This is an In-Depth Guide for Winter Orb Occultist League Starter Build for Path of Exile 3.29

This build guide will lead you through the early League Start with Winter Orb Witch up to the Uber Endgame Build version with Insane Gear.

In 3.29 GGG Buffed Winter Orb significantly, improving crit, amount of projectiles and flat cold damage too.

❗Pact of Beidat IS NOT Working with Winter Orb since it is a channeling skill.

Instead you can use Pact of Lycia for 40% more Single Target DMG.

About the Build

Winter Orb is one of the rare skills in path Of Exile Because it has Autotarget and can provide a VERY chill and relaxing gameplay similar to autobombers builds.

It also stacks just perfectly with Occultist Witch, since ascendency can provide Power Charge related bonuses + some survivability.

As defenses, we can get Huge Energy Shield Pull, Regeneration from Occultist, Recovery on Block + 75% / 75% capped block, Chaos Inoculation + Leech.

All of that together making the build pretty Tanky too while additional projectiles providing HUGE Dps.

Start Swapping Uniques AFTER you got Ralakesh's Impatience (Power) with POWER (!!!) Charges.

If Uniques are too expensive, use 90+ variant with rares instead. Skill is strong enough to be viable even with rares. Ralakesh is going to be the most expensive Unique in the list since it provides highest upside.

Armour Items

Focus on getting high ES on your Body armour and Gloves.
Get life where you can before you swapped to Chaos Inoculation

▸Defences

Block

A key defensive layer for Winter Orb Build is reaching block cap:

Using The Red Nightmare + Fire Resistances Tattos should help A LOT with it
Can also useRumi's Concoction Early on if needed
Sanctuary + Safeguard should provide both, block and recovery on block too

Leech

Light Eater + Instant mastery is the main source of leech, nothing else is important.

▸ When to Swap to Chaos Inoculation

You should swap to CI when you have at least 5k+ energy shield with decent recovery + Leech.

▸ Anoints

Most of the time Safeguard is worth it + it is Cheap as well.
Other options are Disciple of the Slaughter or Charisma

▸What's up with Pacts?

Pact of Beidat is NOT Working with Channeling skills, so Pact of Lycia should be used instead for single target. You will need to use Pact of Lycia mostly at bosses and when encountering stronger Rares that require more single target.

▸Why AOE is important?

So when you have A LOT of additional projectiles with Winter orb build, some of them can miss the single target enemy. To bypass that, it is important to rise Area of Effect so your Projectiles will overlap properly. Getting Aoe to at least 2.4-2.6m is recommended.

▸ How to Get Frenzy Charges?

On early levels Mark the Prey + Mark Mastery for Frenzy generation should be enough.

In the endgame, it is possible to get Frenzy Charge on hit from Elegant Hubris (Caspiro Supreme Ostentation). Perfect jewel will be expensive but you can take ANY Hubris that will give you frenzy replacing Arcanist's Dominion or Fire Walker
