Path of Building Code

Build Overview

This is an In-Depth Guide for my Cyclone Slayer League Starter featuring Shockwave and General’s Cry for Path of Exile 3.27 and 3.28 Mirage

The guide will lead you through the early League Start up to the Uber Endgame version.

3.28 UPDATE Video - https://youtu.be/Sz0kJAzZpoc

In 3.28 GGG added VOID SHOCKWAVE Support which should replace a normal Shockwave in the Cyclone setup, it will be a solid buff and can be paired with The Writhing Jar on bosses to improve damage even further.

You will also be able to get a free support from new mechanics, so take Impale Support or Faster Attacks Support

❗In 3.28 you can also play Elemental Version which is Tankier and can feel more comfortable, check it there: https://mobalytics.gg/poe/builds/cyclone-slayer-ele-shockwave-build-guide

About the Build

Cyclone is one of the comfiest skills to play and with the 3.27 buff it became even better. 99% of the time you will be pressing one button and rolling over all the enemies.

It has 3 layers of damage that stack on top of each other automatically: Cyclone of Tumult itself + Shockwave Support and finally General's Cry that spawns Mirage Warriors that will use Sunder (early) or Ground Slam of Earthshaking (endgame) to finish off your foes.

As defenses, you will have a huge over leech + capped block as well.

It’s very easy to setup and works with very scuffed gear at the start but can scale to endgame reaching good single target DPS + AoE clear in the Endgame.

It’s a newbie-friendly build that’s easy to play and not very expensive to setup.

▸ Precise Technique

  • Precise Technique is a very important node for campaign progression that provides lots of free damage since you can’t crit anyways.
  • Because of it, make sure your accuracy number is always higher than your total life. You can check this both in POB.
  • One way to ensure it is to use the Accuracy Mastery that provides +500 accuracy.

▸ Fire Mastery for ~40% Hit DPS

  • Since you’re using Herald of Ash, grab Fire mastery for 100% increased damage with hits against ignited enemies. You’ll be igniting enemies frequently anyway thanks to Herald of Ash converting some of your physical damage to fire.

Around this stage, start investing more into critical strike nodes.

When you make the switch, there are a few key details to keep in mind. You’ll want to combine Cyclone with Shockwave Support for the best results.

Since Shockwave Support becomes available at level 18, grab it as soon as you can. The Cyclone + Shockwave Support combo will serve as your main setup until around level 32.

If you have free sockets, try adding General's Cry early on. Use it together with Autoexertion and Sunder — this setup will greatly increase your single-target damage, making boss fights much easier.

Also remember to keep Desecrate active in your setup. From level 32 onward, you’ll always want to have Desecrate on your panel.

▸ Auras

As for auras, begin with Herald of Ash - it adds 15% of your physical damage to extra fire damage, synergizing well with your passive tree scaling.

Avoid using Brutality Support while running Herald of Ash, they are incompatible.

How it Plays

You press and hold the Cyclone button and everything triggers by itself.

On bosses, you will need to cast Desecrate to spawn corpses allowing General's Cry to start working.

Reuse Desecrate from time to time when you have less than 5 mirage warriors. You can check their amount in your left up corner.

▸ General’s Cry explained

General's Cry is providing a huge chunk of damage and once it’s setup, you don’t need to think about it anymore.

It triggers once you hit an enemy with your Cyclone and spawns Mirage Warriors from corpses around you.

What’s neat is that they’ll target the strongest enemy nearby if there are boss ads nearby for example, making their single target very reliable.

How it Works

You Spin A LOT. That's it.

Changelog

Guide will be fully updated to 3.28 after POB will be updated as well.
