Lux Tier List (Updated for 18.2)
S-tier:
1. Blackthorn Lux
2. Elderwood Lux
3. Lunar Lux
A-tier:
4. Blossom Lux
5. Primal Lux
6. Inferno Lux
B-tier:
7. Fae Lux
8. Coven Lux
9. Solar Lux
General rules:
1. There are only 9 copies of Lux total in the pool, and different types of Lux share the same pool.
2. If the Lux happens to meet the vertical trait you are playing, then it's S tier regardlessly.
3. Actively trying to find the perfect Lux is extremely hard.
In total at Lv9 around 3.3% chance per shop to find your perfect Lux, the chance gets even lower when other people take Lux from the pool.
So when no Lux is taken out of the pool, in order to find your perfect Lux, you need at least 30 rerolls which is equal to 60 gold to roll at Lv9. Then you still need the money to buy the champion.
4. There can't be the same type of Lux for two players. For example, if you already have Inferno Lux, then other players can't have Inferno Lux in their shop.
By using this rule, it could help you find your perfect Lux in extreme situations.
If you noticed other players have already taken the types of Lux you don't want, it could drastically increase the chance to find your perfect Lux.
On the other hand, if you noticed your perfect Lux is already on other people's board, you would have to settle with other Lux for that moment.
You could also use this rule to deny certain types of Lux from other players.
5. 2 Stars 4 Cost AP carry (Ahri Soraka Zyra) > Lux 1 star
6. To maxmize her damage, position her at the opposite end of enemy carry.
7. Augment "Master of All Origins" allows you to choose Lux from 3 of your most active traits and offer you a Spear of Shojin, you could use this to reach higher point for your vertical.
8. Lux items are very flexible, she has very high basic attack speed, so Spear of Shojin is equal to Blue Buff on her. Because she hits the group that has most enemies with her ulty, she is extremely good at applying Morellonomicon. But don't make Morellonomicon if you already have Inferno.
BIS Example
1. Jeweled Gauntlet + Nashor's Tooth + Nashor's Tooth

2. Spear of Shojin + Jeweled Gauntlet + Striker's Flail

3. Blue Buff + Rabadon's Deathcap + Jeweled Gauntlet

Because Lux has a great AOE, she is also good as a support carry to apply Morellonomicon and Void Staff.
For example, a Blackthorn Lux can stun enemy for 1 second everytime they get hit by her, which is a great CC and makes her an amazing support carry.
In this case you could run items like this ↓

How to Play Lux Elder Dragon 95
Because D-Patch of 18.1 has brought huge buffs to Lux and Elder Dragon, now the Lux Elder Dragon 95 comp has become really good!
Now let's learn how to play it!
Core Rule:
1.It's normally best to build around 4 Vanguards late game, since Maokai needs time to scale and isn't nearly as consistent as the combination of Taric + Sentinel. Plus Sentinel + Dragon is 3 Riftbeast which is crucial.
After you have 3 Riftbeast, you can give Alpha Beast Mark to Elder Dragon.
But if your Maokai comes super early you can also build around him, it's just very conditional.
2. Add in +1 of the 5 cost which belongs to your Lux's synergy.
For example
Lunar Lux → add in Alune
Blossom Lux → add in Ashe
Elderwood Lux → add in Gnar
3. Add in Kog'Mow for 2 Invoker and shreddings.
Kog'Mow is a very convenient and super useful unit, he is 2 Invoker with Sentinel meanwhile save your the trouble of making Shred/Sunder items.
1. Elderwood Dragon Lux 95

Tip: Gnar is very flexible items, normally a TG will do great for him. But if you can get him Edge of Night + Titan's Resolve would be the best.
2. Blossom Dragon Lux 95

You can put Ashe and Lux both at the Opposite of enemy carry to double down on the AOE damage.
3. Lunar Dragon Lux 95

Postion your units around Luna units for the Lunar Buff.
Most importantly remember, always put Lux at the opposite end of enemy carry.
If you really can't be sure, then just put Lux in the middle. However ideally you want to scout and adjust your Lux position.
How to play Blackthorn Lux Soraka
Blackthorn Lux is THE BEST Lux in Patch 18.2 because she can stun enemy for a whole second each time she hit them.
This comp is build for Blackthorn Lux, normally you would play her with Soraka since Soraka fits this comp better. But you can do with other carries as well such as Alune.
Alune is the best AP carry in late game so if you have a chance to switch Soraka to 2 stars Alune you should do it.

This comp might looks familiar to you because it looks a lot like the Zyra Soraka AP 84 comp. And this is exactly where it normally is from.
Once you hit Blackthorn Lux on this line, you can simply transfer items from Zyra to Lux. Lux's AOE is just as big as Zyra's. And she can stun enemy backline infinitely.
But remember one key tip is to always position Lux at the enemy carry's opposite corner.
