Full Guide In Progress
Getting Started
- NOTE - This build is expensive and requires a fairly large investment to feel good, but once invested, it's one of the best builds in the game.
- LEVELING RECOMMENDATION:
- Levels 1-30:
Lightning Arrow +
Lightning Rod +
Herald of Thunder - Levels 31-80 (Or until you can afford to swap to this)
Ice Shot +
Snipe +
Herald of Ice - For an in depth leveling guide, I recommend Fubgun's Ice Shot Build - https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/builds/ice-shot-snipe-ranger-leveling
- Levels 1-30:
Why Pathfinder?
Pathfinder is my favorite ascendancy in the game, it just feels extremely comfortable with
Relentless Pursuit &
Running Assault.
- We use
The Covenant body armor to leech damage with spell hits and also grant us
Life Remnants
Traveller's Wisdom is also nice, as we can take damage and cost efficiency in place of attributes in the tree making casting spells cost considerably less life.- We need to allocate
Blood Magic to convert out mana costs to life costs (far left of tree)
Blood Mage is going to be the most damage as it's easier to obtain max Crititcal Hit Chance due to the ascendancy. However, you lose a lot of quality of life.
Life Remnants is also crucial but we get that from
The Covenant.
Oracle Is also a good option as it's easier to obtain crit chance
Essential Uniques
The Covenant - Allows for Spell leech and gives us
Life Remnants
Against the Darkness (to use all of the buffs) You need one that has Notables also grant "+# to Spirit"- Needs to be slotted into the jewel socket next to
Heartstopping as this is the only place we have 2 notables within the radius. - As long as you have
Snap in your
Cast on Critical you can add
Siphon Elements once you obtain the jewel
- Needs to be slotted into the jewel socket next to
Jewels
Jewels are extremely important to the build and you will need to craft or buy a couple with:
- Critical Hit Chance for Spells (Required)
- Recover %# Max Life on Kill (At least one jewel needs this, 2 is better)
- Critical Damage Bonus (More Damage)
- Critical Damage Bonus For Spells (More Damage)
- Spell Damage (Nice Option)
- Elemental Damage (Nice Option)
- Energy Shield (Nice Defense Option)
We can also use one
Heart of the Well with damage mods as well as Life on kill. Look for:
- Damage as Extra Cold/Lightning
- Max life of Kill
- Critical Hit Chance
- Critical Damage Bonus
- Skill Speed
Gear
The Covenant (ESSENTIAL)- RARE: Helmet, Gloves, Body Armor, Boots, Rings, Amulet
- Rare STAFF
- +5-6 All Spell Skill gems
- Cast Speed
- Critical Hit Chance for Spells
- Spell Damage
- Damage as Extra Cold
- Damage as Extra Lighting
Chiming Staff is the best base as it grants
Sigil of Power, but other bases are fine until you can afford one.
- Rare AMULET - Must have Tier 1 +# Spirit to use all buffs
- Rare BOOTS - Need to have +# Spirit to use all buffs
- Rare GLOVES - Want +2 Projectile Skills, Crit Chance/Damage, Projectile Damage/Speed, Life
- Rare RINGS - Life, Resistances, %Lighting Damage, Rarity
Soul Tether is a great cheap belt option with great survivability
Headhunter (Not essential but takes the build to the next level
Mageblood (Better than headhunter for pinnacle boss farming, but not as good for mapping)
Rite of Passage (Bonus Item, I like "Spirit of the Primate")
Mods To Look For
