This build is an extremely good starter build with one of the highest damage to budget effectiveness I've ever seen, you can do 200% deli maps on day 1 SSF gear easily. The downside is that it has some clunkiness to it.
Oil Grenade Vs Oil Barrage
Oil Barrage - Slightly slower due to the skill stopping you, slightly lower damage, but no cooldown to manage and it looks cooler
Oil Grenade - Slightly faster, slightly more damage, clunkier if you mess up the cooldown though
Clunkiness:
- Burning ground cannot hit flying enemies so you have to use
Tornado to pick up your ground against a lot of monsters, very noticeable in expedition. - Cannot have any added flat fire on your gear or it will mess up your ignites
- If you use the new
Xoph's Blood in 0.5.5 you will have to use Elemental Focus on any skill other than
Flameblast that can ignite since Xoph's Blood will now be giving
Avatar of Fire (this isn't really an issue and doesnt take anything away from the build, I just know some people will forget to do it so hopefully you read this) - If you mess up spreading the burning ground you will have to channel
Flameblast again which doesn't feel good mid map - If you don't have enough Flammability Magnitude you will fail to ignite enemies, I have not really had this problem, just get it on your tree and some jewels if needed.
- It will annihilate your PC (seriously)
Snapshotting:
What is snapshotting - You have a specific stat and then when you remove the stat from your gear it is still functional
This build snapshots your burning ground from
Flameblast which means anything that is equipped during the flameblast the damage will stay, for example having
Fireflower equipped, flameblasting, then swapping for
Xoph's Blood will still have the damage of +4 fire gems on fireflower. Additionally the -res on
Xoph's Blood will still add to the damage.
