Without Elder Dragon, you can put in two extra units in there, which could be Gnarand Alistarfor 2 Brawlers and 3 Elderwood. Which makes your frontline much tankier. Gnar can break enemy formation by throwing their beefy tank to their backline and lower their Armor/MR.
Gnar and Kennen are more flexible with items. They are better with Thief's Gloves (TG). But if they are two-starred, they can carry very hard with Best In Slots items.
When we have Executioner Emblem for Draven, we could also tag in Soraka for more Executioner to buff Ezreal, Kennen and Draven altogether.
Ashe and Lux's ulties are both whole board AOE which can help Draven finish off the enemies, and provide utility at the same time!
Disadvantage
Elder Dragon is actually cheaper because he takes up 2-slots and you will also need less items in general.
Elder Dragon can active 3 Riftbeast for the Sentinel (Blue Buff). Without Elder Dragon, it becomes less optimal to play Sentinel as the main tank.
Elder Dragon could solo carry really hard when 2-starred and has great items. (such as Radiant items and Artifacts)
Must remember: Whatever version of 95 you are playing, don't lose your HP intentionally! Intentionally loss streaking is very bad in this set. Play a strong board early and go to Lv9 step by step patiently! If you don't have enough HP to go Lv9, just settle with a Aphelios or Sivir board at Lv8.
Best Opening
Prefer Elderwood + Inferno opening, this is the most smooth and strongest opening to pivot into Draven 95.
Later on transfer Varus items → Ezreal
Xayah items → Draven
And make Thief's Gloves if you can!
They will give great tempo. Later on put those Thief's Gloves on Gnar and Kennen.
Building Frontline
Itemize 4-costs tank first. Amumu does a great job before Taric and Maokai get upgraded to 2 stars. Sett and Sentinel are also decent if you didn't find Amumu, However Sentinel and Sett are not as consistent as Amumu.
If Taric and Maokai come around the same time, Taric is much better.
Realistically,Maokai is only better if you find him a lot earlier than Taric, play Maokai at the second line or the center first, so that he doesn't die too quick, and can scale better with his passive.
From my experience, Gargoyle Stoneplate is not very ideal in this comp. Try building Evenshroud and Protector's Vow first.
The Importance of Ivern
Ivern gives a massive amount of shield! Especially if you give him multiple mana items, such as Double Spear of Shojin or Adaptive Helm.
If you have extra mana items, consider putting them all on Ivern to shield your frontline. This will buy Draven more time to deal damage.
How to pick Draven's Quest/Bounty
This one quest that only requires Draven to deal 8000 damage is the best. It allow you to generate gold safely. Because in this case, 8000 damage doesn't mean damage in one round, but the total damage of Draven.
But be careful to not pick the one requires Draven to deal 10000 damage in one round, it's much harder and impossible unless your Draven is already perfectly itemized and 2 starred.
Draven get 14 takedownsis also another one which is really good!
In this case, takedowns mean participation, and because Draven attack units randomly and has a huge AOE ult, he can achieve this easily
The ones that require Draven to get a certain amount of kills are much harder. Try to avoid it if you have other options. Assists do not count as kills in this case. Draven has to actually last-hit the enemies, so you need good Draven items and can't have your other carries too strong. This makes the quest very tricky.
With Guinsoo's Rageblade, Draven normally casts 2-3 times per round. If you can add a Spear of Shojin on top of that, Draven can guarantee 3-4 casts per round.
The bounties that require Draven to cast his ult 5 and 8 times are also really good.
The 5 casts one gives two 4-cost champions, which is equal to 8 gold at least.
The 8 casts one gives 10 free rerolls, which is equal to 20 gold. This is much better. It could actually help you 2 star your 5-costs.
So basically, you get around 4-5 gold worth of resources per round.
This one could be really tricky, we overall don't recommend it. If Draven is your only carry then it's safe, but most of the times Draven struggle to deal the most damage consistently in real situation if your other carries are also itemized.
Here is a simple sheet for the Draven Bounty (which we will update consistently as patch goes on)
