Path of Building Code

Build Overview

This is a variant of the Lightning Arrow or Elemental Hit of the Spectrum Deadeye using the best Levelling Setup for a fast Campaign and a smooth Transition into the Endgame.

The Bow Deadeye is an excellent league Starter Choice because it has no Mandatory or build-enabling uniques, but offers several powerful Unique Options to utilize for a better Experience. It can farm some of the best Early League Content for Currency and has several Options for Respec Later.

Exarch Atlars, Legion, Abyss(after some investment), and potentially the new League Mechanic. Allowing for a perfect Mapping League Start Experience.

Because this build uses a Lot of different Bow Skills, I prefer to call it the Bow Deadeye, but the main Skill is either Lightning Arrow or Elemental Hit of the Spectrum and everything else supplements the build for improved QoL and single-target damage.

  • Burning Arrow and Galvanic Arrow in an Manaforged Arrows Support Setup
  • Later replaced by Blast Rain and Storm Rain for high on-hit Recovery and added Damage for Blue Packs and Rares
  • Shrapnel Ballista into Artillery Ballista for added Single Target Damaage
  • Frenzy for permanent Frency Charge Uptime

The Deadeye is the perfect Ascendancy for any Attack Projectile Build. Offering fast Attack and Movement Speed with Gathering Winds, additional Projectiles with Endless Munitions and a big Damage boost with Far Shot and Focal Point. Alternatively, you can swap over to Warden for Oath of Spring and Oath of Winter for a higher Optimal Damage Point and access to Freeze as a Defensive Layer, but trading off Coverage and Speed.

Very fast players can reach sub-3-hour campaign times. My Personal Best Time is 3:13 on this Variant.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Very Fast
  • Off-Screen Clear
  • S-Tier Legion Farmer
  • High on Hit Recovery (Mana and Life)
  • Evasion-Based Defense
  • Low Effective Hit Pool

Build Variants

Act 1

While it's doable to complete the Act with Galvanic Arrow or Caustic Arrow, I recommend using Spectral Throw in Act 1. It requires fewer skills and Supports during the first Act and has better single-target damage till Level 13.

Use the Essence you get from Killing the Dweller in Flooded Depths on your 2-Hand Sword.

Equipment

Corroded Blade

With 3.29 removing Socket Color, just make sure you have two 3-Links at the end of Act 1, preferably with 1-2 Green Sockets and Evasion-based Gear in each Slot.

Iron Ring and Rustic Sash are excellent for added Early Damage.

Make sure to prepare a Bow for the Swap and any Quiver.

If needed gamble for a Bow after killing Fairgraives

Blink Arrow

Start with Caustic Arrow and Burning Arrow till Tidal Island

Then swap from a Crude Bow to a Corroded Blade and use Spectral Throw for Act 1.

Get Sniper's Mark for Tanky Rares and Bosses

Use Precision at Level 10

Use Dash at Level 4 and replace at Level 8 with Frostblink after allocating Primal Spirit

Alternative Setup

If you do not like Spectral Throw you can go with the Classic Setup for Act 1

Galvanic Arrow + Mirage Archer Support + Momentum Support

Burning Arrow + Manaforged Arrows Support

Shrapnel Ballista

Sniper's Mark

Blink Arrow

Dash -> Frostblink

How it Plays

Mapping

Fire Lightning Arrow or Elemental Hit of the Spectrum

Proc Manaforged Arrows Support, triggering Blast Rain, Storm Rain and Frenzy

Play at medium Range, Rain Skills do not autotarget Enemies at the Edge of your Screen.

Bossing

Place Artillery Ballistas and fire Lightning Arrow or Elemental Hit of the Spectrum

Apply Sniper's Mark with Mark On Hit Support automatically.

Proc Manaforged Arrows Support Setup.

Try to position at Medium Range for Optimal Single Target Damage.

Survivability

Bow Builds suffer from low Survivability Layers. No Block or Recovery on Hit.

Instead they have a very high Hit Rate and use Life on Hit, Mana on Hit and Leech to near instantly recover any Damage taken. That is as long as they Survive.

To have a good playing experience, play at Long to Medium Range, kite away Enemies and don't stand still during Boss Fights.

How it Works

Elemental Hit of the Spectrum or Lightning Arrow:

For almost all Content Elemental Hit of the Spectrum is recommended, but on Legion Lightning Arrow will have the better Feel. At higher Budget Levels or when using a Phys Conversion Setup Lightning Arrow will outshine Elemental Hit of the Spectrum.

Trinity Support upkeep:

To enable Trinity Support consistently, make sure Lightning Damage is your highest Damage Type. This should result in 99% Uptime on Trinity Support

The Uniques are to expensive:

The Taming, The Fledgling, Inspired Learning all start expensive on the first Weekend and then rapidly drop in Value. Unless you got a lucky Drop and buy them early at Day 1, I recommend waiting until they are below 1 Divine and buy them on Day 3+
