Build Overview

Video Soon! Here's my guide for my Spiral Volley Snipe Spammer Gemling Endgame Build for Patch 0.5! This is being published early for those on Stream.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

🚨Work in Progress, be sure to come by the Twitch Stream for the Newest Skill Tree and Gems as I'm changing it to test new things!🚨

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

🚨I've included a Budget and Giga Investment Variant. Click the appropriate Tab for Gear and the Passive Tree🚨

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Video Soon!

Gemling Legionnaire got a major buff in 0.5 with the new Advanced Thaumaturgy Ascendancy Node which grants an Extra Quality Effect to every Skill Gem. Snipe gets 20% Longer Perfect Timing Window and 20% More Attack Speed. With enough Attack Speed increases from the tree, the Opportunity Flask, and the Quill Rain on Weapon Set 2, this allows you to tap your Snipe and get a Perfect Timed Shot everytime! This means we can spam this skill on Bosses with Tornado Shot which looks really funny.

We'll then use Spiral Volley which gets 30% Chance to Double the Effects of consuming Charges and combine it with Heightened Charges. This makes the skill Chain 2x as much and deal 2x the damage! We'll use Armour Break III + Resonance to allow us to get Frenzy Charges just by Breaking Armor which will keep us topped off on Frenzy Charges to boost this skill.

Since we'll need Physical Damage to Break Armor, we'll use Vestige of Darkness to allow Physical Damage to Contribute to Chill and Freeze Buildup. This means we'll Freeze and Break Armor when using Spiral Volley as long as we build Physical Damage, which enables Herald of Ice for some great Clear Speed!

We'll use the new Split Personality Ruby to start in either the Ranger or Shadow part of the Tree depending on your Budget. This lets us pick up valuable Crit, Attack/Skill Speed, and EV/ES Nodes that make the build go smoothly.

You don't need these items to make the build function, but they'll drastically improve the performance: Mageblood for Movement Speed/Crit Chance, Rite of Passage for a big boost depending on the Spirit, and Garukhan's Resolve for better Crit Chance with Snipe. I've included a Budget Variant for those that wanna run the build but not your pockets.

Shoutout to ds lily for the Snipe Tech, be sure to check out her variant and video!

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Flashy
  • S Tier Clear
  • Very Unique
  • Solid Bossing
  • Unique Playstyle
  • Needs Investment to melt bosses
  • Not 200% Deli Viable without Investment

Build Variants

This variant will sub out some of the expensive Jewels and Lineage Gems. This will cover you until you invest more into the build.

We'll be using a High Phys DPS Bow with Cadiro's Gambit on Weapon Set 1 for Spiral Volley and a Quill Rain on Weapon Set 2 for the Attack Speed. This allows Snipe to be insanely fast to use. The Opportunity Flask will increase this Window for Perfect Timing further and will activate automatically when we use Snipe the first time.

Spiral Volley will Break Armor with Physical Damage, which means Vestige of Darkness will allow that Physical Damage to Freeze and Chill. This means we can use Herald of Ice for a massive clear speed boost.

Tornado Shot will be used for Bossing, as it multiplies the amount of Snipe Explosions. Place them beside or behind the Boss then Barrage your Snipe into the Boss and watch the Projectiles multiply!

Bow (Weapon Set 1):

Prioritize these Affixes:

- % Increased Physical Damage

- Adds # to # Physical Damage to Attacks

- % Increased Physical Damage / Accuracy

- + to Level of Projectiles / Attacks

- +% to Crit Chance

- % Increased Attack Speed

Get the highest Physical DPS Bow you can, this helps Break Armor more efficiently and mitigates the need for Elemental Penetration. Crit Chance will help scale our Crit, + Level of Skill will scale DPS aggressively, Attack Speed will make all of our actions faster.

Quiver (Weapon Set 1 & 2):

We'll use Cadiro's Gambit as this Quiver provides 1 of 6 bonus to every Arrow Fired:

- Crescendo Arrows: Chain 6 Additional Times, Deal 60% Increased Damage per chain

- Splinter Arrows: Split Arrows towards 6 targets

- Reversing Arrows: Arrows Pierce and Return to you

- Diamond Arrows: Guranteed Crit Hit and 60% Increased Crit Bonus

- Covetous Arrows: 600% Rarity on Kill

- Blunt Arrows: 600% Increased Stun Buildup

Try to get a Corrupt one with Skill Speed, Crit Chance, or Increased Damage

Bow (Weapon Set 2):

We'll use Quill Rain for the 100% Increased Attack Speed which makes Snipe instant. Make sure its Runeforged for higher Damage! Can try for 3 Socket if you wanna invest into it. Try to get one with as high Increased Arrow Speed since Feathered Fletching makes this a DPS increase.

Body Armor:

Prioritize these Affixes:

- + / % Increased Evasion and Energy Shield

- Gain Deflection Rating

- +% Res /Attributes / Rarity

Get the highest EV/ES that you can possibly afford, this is your biggest Defensive increase for the build! Make sure to Socket 1 Idol of Eramir to make Spiral Volley and Barrage QoL better.

Gloves:

Prioritize these Affixes:

- Adds Damage to Attacks (Physical > Cold > Lightning > Fire)

- + / % Increased Evasion and Energy Shield

- % Increased Critical Damage Bonus

- % Increased Attack Speed

- +% Res /Attributes / Rarity

I used and Evasion/Energy Shield pair of Gloves and Runeforged them since we need Ward for Olroth's Conviction. Be sure to get Adds Physical Damage to Attacks to help Break more Armor!

Socket with Idol of Sirrius for the Attack Speed increase.

Helmet:

We'll use the Vestige of Darkness as this allows our Physical Damage to Freeze and Chill. This makes Herald of Ice possible. We'll also Blind enemies in our presence and it gives you a semi-invisible Bodach companion that'll attack enemies when in maps!

Get one Corrupted with +20 Spirit so we can run an additional Spirit Gem or get Spirit on one piece of gear!

Boots:

Prioritize these Affixes:

- Skills have 10-15% chance to not remove Charges but still count as Consuming them

- 30-35% Increased Movement Speed

- + / % Increased Evasion and Energy Shield

- Gain Deflection Rating

- +% Res / Attributes / Rarity

Its beneficial to get the Uhtred's Sidereus Chronomancy Mod for Chance to Not Remove Charges as this'll make uptime for Spiral Volley Frenzy Charges more consistent. Not required, but makes a big QoL difference.

Belt:

This slot is flexible but there's really only 2 options eventually:

- Mageblood: 24/7 powerful flask effects applied, always up in Boss fights

- Headhunter: Ramping Rare Monster Mods, very high ceiling in maps but no Uber Boss Value

Both are very good, I prefer Mageblood this league for the QoL, Defenses, and Movement Speed it provides.

Amulet:

Go for a Lament Amulet base if you can with Eternal Rage if possible for 30% More Damage.

- % Increased Evasion Rating

- % Increased Energy Shield

- + Level of All Projectile Skills

- % Increased Crit Chance / Bonus

- +% Res / Attributes / Rarity

Getting another free Spirit Gem would be nice, but not required. Just be sure to get the Energy Shield / Evasion increase to ensure you have enough Defenses. + Level of Projectiles doesn't have to be +3 but would be nice.

Anoint with Paragon for Gem Quality or Splinters if you need more Armor Break.

Rings:

Prioritize these Affixes:

- Adds Damage to Attacks (Any but Phys > Cold > Lightning > Fire)

- +% Res / Attributes / Rarity

Get whatever damage you can, then cover those Resistances / Attributes / Rarity.

Jewels:

1st Jewel - Split Personality Ruby Shadow / Ranger

- Shadow starting point is 40+ Divine but provides best Passive Point Management

- Ranger is 3 Divine but drops a couple points, much more budget friendly

2nd Jewel - Time-Lost Sapphire

- 20+% Increased Effect of Notables in Radius

- % Increased Crit Hit Chance for Attacks

- % Increased Energy Shield

- Upgrades Radius to Large / Very Large

3rd Jewel - Heart of the Well

- Gain Extra Damage (Cold > Lightning > Fire > Chaos)

- % Increased Energy Shield from Body Armor

- % Mana Cost Efficiency / Mana on Kill

- % Increased Crit Chance / Crit Bonus / Attack Speed

4th Jewel - Prism of Belief with +3 Snipe or Rare Emerald

- % Increased Crit Hit Chance / Bonus

- % Increased Evasion

- % Increased Attack Speed / Damage

Flasks:

- Life Flask: Opportunity with as high Longer Perfect Timing Window as possible

- Mana Flask: 70% Reduced Lavianga's Spirits for constant Mana Refill / Flask Effect

Charms:

- Dousing Charm: +Guard and Charges for nasty Abyss Ignites, be sure to have this

- Thawing Charm / Nascent Hope: + Guard and Charges, stop moving = Bad

- Rite of Passage / Stone Charm: Spirit Buff or Stun Immunity if you can't afford it

Mapping -

Use Spiral Volley to Break Armor and get Frenzy Charges to boost itself. This will kill most Magic / Normal Enemies but sometimes Rare's have Proximal Tangibility or some other tricky mod. If you come across a chunky Rare, use Snipe on them. Feel free to drop Tornado Shot and combo Barrage if needed. I tend to use these combo's in Ritual Circles, Abyss Pits, or when a Breach opens all the way.

Bossing -

Build up Tasalio's Rhythm before fighting the Boss for 50% More Damage. Then enter the Arena and place Tornado Shot behind or right beside the Boss to ensure Snipe hits the Boss and gets its Projectiles duplicated. Use Sniper's Mark before using Snipe to get some Extra Crit Damage, and use Barrage before Snipe when its not on Cooldown to shoot extra Arrows.

Misc -

Snipe moves your Character a step backwards every time you use it, so try to position your back against a wall or object when Bossing or else the distance from the Boss from spamming Snipecould affect your Accuracy and make it possible to miss.

Be sure to Tornado Shot -> Sniper's Mark -> Barrage -> Snipe for you Bossing Rotation. Make sure you time your Snipe, the timing is a little weird depending on your Attack Speed so sometimes you have to hold down your mouse click for a split second to get the Perfect Timing. You'll know you're hitting the timing right if you have stacks from Tasalio's Rhythm.

Mobalytics doesn't have support for Split Personality Ruby yet! Read below!

Passive Tree Breakdown -

I'm pathing to the Jewel Socket near the Ranger part of the tree where the Split Personality RubyJewel is. Everything from that to the Gemling Legionnaire starting point isn't allocated. Can also check my PoE Ninja (SpinSpinSpinSnipe) if you want the Live Tree.

We'll take Freeze Nodes on Weapon Set 1 like Deep Freeze, Thin Ice, and Heavy Frost to ensure we Freeze enough for Herald of Ice. We'll also take Material Solidification andStylebender to ensure we break enough Armor. Feel free to anoint Splinters if you need some more Armor Break.

We'll take Attack / Skill Speed Increases on Weapon Set 2 to ensure we have the Instant Snipe with Acceleration, Stimulants, Deep Trance, and more. Feathered Fletching will take the Increased Projectile Speed from Quill Rain and also make it increase our DPS.

For the regular Non-Weapon Set Points, we'll take big EV/ES increases like Spectral Ward, First Principle of the Hollow, First Teachings of the Keeper, and others to ensure our Hit Pool is solid. Then we'll take Crit Nodes to scale our DPS like Struck Through, Moment of Truth, True Strike, and others.

Ascendancy Points -

We'll take Essence of Virtue with our 1st Ascendancy Points for a massive Defense Boost. Our 2nd Ascendancy Points is for Advanced Thaumaturgy for an Additional Gem Quality Effect for all our Skills. The 3rd Ascendancy Points is for Gem Studded which will grant all 3 bonuses if we have the same amount of Support Gem Requirements. The 4th Ascendancy Points can be used on Integrated Efficiency for an Offensive Boost.
