Build Overview

Here's my guide for my Cyclone Slayer League Starter to Endgame Build for Patch 3.29 Curse of the Allflame!

If you have any Questions - Come by my Twitch Here and I'll Help you out!

New Budget Staff Crafting Video Here!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

🚨Work in Progress, be sure to come by the Twitch Stream for the Newest Skill Tree and Gems as I'm changing it to test new things!🚨

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cyclone / Cyclone of Tumult is a very easy league starter that can carry you into T16's with little to no currency! What's even better is that it continues to scale really well into Endgame with some more Investment. The more currency, the higher it'll scale (duh)!

Cyclone Mapping/Bossing -

Mapping and Bossing will be handled by Cyclone of Tumult which is a bigger and better version of Cyclone. Tumult has larger AoE and a higher DPS ceiling but has the drawback of reducing your Movement Speed drastically. We'll mitigate this Movement issue early on with The Stampede / Replica Stampede and eventually transition into Mageblood with Quicksilver Flask + Onslaught + Tailwind + Elusive Boots.

We'll get some added Damage and AoE with a Autoexertion + General's Cry + Ground Slam of Earthshaking setup. Autoexertion will auto cast a Warcry, which will be General's Cry. This Warcry will summon Mirage warriors from corpses to use a socketed attack skill, which will be Ground Slam of Earthshaking which provides a solid amount of clear speed and damage. We'll need Desecrate for Bossing, as there won't be corpses in Boss Arena's.

Defenses -

Our Defenses revolve around Life/Armor Stacking, Leeching Life, and Capped Lucky Attack and Spell Block. We'll stack around 4.5-5K Life and 30-40K Armor thanks to our Gear, Flask, Jewels, and Passive Tree Nodes.

We use a Warstaff for the Implicit Block for Versatile Combatant to allow Over capped Attack Block to turn into Spell Block. So we'll stack tons of Attack Block by using Nodes like Enigmatic Defence, Steelwood Stance, and Whirling Barrier alongside Tattoo's of the Valako Shieldbearer to reach 65% Attack and Spell Block. Combine this with More Than Skill from the Forbidden Flesh and Forbidden Flame Jewels and you'll have a 87.75% Chance to Block Attack and Spell Damage!

Brutal Fervour from the Slayer Ascendancy will keep our Leech and Leech effects running 24/7 to mitigate small hits as long as we keep spinning. We'll also have Overlord for 24/7 Fortification, tons of PDR, Ailment Immunity with Purity of Elements, 6 Endurance Charges, and big hit mitigation with Molten Shell for a very Tanky Spin-2-Win Build!

Early Game Regex - (\w\W){5}|([rgb]-){2}[rgb]|(-\w){5}|Runn|rint|Glint|Heav|s:.+(ax|stave)

Will show 3+ Links, MS Boots, Axe's (For Act 1 & 2 Pre Cyclone), Warstaffs, and Increased Phys Items

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • 360° Huge AoE Clear
  • Smooth and Easy Bossing
  • Tanky
  • Very Easy League Starter
  • Immune to Phys/Ele Reflect and Ailments
  • Just Spin
  • Not Insanely Fast Movement Speed until Mageblood + Quicksilver Flask
  • Need some Currency for Uber Scaling (duh)

Build Variants

Once we hit Level 66, we'll use The Yielding Mortality which is the best budget staff in the game. It provides a very solid 550-600 Physical DPS, 11-12% Base Crit Chance, Chance to Bleed Support, and a decent bit of Attack / Spell Block. Additionally it provides the Greater Harbinger Buff which gives us some really solid DPS buffs.

We'll be using Cyclone until we acquire The Stampede or Replica Stampede in the Endgame which will allow us to swap to Cyclone of Tumult.

This version will start getting 5L for Cyclone and getting the rest of our Supporting Skills for the Endgame and get our 3rd Ascendancy Node Impact for a BIG AoE, DPS, and Accuracy Increase.

Budget

Weapon:

This is the MOST important piece of all your gear as this will drastically Increase or Decrease your DPS based on if you get the right roll.

Once we hit Level 66, we'll use The Yielding Mortality which is the best budget staff in the game. It provides a very solid 550-600 Physical DPS, 11-12% Base Crit Chance, Chance to Bleed Support, and a decent bit of Attack / Spell Block. Additionally it provides the Greater Harbinger Buff which gives us 50% Increased Attack Damage, 30% Increased Attack Speed, 15% Less Damage Taken, 30% increased Movement Speed, and Bleeding Enemies you Kill Explode dealing 10% of their maximum Life as Physical Damage.

If you can't get the Unique, you're going to want a Warstaff since it has Chance to Block Attack Damage or Spell Damage. This will be VERY important later on for increasing our Hit Pool. You'll want Increased Physical Damage, Added Physical Damage, and Attack Speed. Other good stats are Added Damage to Attacks, +1 Level of Socketed Gems, + Accuracy, and Increased Elemental Damage if you have a High Elemental Staff.

Crafting a Warstaff -> High Investment or Budget

Body Armor:

Prioritize Resistances, Attributes, and Armor as these are the most important for this build early on. Additional Physical Damage Reduction is another good roll that will be available on Armor's at Level 45 so keep that in mind.

Gloves:

Prioritize Resistances, Life, Attributes, Armor, and Attack Speed on Gloves early on. Added Damage to Attacks, % Phys Damage Leeched as Mana/Life, and Life/Mana per Enemy Killed are also good rolls to look out for.

Helmet:

Prioritize Resistances, Life, Attributes, Armor on Helmets early on. Regenerate Life per Second and getting Int here are also solid. Goldrim is a good band aid for Resistances here as well.

Boots:

Prioritize Movement Speed, Resistances, Life, Attributes and Armor on Boots early on.

Movement Speed is the most important thing to look out for if you wanna go fast!

Belt:

I like the Rustic Sash base since it gives us Increased Global Physical Damage but getting a belt in general in Early Acts is nice so anything will suffice. Go for Max Life, Max Mana, Resistances, Attributes, and Armor.

Amulet:

Any Amulet is better than no Amulet this early so wear what you get. Go for Added Damage to Attacks, Increased Armor, Max Life, Max Mana, Regenerate Life, and Mana Regeneration.

Carnage Heart is a great Amulet for this build that will be viable all the way to Endgame if you can acquire one!

Rings:

Any Ring is better than no Ring this early so wear what you get. Go for Added Damage to Attacks, Max Life, Max Mana, Attack Speed, Regenerate Life, and Mana Regeneration.

Flasks:

This is entirely dependent on your preferences but I like to run 2 Sanctified Life Flask , 1 Sanctified Mana Flask or Colossal Hybrid Flask, and 2 Quicksilver Flask. Feel free to use whatever you like but have at least 1 Quicksilver Flask for Movement Speed. Once you get your Mana Cost brought down you can drop the Mana Flask eventually. Basalt Flask, Bismuth Flask, Amethyst Flask, and others start to become more important as we get closer to Endgame so be on the lookout for them.

We'll grab Master of the Arena and Bravery first for the Damage, Life, and Armor and then get Art of the Gladiator for the AS/Dex/Movement Speed. Grab Destroyer for some Damage and we'll start pathing to Spirit of War for the Reduced Mana Cost.

Grab Spirit of War and the 10% Reduced Mana Cost Mana Mastery. Then take Unwavering Stance so we can't be stunned. Go for Martial Experience for DPS and Attacks Deal 60% Increased Damage Two-Handed Mastery. Then get Eagle Eye and the Accuracy Mastery +500 Accuracy so you don't have to worry about Hit Chance problems. Grab Hard Knocks or Proficiency if needed.

We can then path down to Wrecking Ball and the Two Handed Mastery for 40% Increased Damage against Rare and Unique Enemies. Then get Steadfast and the Fortification Mastery for Melee Hits Fortify to give us a massive Defensive boost. Get Bastion Breaker and the Physical Mastery for 10% Max Phys Damage. Then Champion of the Cause to help with Mana and a bit of DPS.

Go for Cloth and Chain / Golem's Blood next for some Life and Resistances, then Bloodless and the Life Mastery for 15% Max Life if you don't have a life mod on Body Armor. Then Cannibalistic Rite and Mana Mastery for Mana Reservation Efficiency.

Then get Battle Trance and the Rage Mastery to give us Rage on Hit and Intimidate for some More Damage. Next get Whirling Barrier and Smashing Strikes so we can get Power Charge on Block and Endurance Charge on Crit. This will boost our DPS and Defenses massively. Get Disemboweling for some Crit Chance. Next go for Barbarism, Stamina, and Juggernaut to give us a Max Life and EHP increase.

Your 1st Ascendancy Points should be spent on Bane of Legends. Your 2nd Ascendancy Points should be spent on Headsman. Your 3rd Ascendancy Points should be spent on Impact.

Desecrate

For Bossing, you'll need to Cast Desecrate to Spawn Corpses for General's Cry to Summon your Mirage Warriors!

General's Cry will Auto-Summon Mirage's to use Sunder / Ground Slam of Earthshaking to deal big damage when Autoexertion is Enabled

You'll want to start looking for your first 5-Link Item as you'll want to 5L your Cyclone if you can. Brutality Support is important as Elemental Damage Reflection is disgustingly broken in Endgame Maps so we'll go Pure Physical Damage to be Immune to it. Our Ascendancy will make us Immune to Physical Damage Reflect.

  • Socket Brutality Support if you have the 5L and make sure to have a pure Physical Damage Warstaff as we'll no longer deal Elemental or Chaos Damage
  • You'll want Assassin's Mark once we have Smashing Strikes, this can be bought from Siosa in Act 3 or Lily Roth in Act 6
  • Use a low level Precision if you find yourself needing more Accuracy and it provides a solid Critical Hit Chance boost

How it Works

FAQ's

Why Warstaff over Axe/Sword?

Warstaves have Implicit Block Chance which is one of the most vital components to the builds survivability. Also very cheap and easy to craft

Where does all the Block and Spell Block come from?

Versatile Combatant will convert any Attack Block over 65% to x2 the amount of Spell Block. So just stack tons of Attack Block from our Warstaff Implicit (25%), Serpent Stance (5%), Enigmatic Defence (8%), Body Armor (9%), Whirling Barrier (8%), Steelwood Stance (10%), and as many Tattoo's of the Valako Shieldbearer until you have the capped Attack and Spell Block. Rumi's Concoction will provide a lot of the Block we need early on until we can craft the Body Armor and afford the Tattoo's.

When to Drop Precision?

Once you get enough Accuracy on other gear pieces to have 100% Chance to Hit without the Aura. Can always use it if you need, including linking it with Arrogance Support if you don't have the necessary mana

Is Forbidden Flesh and Flame Required?

No, but the extra 17.75% Chance to Block is really comfy, especially in tough maps. Buy them ASAP, they go up in price fast. Can always use a budget one like Master of Metal or Worthy Foe depending on which is cheaper.

Why drop Autoexertion + General's Cry in the Final Variant?

Once you get the Speed with Mageblood, it can be tough for our Mirage Warriors from the setup to keep up with us when mapping so this just puts all the power into Cyclone of Tumult itself. So we instead focus on Maximizing our Cyclone of Tumult Damage. This will free up some Mana Reservation to allow us to equip Herald of Purity into our Enlighten Support setup as well. Phase Run can fill the last slots for tons of Movement Speed
