snowball wins, as later on they inevitably begin to fall off.

In this guide, we'll showcase a few different end game builds, and explain some of the opening lines to help you approach the early to mid game.

While every build is viable under the right conditions, please note that a build's average strength can greatly vary with each patch. If you want a clear look at what's working, check out our Meta Builds.

Bronze Items & Opening Lines

Here are some example items and openers to look for during the first few days, based on the Bronze item pool.

Weapon openers are generally centered around Crook, Showcase, or Lumboars. These are the go-to Damage scalers early on, but if unavailable, you can settle for Weights or Ganjo instead. It's important to find one of these ASAP, so that way you know how to fill in the gaps later.

  • Crook — Prioritize Flail and Lumboars as Multicast Mediums. The Quest items can occasionally be good, but only when they're found/completed early.
  • Showcase — Leans into the Weapon/Shield hybrid game plan. Look for Small Weapon/Shield items, especially Tusked Helm and Wrist Warrior.
  • Lumboars — A reasonable scaler for a board of fast and/or Multicast Weapons. Gets better when you find early neutral/off-hero Weapons (ex. Fang).

Note: When playing the Weights line, you may find opportunities to pivot towards a Heal Build instead.

Economy Items

  • Money Tree — Can often fund your entire run alongside Cash Register, regardless of whether you're playing it on board.
  • Cash Register — Alongside Money Tree this is a must buy, but even without it's still solid. Just be mindful of your Stash space.
  • Business Card / Rewards Card — Always worth buying, unless your Stash space is completely occupied.
  • ATM — A great purchase for the Income boost. Only skip if you're extremely short on funds.
  • Piggy Bank / Safe / Briefcase — Ridiculously good with Money Tree, but otherwise optional.
  • Signet Ring — Provides a small amount of passive Max Health and Income, if you can spare the space.
  • Boomerang — An optional Loot generator for PvE fights. It can also temporarily fit onto Crook boards.

Note: Manage your Economy so that you can buy every affordable Weapon you see. This enables a huge power spike via Lifting and Pyg's Gym.

Additional Notes

  • Dog — Requires you to hit early Chocolate Bar and/or Gumball events. Pinata, Piggles, and Premium Piggles can also help.
  • Jabalian Totem — Finding Kev can unlock Showcase synergies, but either Heal/Shield makes it a solid early Weapon for Crook.

Silver Items

Here are the signpost items that enable the build, along with some mid game inclusions that help bridge the gap to the final board.

Core Items

  • Pyg's Gym — Pyg's premium choice for Damage scaling once enough Weapons have been purchased. If found early, consider using Jabalian Drum first.
  • Jabalian Drum — Incredibly strong during the early to mid game due to its persistent Haste and Damage scaling. Commonly leads into Pyg's Gym.
  • Yo-Yo —The best host for Damage scaling due to its incredibly spammy nature.
  • Dragon Tooth — Converts gold into permanent Damage scaling. A high priority as long as you've got the funds to enable it.
  • Belt — A staple support item for Max Health synergies. Great with Regal Blade, Lion Cane, and Double Whammy during the late game.
  • Model Ship — Provides Multicast support for Toy-based setups. Commonly paired with Yo-Yo, Marbles, and/or Piggles Protectors.

Mid Game Items

  • Cash Cannon — Can be a great source of front-loaded Damage, but only if you've built a strong Economy.
  • Display Case / Sponsored Apparel — A dual-scaling duo for the Weapon/Shield hybrid builds. Replaces Showcase.
  • Private Jet / Streaming Setup — Value-based multi-scalers for builds that utilize Damage, Shield, and Heal. Additional Value scaling is not required.
  • Jabalian Dagger — A fast Weapon that takes advantage of Value synergies, but also doubles as an Economy item.
  • Jabalian Recurve Bow — Deals strong burst Damage on early game Crook boards, but aim to replace it by the mid game.
  • Apropos Chapeau / Grindstone — Alternative scaling items if your current ones are falling behind. Can be situationally solid.
  • PenFT — A low Cooldown Toy and Value-scaler that can help improve startup time.
  • Globe — If you can spare the space, it's a solid way to scale your Max Health.

Economy Items

  • Masterpiece — Passively grows in Value with zero effort, but occupies a lot of Stash space.
  • Ledger — Can be useful for scaling the Value of specific items, but also demands ample space.

Pyg's Gym Build

Here is our example of the final end game board. However, feel free to explore different options depending on what's available in your run.

Tusked HelmCard border
Wrist WarriorCard border
Piggles LauncherCard border
Yo-YoCard border
HaladieCard border
Dragon ToothCard border

Essential Items

  • Pyg's Gym — Its late game strength varies depending on how high you can scale it. Don't expect Weapons to go off more than a few times in the end game.
  • Yo-Yo — Absolutely necessary in order to get multiple hits off within a short window. Diamond-tier is recommended.

Upgrade Priority: Pyg's Gym > Yo-Yo > Dragon Tooth

Recommended Items

  • Piggles Launcher — A fast activator for Wrist Warrior, especially alongside Yo-Yo. Only worth using alongside Small items.
  • Wrist Warrior — Enables quick Damage triggers, but requires adjacent Shield support.
  • Tusked Helm / Haladie — Standard Small Multicast Weapons. Can be replaced with faster off-hero Weapons.
  • Dragon Tooth — You have the option to replace this for something better during PvP, but in general, the more fights the better.

Alternative Items

  • Atlatl / Caltrops — Premium Diamond-only items with massive Damage potential. Replace Piggles Launcher + Wrist Warrior if using one of these.
  • Jabalian Drum — Can replace Pyg's Gym if the scaling is too low (or it's unavailable). It's also strong enough to win the run early if you're snowballing.
  • Ring King Gauntlets — An easy substitute for Tusked Helm if you're not playing Wrist Warrior.

Recommended Skills

  • Charge — Shield Bash
  • Crit Chance — Honed Arsenal, Honed Strike
  • Damage Scaling — Lifting, Noisy Cricket, Sharp Corners, Tempering, Huge Warrior
  • Disruption — Stunning Strike
  • Max Health — Backroom Dealings, Brawler, Growth Spurt, Diamond Heart
  • Shield Scaling — Defensive Stance, Hardened Shield, Improvised Protection

Problem Solving Priority: Damage Scaling > Crit Chance > Startup Time > Sustain (Defensive Enchant/Lifesteal)

Crook Build

Here is our example of the final end game board. However, feel free to explore different options depending on what's available in your run.

AtlatlCard border
Regal BladeCard border
Lion CaneCard border
BeltCard border

Essential Items

  • Crook — An aggressive tempo build that falls off hard after Day 12. Only pursue this line when you're able to snowball wins and stay ahead.

Upgrade Priority: Crook > Belt > Lion Cane > Regal Blade

Recommended Items

  • Regal Blade / Lion Cane — Deals strong upfront Damage, especially if you solve Crit.
  • Belt — Increases the Damage of Regal Blade and Lion Cane, while providing extra padding to survive long enough to use them.
  • Atlatl —Significantly improves the build's Damage output, but it's a rare find at Diamond-tier.

Alternative Items

  • Cash Cannon — Another strong upfront Weapon, if your Economy can support it.
  • Gramophone — Can be utilized alongside a Belt + Lion Cane setup. It works best when you have Max Health skills.
  • Caltrops — Completely punishes spammy opposing boards. It's also a great host for enchantments.

Recommended Skills

  • Charge — Shield Bash
  • Cooldown Reduction — Long Strides
  • Crit Chance — Honed Arsenal
  • Damage Scaling — Lifting, Huge Warrior
  • Disruption — Stunning Strike
  • Max Heath — Backroom Dealings, Brawler, Growth Spurt, Diamond Heart

Problem Solving Priority: Crit Chance > Damage Scaling > Startup Time > Sustain (Defensive Enchant/Lifesteal)
