Earthshatter Slayer (WIP)
Hey guys! Welcome to my POE 1 guide for my favorite melee playstyle in any ARPG...the Slayer Earthshatter. With mobalytics now having access to POE 1 guides I'll be updating this every chance I get!
I've been playing slams since the beginning, when they were massively OP one shotting bosses to being in the absolute gutter to now recently being very damn good, to finally now becoming the king of starter in 3.27 (thanks to GGG nerfing everything else lol) I have a LOT of experience with slams and I hope you take something different from me and are able to tweak and or learn something here.
Still have a newborn (9 weeks now!) as league is launching and haven't been able to push out content like I want to...with that said.
Why Slayer????
POE 1 (and 2 tbh) have a huge player mindset problem where one streamer or content creator says "This build is S tier - everything else is trash!" without providing much content and more importantly, not realizing that video games (especially POE 1 / 2 which are single player) are meant to be played however YOU want!
Your build farms 2 less div an hour? Who honestly gives a s***, if you enjoy how you play the game, play it that way and don't let anyone else, especially people who are terminally online tell you you're dumb / playing sub optimally or whatever other buzzword of the day they regurgitate. PLAY WHAT YOU WANT AND HAVE FUN WITH!
To me, Slayer is just a much more fun and interesting Ascendancy. From an RPG standpoint (this is an A RPG after all) the slayer also just aligns with me more.
Slayer is a tankier overall ascendancy, providing less overall damage taken and massive leech. Slayer also has easier access to Suppress cap, easier Accuracy + Precise Technique and comparable / some cases more damage than berserker. Being phys reflect immune is also amazing as well as for early progression.
Furthermore, POB isn't entirely accurate and "DPS" is viewed incorrectly the majority of the time. Beserker's main calling for slams is exerting twice as many attacks with warcries, but with normal investment
Deep Breathsand Tukohama Tattoos you still get 100% uptime on
Intimidating Cry - which is all you're really looking for when playing a slam build.
