Build Overview

// 0.4 LAST OF THE DRUIDS UPDATE //

this build got hit with a few nerfs but, functionally, still works just fine.

I expect the net-sum of the nerfs to be about 40% less damage, overall:

  1. Garukhan's Resolve > caps your crit chance to 50% (before the Bifurcate), meaning about 15% less crit chance, overall
  2. Atalui's Bloodletting > damage bonus capped at 40%, meaning about 15% less damage from it, in our current setup
  3. Rigwald's Ferocity > changed from 20% MORE attack speed to 30% INCREASED, meaning about 15% less overall speed with Spearfield
  4. Falcon Dive > capped at 20% attack speed (lol)

as you can see, quite a few nerfs but, again, the build will still perform quite well, especially given the budget.

also (thankfully), general clearspeed is basically untouched!

I will update the build with any significant changes if necessary, once the patch goes live.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

all of your single target damage depends on High Velocity Rounds hitting hard (due to Riven Armor storing 5% of its damage), therefore, the goal is to make its damage as consistent as possible.

focus on getting a crossbow with as much Accuracy as possible (due to Amazon's Penetrate), which adds to both your min AND max dmg values simultaneously, making the "spread" of High Velocity Rounds as low as possible.

then, you want Garukhan's Resolve ASAP, as it essentially rolls your crit chance twice (already good) AND gives the chance to double your crit damage.

SINGLE TARGET

stand as CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to the enemy for maximum dps!

  1. Despair (time it right before the boss spawns due to delay)
if you have Escalating Mayhem, also do a few Spearfields here
  2. War Banner
  3. Armour Piercing Rounds until armor is Fully Broken
  4. High Velocity Rounds to apply Riven Armor debuff (ensure you are moving for Spray and Pray)
  5. Spearfield spam until Riven Armor expires, then go back to Step 2

due to Riven Armor's dmg being UNSCALABLE, the actual damage Spearfield does is ENTIRELY IRRELEVANT - we just attack as fast as possible to generate poisons with Splinter of Loratta

also, if you REALLY want to min-max, you can also toss in a Crossbow Shot directly before using High Velocity Rounds to get a bit more dmg due to Impale. don't feel like you HAVE TO do this, though.

CLEARING

just Siege Cascade all over the place (Herald of Blood + Herald of Plague clears everything)

ensure that your Splinter of Loratta is on WEAPON SET 1 (for Rigwald's Ferocity)
try to get one with 2 sockets (use Soul Core of Quipolatl) AND "%inc attack speed" corrupt

you want your crossbow to have as much ACCURACY as possible due to Penetrate - the difference between your min and max dmg values will be lower and thus make High Velocity Rounds' Riven Armor debuff more consistent.

past that, you're looking for crit chance, crit dmg and +lvl skills on the crossbow. the phys dmg on the weapon itself is the LAST of your priorities!

your Darkness Enthroned must be "Gloves" - socket two Courtesan Mannan's Rune of Cruelty in it.

most important jewel is Prism of Belief with at least +2 High Velocity Rounds

Controlled Metamorphosis with a MEDIUM ring is also extremely high-value!

instill Lasting Trauma on your amulet

grab +int wherever you can, as lv18 Despair requires 137 int

ensure that your Splinter of Loratta is on WEAPON SET 1 (for Rigwald's Ferocity)

Garukhan's Resolve is absolutely amazing for High Velocity Rounds - it essentially gives you Lucky Crits at minimum (rolls twice) but also has the chance to double your crit dmg (if both "lucky rolls" are successful)

Atalui's Bloodletting gives a TON of extra dmg (and, like Penetrate, adds to both min & max simultaneously!)

Ratha's Assault feels amazing for Siege Cascade and lets you drop all of the crossbow nodes on the tree
ensure you have Power Shots either instilled on your amulet or on your Megalomaniac!

grab +int wherever you can, as lv18 Despair requires 137 int
lv18 Despair is the lowest lv to apply to all enemies (lame new change lol)

KEEP Spearfield AT LEVEL 5!
has a smaller area (good for overlapping) AND saves on mana cost

Crossbow Shot is only there for those of who you want to min-max your single target damage as much as possible (use directly before High Velocity Rounds for Impale!)

most important jewel is Prism of Belief with + High Velocity Rounds
+2 is fine if you can't afford +3

Controlled Metamorphosis with a MEDIUM ring is also extremely high-value!

Megalomaniac has plenty of good nodes - look for:
Stand and Deliver, Power Shots, Fast Acting Toxins, Crushing Verdict, Agonising Calamity, Moment of Truth, Lasting Trauma, Deadly Force, Distracted Target, Heavy Ammunition, Lockdown, Overwhelm, Singular Purpose

instill Lasting Trauma on your amulet (unless you have on Megalomaniac, then instill Power Shots)
