Path of Building Code

Build Overview

So the build revolves around Ynda's Stand, which says "gain ward instead of 60% of armour and evasion rating from equipped body armour" This can be increased with a Volatile Vaal Orb, the more the better, but 60% is fine if you catalyze it defense cata.

So that being said, we need a Conquest Lamellar with very high armour and evasion, so we convert all that into Ward.

Why is ward so important? because we are using Cast on Ward Break Support, which will trigger linked skills when your ward breaks, now Cast on Ward Break Support has a cooldown, and a cooldown recovery rate of 5% per 100 ward.

The cooldown recovery rate is similar Cast On Critical Strike Support, meaning you want to aim for about 8k ward, which will put you at the maximum of 400%, anything over that useless, so don't let bigger number impress you, it legit means nothing.

8,000 Ward → 5 triggers/sec — maximum from CoWB.

You might ask, why all spells are level 1? The answer is simple, we are getting our damage from Soulwrest, Summon Phantasm Support, Congregation Support, and the Reliquarian ascendancy The Black Cane, which gives us an absurd amount of flat physical damage, and we are going to multiply it with % increases to spell damage, and physical damage.

Also triggering so many spells per second can prove quite difficult to manage mana wise, so we are going Eldritch Battery to support the high mana cost, and a Watchers Eye with "Gain ES on hit while affected by Discipline".

The Light of Meaning (Physical Damage) combined with Unnatural Instinct is a great example of hot to multiply your damage.

Gain %Physical damage as extra Chaos damage is another great multiplier, critical strike multiplier, and so on will ramp our DPS into the hundreds of millions.

So the build revolves around getting 8k ward, breaking it, and when it breaks, it procs all our skills. But how do we break it?

We are going to be using Eye of Innocence, with +1 curse corruption implicit. Eye of Innocence will make us take 100 fire damage when we ignite an enemy, Bladefall of Trarthus will ignite any enemy once we're near enough, so that will break the ward, but we also need to get the ward back, so we can break it again, and again, and again. So how do we get the ward back?

Boon of the river from the Olroth Ascendancy will give us a 5% chance to restore ward on hit, meaning we need spells that hit A LOT, and often. Ball Lightning of Static is a great one here, also Bladefall, Blade Blast, Blade Vortex, Bladefall of Trarthus, all of these skills when they proc, will have a 5% chance to restore ward, so the more hits, the higher the chance of the ward being restored and then broken again, and so on and so forth.

The build is not immortal by any means, you can still get unlucky, not restore your ward and get clapped by something off-screen. but to help mitigate this, we are stacking block chance, a Vitality mod watchers eye that restores life on hit, 90% phys damage reduction, and 90% uptime Steelskin thanks to The Front Line.

The Front Line gives us 10% max res, 20% additional phys damage reduction while affected by a guard skills, that being Steelskin, which will be triggered by Cast on Ward Break Support giving us a great uptime on it.

Another great defensive layer is Progenesis and a Cinderswallow Urn (Ignited enemies have Malediction). You could also slot in a Taste of Hate.

Enduring Composure and getting 4 endurance charges is yet another defensive layer.

And lastly, one of the newest defensive mechanics is Aspect of Lunaris, this will give you a 2% less physical and elemental damage taken per Lunar Protection or Lunar Resistance. These can stack up to 8 times, that's 16% LESS physical and elemental damage taken.

We also are curse immune thanks to 4 unique jewel corruption, I have 25% reduced effect of curses on The Light of Meaning (Physical Damage), Unnatural Instinct, Stormshroud and Intuitive Leap.

You could also take Mind Over Matter for even more survivability.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • One of the best single targets in the game
  • Great clear
  • Can play any skill almost
  • Damage over time is a pain
  • Expensive
  • Your PC might have an issue running this lol

Soulwrest - your main source of flat added physical damage to your spells, nothing fancy here.

The Dark Monarch (Summoned Phantasms) - mine has a RMR corruption, YOU DO NOT NEED THIS, a normal one is just fine. Unless you want to slot in Herald of Ash somewhere for more damage and less FPS

Eye of Innocence - +1 corruption mandatory, the amulet itself gets the loop going.

Ming's Heart - get "Cannot be poisoned" becasuse Steelskin takes care bleeding, corruption with a high % of phys as extra chaos

Ynda's Stand - build enabling

Conquest Lamellar - High armour and evasion. I bought mine with 28% quality for more AR and EVA, threw some dense fossils at it, fractured it, kept throwing fossils until I hit triple T1 mods. Then for the suffixes, eldritch currency to hit additional phys damage reduction and a good resistance.

Leviathan Gauntlets - fractured 50% increased damage against chilled enemies, Veiled Chaos it until you hit a suffix and unlock critical strike chance mod with added chaos, then you can boat exalt it in hopes of hitting a good resistance. For the prefixes, get high life and armour with eldritch currency.

Leviathan Greaves - Essence of Torment for shock avoidance and 2 good resistances. If you have a fractured prefix, either life or flat armour or % armour, just lock suffixes, veiled chaos, unlock movement speed, and yolo exalt slam for 3rd prefix.

Unset Ring - mandatory unset ring, get fractured despair on hit mod, throw some scorn essences until you get an empty suffix and T1 life, go to the boat and craft aspect of Lunaris on it. for the other prefix, just boat slam it pray, then bench craft flat cold and fire damage.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Progenesis - great for defenses

Cinderswallow Urn (Ignited enemies have Malediction) - great for damage and defenses

Quicksilver Flask

Diamond Flask

5th flask can be a flex spot, you can either go for a rare flask, Taste of Hate, Wine of the Prophet etc

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Forbidden flesh and flame combo can be either: Saboteur for more damage, or Pathfinder for more QOL and 10% MS. Alternatively you can also get Occultist for stun immunity. Whatever flats your boat

Elegant Hubris (Caspiro Supreme Ostentation) so we get Supreme Ostentation and we ignore attribute requirements. mine has 160% increased damage, 10% chance to get a frenzy charge on hit, 12% chance to block attack damage. Get one that suits your needs and budget.

The Light of Meaning (Physical Damage) socketed under the scion starting zone

Unnatural Instinct to the left

A Watchers Eye with Vitality and Discipline flat life and ES gained on hit mod.

You kinda want Enduring Composure and Blessed Rebirth somewhere on your jewels, so try to incorporate them if the Megalomaniac is too expensive.

The Front Line - great for defenses

Rational Doctrine - fantastic jewel, gives us profane ground and consecrated ground because we balance our attributes and take advantage of both.

Stormshroud combined with our boots give us ailment immunity.

Intuitive Leap saves us a few passive points

I'm using 1 medium cluster to give me Overwhelming Malice which gives us Wither chance and more damage. combined with Pressure Points.

2 large cluster jewels with Wicked Pall, Grim Oath and Unwaveringly Evil (which we don't take)

You can freely swap around skills, just keep in mind that you need atleast 1 or 2 skills that hit a lot and often, to get your ward back up. Ball Lightning Ball Lightning of Static Shock Nova of Procession are great alternatives.

For me, the most damage comes from Bladefall and Blade Blast.
