So the build revolves around
Ynda's Stand, which says "gain ward instead of 60% of armour and evasion rating from equipped body armour" This can be increased with a Volatile Vaal Orb, the more the better, but 60% is fine if you catalyze it defense cata.
So that being said, we need a
Conquest Lamellar with very high armour and evasion, so we convert all that into Ward.
Why is ward so important? because we are using
Cast on Ward Break Support, which will trigger linked skills when your ward breaks, now
Cast on Ward Break Support has a cooldown, and a cooldown recovery rate of 5% per 100 ward.
The cooldown recovery rate is similar
Cast On Critical Strike Support, meaning you want to aim for about 8k ward, which will put you at the maximum of 400%, anything over that useless, so don't let bigger number impress you, it legit means nothing.
8,000 Ward → 5 triggers/sec — maximum from CoWB.
You might ask, why all spells are level 1? The answer is simple, we are getting our damage from
Soulwrest,
Summon Phantasm Support,
Congregation Support, and the
Reliquarian ascendancy
The Black Cane, which gives us an absurd amount of flat physical damage, and we are going to multiply it with % increases to spell damage, and physical damage.
Also triggering so many spells per second can prove quite difficult to manage mana wise, so we are going
Eldritch Battery to support the high mana cost, and a Watchers Eye with "Gain ES on hit while affected by Discipline".
The Light of Meaning (Physical Damage) combined with
Unnatural Instinct is a great example of hot to multiply your damage.
Gain %Physical damage as extra Chaos damage is another great multiplier, critical strike multiplier, and so on will ramp our DPS into the hundreds of millions.
So the build revolves around getting 8k ward, breaking it, and when it breaks, it procs all our skills. But how do we break it?
We are going to be using
Eye of Innocence, with +1 curse corruption implicit.
Eye of Innocence will make us take 100 fire damage when we ignite an enemy,
Bladefall of Trarthus will ignite any enemy once we're near enough, so that will break the ward, but we also need to get the ward back, so we can break it again, and again, and again. So how do we get the ward back?
Boon of the river from the Olroth Ascendancy will give us a 5% chance to restore ward on hit, meaning we need spells that hit A LOT, and often.
Ball Lightning of Static is a great one here, also
Bladefall,
Blade Blast,
Blade Vortex,
Bladefall of Trarthus, all of these skills when they proc, will have a 5% chance to restore ward, so the more hits, the higher the chance of the ward being restored and then broken again, and so on and so forth.
The build is not immortal by any means, you can still get unlucky, not restore your ward and get clapped by something off-screen. but to help mitigate this, we are stacking block chance, a
Vitality mod watchers eye that restores life on hit, 90% phys damage reduction, and 90% uptime
Steelskin thanks to
The Front Line.
The Front Line gives us 10% max res, 20% additional phys damage reduction while affected by a guard skills, that being
Steelskin, which will be triggered by
Cast on Ward Break Support giving us a great uptime on it.
Another great defensive layer is
Progenesis and a
Cinderswallow Urn (Ignited enemies have Malediction). You could also slot in a
Taste of Hate.
Enduring Composure and getting 4 endurance charges is yet another defensive layer.
And lastly, one of the newest defensive mechanics is Aspect of Lunaris, this will give you a 2% less physical and elemental damage taken per Lunar Protection or Lunar Resistance. These can stack up to 8 times, that's 16% LESS physical and elemental damage taken.
We also are curse immune thanks to 4 unique jewel corruption, I have 25% reduced effect of curses on
The Light of Meaning (Physical Damage),
Unnatural Instinct,
Stormshroud and
Intuitive Leap.
You could also take
Mind Over Matter for even more survivability.
