Key Conditions:

1. Dawn Core or Luden's Tempest from Portable Forge augment.

2. Gold Augment: Consuming Flora

Augment Description:
“Gain a Flora Fatalis Emblem. The champion holding the Emblem gains double benefits from the Flora Fatalis trait and gains Mana Regen.”

This augment is nerfed on Patch 18.2, but it's still VERY GOOD. Choose it and don't worry about the nerf, it's still one of the best choice for Veigar!
Combine it with our new secret tech for Veigar. Your Veigar will be dominating again!

New 3 Elderwood Veigar Opener

Don't sacrifice any unit at Lv3/Lv4 because you only have so few units, It's better to play all of them instead of sacrificing one of them.

Ideally play 3 Elderwood opening since it pivot into the new version smoother, but 3 Sprykin version is also fine.

Old 3 Sprykin Opener

Rammus is very strong even at 1-star without any item, because his ulty conveniently gives him a ton of Armor/MR, makes him the tankest unit in the early game even without any synergy.
He also enables 3 Sprykin which is super strong early because the BFF will trhow rock to add in a lot of extra damage.

Remember, it's totally okay to lose Stage 2, and don't level up, save your gold to roll at 3-1.

Between Rek'Sai and Alistar, whoever gets 2 starred becomes the main tank.

Remember to let Veigar ride the Big Furry Friend if you can get 3 Sprykin in the early game.

How to roll/When to roll/Leveling

Don't level up early game since you are mainly rerolling 1-costs.

Wait until 3-1 and roll. Because on 3-1, you are still Level 4 but with a lot of econ (if you didn't level early). This gives the best chance for you to hit 3-stars 1-cost.

However, don't roll down to 0, keep at least 10 or 20 gold so your econ can go back up.

This comp really needs to be super strong at stage 3. You most likely will have to roll down to 20 or 30 gold at 3-1. So try to focus on the 3-1 roll down as best as you can.

Try to 3-star Veigar and Ornn before Stage 3 carousel. This will give you great tempo in the Stage 3 and make Veigar gain stacks much faster.

For this new version:

While you are rolling at Lv5, also remember to pick up Leblanc, Alistar and Ornn!
Level up to 6 once your Veigar is 3 starred, then start to roll for Ornn>Alistar>Leblanc>Rek'Sai 3-star. (the > signs priority)
If Rek'Sai is 3 starred first, then play the old version first, sacrifice Fiddlestick to make Rek'Sai tankier. But ideally you want to play around Ornn in this version.
Meanwhile put Leblanc on the board to fight to create copy, so that you can 3-star other units faster.
You can scarifice the Lifebloom, it will also gives Veigar mana-generation and Damage Amp.
(Leblanc's passive is that she will create a copy of the units on your current board, if she joins takedown, this will increase her chance to create a copy)

Positioning tip:

The most important tip is to remember don't let Veigar get stucked on enemy main tank.

Which means, you should let him kill the small/weaker tanks first if you can, by positioning him far away/on the other side of the enemy main tank. For example, if enemy main tank, let's say a three items Rammus or Sentinel is on left side, then you put Veigar on the right side. Vice versa.

Because how Flora Fatalia Emblem works, Veigar can gather mana by killing small tanks one by one, meanwhile healing allies, it's like snowballing, so it's very impotant to do so.

Itemization

For Veigar

1. "Dawn Core" is the best artifact. "Luden's Tempest" is also great because it just got buffed on Patch 18.2

2. Flora Fatalis emblem (especially from the augment "Consuming Flora" ) is still really good. But after the nerf, Dawncore is better than it.

3. Hextech Gunblade is the best to add on the emblem and artifacts.

4. Normal Craftable BIS: Blue Buff + Hextech Gunblade + Flora Fatalis Emblem or Artifacts (Dawncore or Luden's Tempest)

For Alistar

Tank items are generally much more flexible. There are many choices,

Because you are solo-fronting Alistar, you really want Gargoyle Stoneplate.
Then Ionic Spark for Magic Penetration, so Veigar can get through the frontline much easier.

Remember to spread your unit up at late game if you are going against AOE damage. (Lux, Ahri, Ashe, etc.)
This will give you a huge advantage.
