Build Overview

A fast, tanky melee build that converts Smite’s flat lightning damage into massive elemental scaling while abusing Champion’s permanent Fortify and aura synergy. Smooth leveling, cheap entry, and scales well into early endgame.

Core Mechanics

Smite Scaling

Adds flat lightning damage → scales insanely well with:
- Elemental Damage with Attacks
- Attack Speed
- Aura effectiveness

Champion Tankiness

Permanent Fortify (Fortitude) = huge damage reduction
Strong armour + Molten Shell synergy
Easy access to accuracy and taunt

Aura Stacking

Smite grants a temporary aura buff
Combined with:
- Wrath (later)
- Herald of Thunder
- Precision / Vitality (early sustain)

Endgame Direction

You can take this build into:

Aura-stacking Smite
Crit Smite variant
Lightning conversion + Trinity scaling
Convert into Slayer if you decide to go that way and try out Holy Sweep

Strengths and Weaknesses

Extremely smooth levelling (Act 1–10 viable)
Tanky early with minimal gear
Cheap to start (Carnage Heart + Rebuke carry hard)
Great clear with chaining lightning

Single target can feel mid without upgrades
Melee positioning required

Act 1
Mule a templar and get access to Smite at lvl 1. Then reset to Duelist and add Smite + Ancestral Call. You will start leveling with a 2 handed axe. We will use an axe until we are able to get access to rebuke of vaal (level 64).

Mobility: Leap Slam
