Build Overview

POBS:
Campaign SSF - https://poe.ninja/poe1/pob/879c9
Brutus switch 10-20c budget - https://poe.ninja/poe1/pob/879ca
Medium budget 5d+ - https://poe.ninja/poe1/pob/879cb
Higher budget 50d+ - https://poe.ninja/poe1/pob/879cc

Note - Sunder is currently used as a placeholder in some PoBs until we are going to get Holy Hammers

Brutus of Holy Hammers is a strength stacking Chieftain using, as you would expect, newly added in 3.28 slam skill Holy Hammers. Stacking strength allows us to receive great offensive and defensive benefits.

Brutus' Lead Sprinkler gives us massive amount of flat fire damage, based on the amount of strength we have. Additionally it has one of the highest base crit chances in the game, which makes transition into crit very smooth and giving us additional synergy, since the more we crit the more power charges we generate for our Holy Hammers.

Crown of Eyes and Rathpith Globe are responsible for our % damage increases. Crown of Eyes together with Iron Will converts our melee physical damage bonus from strength into attack damage bonus, giving us massive amount of % damage. Rathpith Globe boosts this even further. The Iron Fortress, once again, increases the % damage bonus further by increasing strength's effectiveness.

Defensively, we play Chieftain so reaching 90% all elemental resistances is very easy to acquire. That's an incredibly strong defensive layer. Additionally, we take Sione, Sun's Roar, allowing us to take full advantage of Enduring Cry and always receive maximum endurance charges and a massive regeneration boost from it.

The Iron Fortress caps our block at higher budgets due to massive amount of block it provides, depending on how much strength you have. We also have solid amount of armor for more physical mitigation.

Also at higher budgets i do recommend using Flesh and Stone as an additional defensive layer.

Overall the build is all around very strong with formidable amount of damage and defense.

TIPS:

- I do recommend following the 'Campaign SSF' build early on. You can switch to Brutus' Lead Sprinkler as soon as you will be able to get it, but then you would have to respec passive points from 2h weapons etc. In that case you would need to start following the 'Brutus Switch 10-20c budget' passive tree.

- Early on we will be using Sunder as our main skill. I do not recommend using Holy Hammers until you get very solid amount of crit chance (50%+) and preferably a Medium Cluster Jewel with Mob Mentality

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • - Strong all around, offensively and defensively
    - Good AoE clear
    - Incredibly cheap to get going
    - Can scale really hard with investment
  • - Slam build, so not the fastest

How it Plays

In order to unleash Holy Hammers true power, we need to generate power charges. We use Power Charge On Critical Support, Pain Forger and charge generation from Mob Mentality to cover out power charge needs. Without them, the damage and area coverage might not be as great.

Use Enduring Cry on left click, this way every time it's off cooldown you will use it when you try to move. This way we generate permanent endurance charges and receive massive amount of regeneration.

Use Intimidating Cry while fighting tanky enemies, use Blood Rage at the start of the map.
